Perfection!!

We had a mix-up at the hotel Columba, where we were booked for a double room by mistake, we had to find an alternative hotel. Having seen the rooms at Columba, and for £150 a night (room only), we weren’t sorry to leave it as the rooms look very dated but we were only hoping for somewhere to sleep at this point as the town seemed busy.

We needn’t have worried one bit! We managed to book a family room at Heathmount hotel at the same price but including breakfast and it was Absolutely fantastic!! Arrival was smooth and we had a great big family room! Freshly ground coffee (yes, you heard that correct!!), smart lighting, walk-in shower, ample plug points with USB ports to charge everything!

Short walk to the town center, Scenic town and canal, Very friendly staff and everything one could have asked for from a good quality hotel! By this time, I was looking forward to our breakfast tomorrow, (secretly thinking I might be able to find a fault there!) But, not a chance of that!! Boy, what a breakfast it was!! (See photo)

Being a frequent traveler, I can happily rate this hotel experience as one of the best!! Our complements to everyone at this hotel!! Highly recommend this as oppose to others in the town centre!

I was a bit apprehensive when I arrived as my room was overlooking the outside bar area but I needn’t have worried. The staff ensured that the area was closed by 10pm and the room was quiet. Even the hotel across the road had the same policy.
I found the staff here to be really pleasant and friendly. I think it may be family run but I’m not sure. If it isn’t then even more credit to them as nothing was any bother.
We had an evening meal which was really nice in the restaurant area where we also had breakfast the following morning.
The hotel wasn’t too busy and the staff had time to chat and give us some information about the area.
As for the bedroom it appeared to have recently had a new bathroom as the shower was great and had both a normal shower head and a rainfall one. The bed was comfortable and king size.
The hotel has a private car park which is free to use.
All in all I would happily recommend staying at this hotel, it’s close to the city centre and reasonably priced.

Location is perfect - short walking distance to the centre however away from all the busy-ness so felt peaceful. Ryan greeted us on arrival, and at breakfast each morning, and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was included in our overnight stay price and was made fresh to order with plenty of choice. The room was clean and fresh, and the bed was extremely comfy. Shower was amazing!! We will definitely be back when we next visit Inverness.

I was expecting attention to detail from such a highly rated hotel. This was sadly not the case.
Room:
Good points: big comfy bed, clean room
Bad points: sloping roof on top floor makes it quite small, shower is very small

Breakfast:
Good points: tasty cooked breakfast
Bad points: 1 .Items on a breakfast menu that you have to pay extra for?? If a guest is already paying well over £100 per night, I do not expect to have to pay extra for a latte or some salmon.
2. The worst coffee I have actually ever tasted (such a simple thing to get right, so how can you get it so wrong with a huge coffee machine sitting by the bar?).
3. Porridge came with berries on first day and without on second,
4. The waiter/barman was clearly very stressed having lots of people seated at once and so forgot things we had ordered. Are they not trained to deal with lots of guests seated for breakfast?

Given that the breakfast experience was really quite poor, I would certainly not stay here again at these prices.

Whilst staying at a nearby B&B our host recommended that we try the Heathmount Hotel for some takeaway food in the evening. We visited 3 times during our holiday to Inverness (twice getting macaroni & chips) and once for haddock & chips. The portion sizes were excellent for the price and the food was always piping hot and delicious. The staff were always friendly whilst on the phone taking the order and in person when collecting it. We can't recommend this place enough especially if you are staying nearby and would like a decent filling dinner. We hope to return in the future.

This hotel is in easy access to the city centre and other facilities. The hotel has all the usual covid19 precautions in place and It also has an outside bar area. The hotel has a secure car park at the front so your car is safe, but it is open to the public. The room we had was at the top of the building and therefore may not be accessible to all visitors. The room was very clean and clean towels etc. is supplied daily.
The breakfast is the usual Scottish fair and is served at your table the staff are very friendly and helpfully. The evening dinner menu is very extensive considering the size of the facility.

We stayed at the Heathmount for four nights on our 10th anniversary trip to the Highlands. The hotel is absolutely wonderful. We stayed in a room on the top floor, which was smallish but very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The room was also quiet even on a night when the bar was full of drunken teachers celebrating the end of school year :D

The location is great, not at the very center of Inverness but just a short walk down the hill. You can walk everywhere in town. The breakfast was tasty and had many options. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food didn't disappoint. The bar has a great selection and I'd definitely recommend the cocktails and sampling the selection of different gins.

The best part, though, was the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. We would definitely stay here again!

I am allergic to feathers and stupidly forgot to advise the hotel of this on booking!
When we arrived I quickly realised the bedding (beautiful and fresh) had feathers in it. We contacted reception and the lovely young lady went looking for other non feather bedding. Unfortunately, the hotel did not have any and so she arranged very quickly for new bedding to be purchased. The staff really went out of their way to help, this coupled with the lovely room, good food and Covid secure practices made it a very enjoyable stay

Waited 20mins to get booked in room was small went down for my meal at 5:30 £40 bottle of wine arrived at the table open and full of floating bits and the temp of a cup of coffee. Ordered a steak at £29 the plate arrived swirling in blood ate a couple of chips left the rest the one waitress came to collect the plate all I got was a shrug of the shoulders when I complained.
Went upstairs and decided to check the bedding brown stained pillows and bed had a stale smell so slept in a chair went down first thing in the morning to complain got a shrug again was supposed to be there another night decided to check out instead and go to different hotel still charged full rate for all nights and £70 for the meal do yourself a favour stay well well clear of this place

Booked this at the last minute for a night on the 30th of December, family room for 4, proper beds for the kids and the room was very large and extremely nice and cosy! Large toilet with both a bath and shower. Place was spotlessly clean and price was excellent. Staff were all very nice, bar was well priced and a nice place to be. 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and in a nice area. If I’m back in Inverness I’ll know where to book!

Is the hotel in walking distance to bus and train station?
Answer from Heath99
Hello, Our hotel is 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Both the train and bus station are located centrally to the city centre.
Answer from Steve B

Onsite parking is limited and tends to fill quickly. However, we’ve always managed to squeeze in. The surrounding area is residential so it shouldn’t be too hard to find free on street parking within a 5 minute walk. So, pitch up, park if you can or, unload then find a spot nearby. Fir a bit of dining variety, we also recommend the Black Isle Bar for great beer and pizzas and is a 10 to 15 minute walk away.

Answer from Heath99
All our rooms are ensuite with private shower or bath apart from our budget room (room number 8 on our webiste). The budget room has its private but external bathroom across the coridoor from the bedroom at approx 7 to 8 metres away.
