Our hosts, Marion and Sean, must qualify as finalists in the “Nicest Hosts” competition. Marion was incredibly helpful and spent time and money assisting us with a booking.com problem. The home is a short, easy walk into town. There is a list of favourite pubs and restaurants in our room, and that proved correct. Breakfasts are lovely, parking is limited to two , not too big, vehicles. Our room was on the first floor, well furnished and spotless, as was the bathroom. Towels were replaced daily, a really nice touch. Without doubt, a most enjoyable experience and very highly recommended.

Large clean room and bathroom. Exceptionally kind owners that were incredibly helpful and fun! Easy walk to the heart of Inverness. Great breakfasts, especially the homemade plum preserves!! I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. If we go back to Inverness, we will stay here. Their dog is adorable.

We enjoyed our visit & Marion was a most lovely host. The room was very clean & furnished to a very good standard. Probably not quite that suitable for travellers with mobility constraints as the stairs you need to carry bags up are a little tight which are in keeping with beautiful period homes.

Lovely clean accommodation, about 10 minutes walk from centre. We had a “small” double room for 1 night and it was perfectly adequate. Limited wardrobe space if you were staying longer and limited shelving for toiletries in the shower room. Complimentary tea, coffee, chocolate and water plus shampoo and shower gel. Very friendly owners who provided a homely welcome and a delicious cooked breakfast. Happy to recommend

Lovely b&b only 5min walking distance from town centre. We arrived late due to a road accident on the A9, but I had called ahead to explain our situation. On arrival we were given jug of fresh milk for t+c in our room & a bottle of water straight from the fridge. Recommended.

Spent a very comfortable night here en route to Orkney. Very friendly welcome and good breakfast. Easy walk into centre of Inverness. Marion very helpful - tried to book restaurant table for us - we felt that nothing would be too much trouble .

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and end of driving NC500. Excellent location for this and easily walkable into centre of Inverness for restaurants. Hosts are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rang several restaurants for us to get a reservation for dinner. Accommodation is lovely, comfortable and spotless and fresh milk and water in the room is a nice touch. An excellent breakfast with lots of choices. Would not hesitate to recommend Strome Lodge and would definitely stay there again if in Inverness.

We stayed for 3 nights in a very comfortable bedroom with everything you could need.Marion and Shaun were the perfect hosts. The Breakfast table looked wonderful again with everything there.Juice, Porridge, Granola with fresh fruit/yoghurt and honey and of course full cooked breakfast. Coffee/Tea and plenty of toast. We would certainly stay again and highly recommend this Gem of a B&B.

We came to Inverness with the intention of completing the NC 500 route (probably the most beautiful drive we’ve ever undertaken) and needed a base to start/finish. We chose to stay at Strome Lodge which is ideally situated a 5 min walk from the town centre and also more importantly for us on an easy route in and out of Inverness. Owners Sean and Marion greeted us with a very warm welcome and immediately made us feel at home and showed us to our room which was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and the room always spotless and clean. The bathroom and the shower were fine and a previous review mentioned the water pressure being low which wasn’t a problem at all on our stay. Breakfast was a delight, everything is home cooked and you are given a large selection, including fresh fruits, cereals, porridge, croissants, and a gorgeous full breakfast including soda bread, black pudding, bacon, eggs, toast and beans. Definately worth having and a great start to the day. Sean and Marion are also very knowledgable about the area and can provide you with ideas about where to go, what to see, and also what to do in the evenings locally. The House itself is obviously a home too which greatly adds to the overall charm and Nacho the Fox Terrier just completes that, she’s a lovely friendly dog who loves attention. On the whole we can not recommend Strome Lodge enough, it’s clearly a labour of love and that reflects in the whole experience. Book and you won’t regret it!
