A wonderful first night stay in Scotland! Upon arrival, we were immediately lulled into relaxation by the surrounding hills and greenery covered in sheep! Rosanne greeted us warmly and showed us to our lovely room. All had a simple yet high quality Highland feel. We were treated to a most amazing sheepdog demonstration by Iain, a most enthusiastic gentleman! breakfast in the conservatory with an all glass enclosure was doubly special between a delicious Scottish breakfast and beautiful view of the Highland countryside. we highly recommend staying at Leanach farm.

We stayed in the Farm Cottage for three nights to enjoy some much needed downtime during our two week UK road trip, which included our two children, 20 months old and 12 years old. Our stay at Leanach was the highlight of our vacation! Roseanne and Iain are wonderful, warm hosts. Iain welcomed our children to explore the farm and interact with the animals, which included adorable pygmy goats, horses, and sheep. We also booked the sheepdog demonstration which we cannot recommend enough! The cottage itself suited our family’s needs perfectly, with one of the best (and hottest!) showers we experienced on our trip, a cozy living room and bedrooms. A bonus was getting to watch Iain get the dogs going every morning from our kitchen window. The setting was magnificent, well situated to visit Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns, with an unassuming but surprisingly good pub a short walk down the road. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting with a warm and friendly atmosphere, we highly recommend Leanach Farm Cottage.

We didn't stay at the B&B but instead went for a working sheepdog demonstration with Iain. It was in the top three experiences during our entire vacation. Iain was absolutely delightful and gave a lengthy presentation with a young sheepdog and a working sheepdog. It was amazing to watch the dogs move a group of sheep in between obstacles. After the demonstration, we were able to meet the dogs and the sheep and take all the pictures we wanted. He also let us wander a bit and see goats, baby lambs, Highland cows, and other animals. I highly recommend setting up a demonstration!!

How refreshing is Leanach Farm, with top-level comfort and cleanliness, and spectacular scenery. We had a two twin-bed room that was spotless, comfortably warm, and convenient, having everything that you would expect in an urban hotel, but in a healthier setting. A Scottish breakfast that would be 25 pounds in a hotel (salmon, kipper, various breads and drinks), is had in a bright, windowed room overlooking farmsides and hillsides. Easy and uncomplicated check-in, check-out. Parking is plentiful right outside of the rooms. Service is genuine by people who care about this B&B and about you. Totally quiet at night, birdsong at dawn. Sheep, cattle, horses and goats are all pleasantly in view. The grounds are well-kept, neat, and lush. We came here after two restless nights in Edinburgh and found this to be our welcoming oasis. We would have loved to stay even longer and we plan to return.

We took our four kids on a month long trip to the UK and this sheepdog demonstration was the highlight of our whole trip. It's really one of the coolest thing we've ever seen and the thing we find ourselves telling everyone about now that we're home. The scenery is indescribably beautiful- brilliant greens on rolling hills as far as you can see and the Roseanne and Iain were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. We loved every minute and can't recommend it highly enough.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Leanach Farm cottage. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, the accommodation was truly lovely with all of the amenities for comfort that one could imagine, and the hospitality was lovely. The cottage is self-catering and has a beautiful, newly outfitted, full kitchen. Despite being in the self-catering unit, we elected to pay to have breakfasts at the Leanach Farm B&B which is just a few steps from the cottage. Breakfasts were delicious and were served in a spacious sunroom with views over the surrounding countryside. The house-baked scones were my favorite part. We were drawn to Leanach Farm because we hoped to be able to see some of their working border collies in action. Indeed, the night before we left, Iain met us out on one of his pastures with Jim and Jess who each followed Iain’s commands to bring in a small flock of sheep. It was stunning to watch them in action. Besides the sheep and dogs, the farm also has a pair of adult highland cows and we were even entertained by the antics of a baby “hairy coo” while we were there. Leanach Farm is 6 miles from Inverness, but we managed well without a car, using a taxi on a couple of occasions to visit town. We easily walked to both Culloden Battlefield and to Clava Cairns, as well as to a nearby pub for dinner. It was well worth staying a bit off the beaten track. Truly memorable!

During my trip to Inverness, I paid a visit to Leneach Farm for a shepherding demonstration. We did not have the pleasure of staying at the B&B, but this experience was well worth the visit. Ian was very kind and showed us the ropes of shepherding with his talented dogs. Definitely worth the trip for guests and others staying in Inverness!

The farm was really lovely. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Fantastic huge towels and a towel warmer. The breakfast was the best I have had on my stay. The view over the farm from the breakfast room is probably the most notable feature as noted by many reviewers it is spectacular. Around 8am the sheep come strolling up the hill to graze in the sun. The owners were very kind. We mentioned that we had planned to see a sheepdog trial, but it was canceled. Iain offered to show us his dogs in the morning. It was a great stay.

We stayed at Leanach for 2 nights and wish we stayed longer. Would definitely recommend if you are in Inverness. The town is about ~15 minutes drive from the farm and is very centrally located. Delicious breakfast and service by Andrea.
