A Victorian terraced townhouse, set on the banks of the river Ness and overlooking the Inverness Castle. Strathness House is a family-run guest house with all the facilities of a small hotel. Of the twelve rooms, eight have beautiful river and castle views. Situated in a prime area of the city centre, it is the ideal place to stay in Inverness where emphasis is placed on the guest with the personal service that is given by the staff.

Strathness House is a lovely B&B in Inverness. It's definiately an older building, but everything in Scotland is old, that's the charm. Our room was pretty small but it was on the street side with huge windows and a gorgeous river view. Our hosts were very friendly and provided

Strathness House has a very pleasant and convenient location on the river in Inverness. The main town with bars and restaurants is just a short walk up to the bridge and over the river. While the rooms are on the small side, the entire hotel is very clean and neat as a pin,

We had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights after finishing walking the Great Glen Way. Joan and Javed are fantastic hosts and the property/rooms nicely done and comfortable. It is located in the River Ness and a very short walk to town. A lovely place in a lovely city.

Only stayed on night but could not fault the place. Charming hosts, perfect breakfast, spotlessly clean - 10 out of 10. Our room had a view over the River Ness and although on the main road, very quiet during the night.

Is there parking?
PARKING NOTES: There is no parking directly at Strathness House; however there is an excellent car park 100 metres away (next to Cathedral). There is usually a small fee required (4.50GBP for 24 hours), however it is Free between 1800hrs and 0800hrs. On Ardross Street , which is also next to us there is some restricted parking, although there is free parking between 17.00hrs and 10.00hrs. Parking is usually not a problem When dropping of luggage and passengers at the House, there is a wide pavement outside the front door, which you can park on to unload and load. Please also note that the road in front of the House is One Way, going in the direction of having the river on your LEFT. If using GPS or Sat Navigation, you may not find us as some have failed to include Ardross Terrace. If you look for Ness Walk, the Cathedral or Ardross Street – we are facing the river, on Ness Walk and opposite the Cathedral.

Sorry, I was so late in responding. I asked around some of the restaurants nearby and they did not seem keen to do this. many are governed by Health and Safety which makes it difficult to take food into a kitchen, that has not been approved by them . However, do not be dispondant as I am sure that we will find somewhere. Please give another name for your group, as I do not have the name Leighton.

Do they serve dinner?
Unfortunately no, we do not serve dinner. However we are more than happy to recommend some restaurants nearby. They are all within easy walking distance
