I have stayed in dozens or even hundreds of hotels but I have never felt more at home than I did at Strathness House. My wife and I stayed here for nine nights in July 2013, and felt so welcome and appreciated that it was like staying with dear friends (without the awkwardness of trying to guess when you've outstayed...

Have stayed at Strathness House previously. Very convenient location on the riverside, with restaurants near by. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but still in acceptable condition. The rooms can be awkwardly shaped and this time we could not find enough floor space to set down two suitcases and open them. There is no lift, so one must carry...

Thank you for taking time to review your stay. It seems that you did not really enjoy your stay, and for that we are sorry especially when you stated that you had previously stayed. We do not agree about your statement that the house ,is a bit dated. Thankfully, not everyone has the same taste. It is clearly stated that...

We only stayed at Strathness House for one night. We arrived late after a long bus ride, and the owners were wonderfully accommodating. They even chilled our cider for us so we could enjoy a nightcap in the room! The bed was comfortable and the shower was clean and high-pressure. Breakfast was more limited in selection than some of the...

We stayed 1 night at Strathness House and it was lovely. It sits right across a one way street from the River Ness and we saw a man in hip waders fishing in the river! There's a pedestrian bridge to cross over the river quite close. Very peaceful and quiet and very lovely. The rooms are small but the innkeepers...

Eight of us stayed for three nights while on a golf tour of the Highlands and St. Andrews. We were very happy with the accommodations and were particularly happy with the attention we got from Javed and Joan. Whether it was storing our clubs or making suggestions and reservations for dinner or making sure our breakfast needs were satisfied, Javed...

The location could not be beat, and our room was quiet with a beautiful view. Fresh milk for tea is available upon request! Owners were lovely and helpful with restaurant recommendations. Full breakfast is very tasty.

We had 2 rooms river view. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Best place in town which was not super nice. We stayed one night which is about enough if just seeing Inverness. The hotel was just great.

I must admit that this was not our first choice, but everything else was fully booked and we thus arrived with some trepidation, which turned out to be unfounded. Yes, this looks, feels and behaves more like a B&B than a hotel, but it is very comfortable and friendly. Best of all it is located right on the river, next...

An awesome and reasonably-priced hotel with a beautiful view of the river Ness. The owners could not be friendlier and they do it all from breakfast to helping you with your bags. My wife's hair straightner happened to bite the dust during our trip and one of the owner's loaned my wife her personal straightener! Chain hotels do not have...

Our stay at Strathness House was very enjoyable. Joan and Javed were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the area. Our room offered a beautiful view of the River Ness, and we were within easy walking distance of much of Inverness.
