Detailed Reviews
A delightful country house, complete with turret rooms and ivy creeping up its walls. The extensive gardens were lovely and there were flowers everywhere. The interior was very pleasant and welcoming. The lounge, with a fireplace was a beautiful place to hang around in. The staff were gracious enough to serve us an Afternoon Tea service even at a very short notice. The dinner menu was nice and full of local produce.
Our turret room on the first floor was large and extremely well appointed. The comfortable seating near the windows was a nice touch. The four poster bed was too high, might need a stool to get up on. Another inconvenient factor was the tea service set inside the cupboard, which made it extremely difficult to use. And there were no plug points within easy reach, you need to go crawling on the floor to locate one. The bathroom was also large with double basins, and good toiletteries but it took me a while to figure out the shower knobs for hot and cold water, and there were no shower curtains.
Ignore these small issues and you get a great stay in a delightful country house.

This was for a 3 night stay as part of a 2 week tour of Scotland for my wife's 50th birthday.
This was by far the best hotel we stayed at throughout our whole two weeks and 8 hotels, and 2 of those were 5 star hotels.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Graeme the Operations Manager, we felt like not only like we were valued guests, but that our stay was going to be pretty special, and it was. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, the hotel has its customer service perfected, and we couldn't have asked for better.
We stayed in one of the 2 best rooms, which overlooked the gardens and surrounding countryside, and was very grand with everything we needed, including a very comfortable large bed.
The food in the restaurant was superb at each meal, and the choice was perfect. As mentioned earlier, this was as part of my wife 50th birthday trip, and although her birthday had yet to arrive, we were treated to a bottle of prosecco from the management, and the chef baked a birthday cake, complete with a giant sparkler. To say we were touched would be an understatement, and no other hotel did anything at all.
The hotel is ideally situated to explore the area and attractions, and we only managed a handful of activities, and could have done so much more. The choice and quality of things to do in the area, could keep you entertained for weeks.
The only negative we have about Lake County House Hotel was that we left when we did, as we we wished we had stayed for a full week, at least.
If we are ever thinking of heading this way again, we would definitely return, no question about it, and we wouldn't even look at alternatives.
I have written this review after the full 2 week break to allow me to compare all hotels with each other, and this is just our personal experience.

It is just a piece of heaven, we just felt as home.
It was a great discover, as we use to go to Scotland for our holidays, and from now on, this will be the place to stay.
The best location to move around to visit the most famous sightseeings
The service is outstanding and the staff is always on step further of your needs.
Rooms are pefectly cleaned day by day, and the manager Gabriel is always taking care of his guests,
We will be back very soon, we are already looking forward

We wanted a very relaxed wedding and Chloe made it so easy from the planning to the day itself. She was great at keeping me right and giving advice. I had assumed beforehand that it would be a very expensive venue but it is very competitive with other venues in the area.
Graeme was our MC and it was clear he had an enormous amount of experience. He was calm, organised and dealt with anything that arose (like a guests dress splitting open!) professionally and efficiently. I felt we could immediately trust him and he made the day run so smoothly. We had a fairly late change of plan to get married outside and the hotel made it happen easily.
The food was absolutely delicious, we've had lots of compliments from it. I was particularly impressed with how they dealt with dietary requirements as my bridesmaid is Coeliac and she was able to have exactly what she chose from our menu with no changes, which is often not the case.
The hotel itself is beautifully done up with a pretty function room and big spacious bedrooms. There are plenty of places for people to spread out throughout the evening which was useful for some of our older guests who wanted some peace later on! The outside balcony area was perfect for our mini pipe band entertainment between the meal and dance.

We were booked for an afternoon tea and we booked this well in advance. We were advised that the hotel would set this up in the small room adjacent to dining room. When we arrived we were taken to the back of the dining room, although there were no other diners there. As we had a friend with us we did not want to make a fuss and ask them to set up the small room but did ask to get a table set at the window.
To say we were extremely disappointed with the whole experience would be an understatement. The service was atrocious. We were served the savoury tray first, which was lovely but we had to go and find a member of staff to ask for more tea/coffee. This then arrived and again we had a long wait before the cakes arrived. Again this was very disappointing. The cakes were nothing like as advertised on their website. Very plain, chocolate brownie, banana loaf and what looked like another dry cake (see attached photo). Everything looked and tasted the same. Even the scones were dry and far too big for an afternoon tea.
What was meant to be a special occasion became very run of the mill. We ended up taking the cakes home with us and actually throwing them out as once we tasted them we found them to be very dry and tasteless.
I would certainly not recommend this venue for an afternoon tea. Certainly not worth the money.
We did contact the hotel to complain but after approx 3 weeks we are still awaiting a response from them.

We booked as a venue for our daughter’s 21st Birthday Party. As locals to Inverness, we wouldn’t consider anywhere else! Arran made everything so perfect, even offering to supply a balloon display, birthday cake, dj, lighting etc. The food provided was delicious and all our guests dietary requirements were catered for. The venue offers superb comfort for all and the perfect dance floor for a celebration!

I stayed at this quite magnificent hotel when I had the huge honour of conducting a baby naming ceremony at the hotel, from checking in and being greeted by the GM to checking back out again our stay was in a word “perfect” we were allocated room 7 “Cruachan” which is of special significance to me personally and having stayed in the room on two previous occasions it was lovely to be given the same room again.
The staff (including the GM) we’re so kind and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay, the food served was a credit to the chefs from our buffet to breakfasts everything was delicious. To anyone visiting the Inverness area I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to you as you will receive from start to finish hospitality at its finest, special thanks to Chloe and Aaron and the lovely waitress who served our breakfasts (sorry I didn’t get her name.

From the moment we arrived at the Loch Ness House Hotel, we felt so comfortable and treated royally by Gabriel and his team. He escorted us through to a beautiful lounge with roaring log fire, where we were spoilt with the array of sumptuous sandwiches, cakes, macaroons and cheesecakes washed down with champagne and loose leaf tea. It really was a day to remember for all of us, and we will return in the very near future. Thank you again Gabriel for an unforgettable afternoon 🙏

We arrived yesterday afternoon to a friendly welcome at the front desk, and shown to our room which was tastefully decorated in keeping with the country house itself. The bathroom was modernised and very clean.
We had booked for dinner which we were really impressed with, scallops for starters were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We then indulged in the steak which was cooked to our preference, really well seasoned, the home cooked chips were the best I’ve ever tasted and went perfectly with their whisky sauce. Darren cooked our food to a very high standard, and again in the morning our breakfast was a really good choice of pastries, fruit, cooked breakfasts and an abundance of fruit juices.
Graeme was very pleasant to chat to and made sure our evening was lovely at every point.
We throughly recommend coming here and enjoying what this beautiful hotel has to offer!
Staff were attentive and very welcoming, the icing on the cake.

Typical English country villa, beautiful, surrounded by well-kept greenery, large room overlooking the garden, very old English furnishings.
Breakfast is chosen from the menu, vegan and non-vegan options, on the buffet you can find yogurt, cold cuts, fruit and some sweets.
In this hotel you can have dinner if you book well in advance, we were unable to do so.
Positive experience.🤩
