I stayed recently for a couple of nights whilst in Inverness where I had booked myself a single bedded room.
The room was small but bed was comfy & there was an en-suite shower, TV, also coffee/tea making facilities.
The hotel had plenty of car parking spaces & for breakfast I had a decent sized fry-up with the usual tea/coffee/toast (all served at the table due to virus restrictions); can't comment on evening meals as never dined there.
The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from town centre & the river which is really handy if you're not venturing very far, the main reason for my choice along with the price which I thought was very reasonable.
The hotel could in my opinion do with a bit of TLC hence the reason for 3 stars.

Arrived at the hotel later in the afternoon, parking was minimal but we eventually got a space. We were allocated a room across the road in the annexe were told we had a lovely room with a view of the castle we had a nice room and a castle view but also views of house roofs, gardens and the neighbouring decking. We had to go across the road for breakfast the breakfast room could be doing with a refurb and general freshen up it looks very tired, and carpet pretty grubby looking. Breakfast was very good on the second morning I took eggs benedict I have to say it was the best poached eggs I've had cooked to perfection, the portion was huge 2 x eggs 2 bacon , 2 rostie, I highly recommend it. Having stayed in many hotels in Inverness this was my first visit to Redcliffe I'm not sure it was vaue for money though £230 for 2 nights..

We visited yesterday as a group of eight. Had booked over a week ago yet when we arrived there was no booking and the staff argued whilst we waited to be seated. The outside area was very quiet so there was no problem with space? Once seated, some were given cushions whilst others weren’t and despite asking for them they never arrived. Might not sound a big deal but the chairs are really not comfy without them!

The food was lovely but the service was really abrupt and you felt like a nuisance asking for anything. My friend asked about a table for her husband next week and was told no without any checking. Another ordered pizza but was told no pizza until 3 pm despite the menu being provided and us watching pizzas being put in the oven? For a bill of £200 I feel there are better places to eat in Inverness. If they improved the service the score would be much better.

As soon as I walked up the steps and entered the Redcliffe , I had fallen in love with this hotel.
This amazing building oozes character, charm and has history.
Just sitting on the terrace and looking at that amazing view and sky is priceless.
I was frilled when I came across the door which takes you down the spiral staircase to the underground tunnel, which leads you down to the beach.
I was fortunate to be able to swim in the bay every afternoon.
Our room 603 was very spacious with a sea view, it was located in the tower.
The room was spotless the beds and pillows very comfy and it had everything you would need in it.
The breakfast menu had a good selection and everyone was very friendly who served us.
We did also eat from the bar menu and the food was very good.
The outside pool is great for a swim and Amanda who is on duty around the pool is fabulous.
I must stress all the colleagues at the Redcliffe are very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately for us we had to leave early due to a family emergency.
I have been told this hotel is going through a refurbishment, all I can say is it would be sad if they made this amazing building super modern, because it has old world charm.
I would love to come back and just sit in the beautiful lounge looking out to sea.
Thank you for an amazing stay.

So was just getting all packed up to go here for a short break with my husband and children and called the hotel to confirm check in times to discover that the owner Derek hadn't bothered to make our reservation. Actually called me a liar, said he hadn't said he would make the reservation even though he confirmed it in an email. He told me that it was down to me to check the booking and when I said I had tried to call with my card details and been told he would call me back after trying to get through for hours just told me that there was nothing he could do about it. Refused to find us any alternative accommodation stating that it wasn't his problem. Even said he had young children and if he was taking them away he would never just assume a booking was made...even though he clearly states in an email 'that's, great I will make the reservation for you', to the owner Derek this is not him confirming a reservation but giving a quote. Does not care one bit that he has spoiled our break away for the kids and lost me money at the same time. it could have all been avoided if he had agreed to pay the difference of £187 and have us accomadted at a hotel up the road but he refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing. Absolutely disgusting attitude for the owner of a hotel. Hopefully, future potential guests see this and steer well clear.

Horrible. Given a room downstairs that was dark, no air conditioning, or heating and stunk of stale cigarettes and overuse of cheap cleaning products. Room was so stuffy that we couldn’t breathe. Tried to open window, but cords were cut. Signs in room say towels aren’t changed daily due to cost. Staff extremely rude - even before we checked in the people before us were being told off.

On Arrival we were welcomed at reception and our cases were portered to our room.
The room 9 was a twin room with shower room and plenty hanging space. The beds were very comfortable and their was a dressing table with a mirror and tea and coffee making facilities. TV on the wall with many channels.
We dined in the hotel resteraunt the first night which had a good choice of food and served without too much of a wait.We also had wine with the meal.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent cooked breakfast superb and the Eggs Benadict so flavoursome.
If we are ever in Inverness again we would try to stay here.

We called this hotel for dinner for 2 around 6pm and just enquired when the next table would be available. We were told around 7 which was fine and told there was a bar to have drinks at before going through. Brilliant. We arrived and the young girl behind the bar was efficient. 7pm came and we went through. Ordered 2 starters and 2 mains with sides and drinks. Now don't get me wrong we got everything we asked for but the wait... The wait times were ridiculous!! Not at either the young girl or guys fault. They 2 were doing the best they could but an hour and 45 mins just to get it isn't good. The waiter and waitress were doing very well coping with what they had however there was NO support for either of them. When I got up they were also checking in guests. Overall food was soooo good, i would recommend the food. When they eventually got round to us they were both good at what they did but seriously support your staff!

We were given a subterranean room that looked up onto the patio at ground level. It was quite damp. So much so that our towels from our night time shower were still damp/wet the next night after dinner. I asked for fresh towels. They have a stated policy about not refreshing towels unless you stay more than three nights. I asked politely for fresh towels explaining that ours were still wet 24 hours later. The owner very reluctantly gave me towels. There was another couple in our group in the same situation and they asked for towels after i did. She actually told them that they would have to pay extra for fresh towels! Never before have i experienced this. I get the high price of laundry and not replacing towels automatically but the bathroom has a rack for four towels. Two towels and one hand towel are all that are provided for two people. The room was so damp my bag of laundry sitting in the closet overnight was quite damp as well and had originally only contained dry clothes. Do not recommend.

The rooms were very well equipped with a lot of storage spaces. The location of the hotel is also great- it’s just 5 minutes walk from the city center. But most important was the behavior of the staff! They were extremely friendly, cooperative and helpful. They always had a smile on their face… they always made us feel welcome and at home.
