The Acorn Guest House is impeccably clean and carefully decorated. The Squirrel Room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, thoughtfully appointed with kettle, coffee, tea, biscuits. The location of the inn is ideal, on a quiet street with parking in the rear, within easy walking distance to shops & restaurants. Liz prepared delicious and beautiful breakfasts for us. She was very attentive to our needs & tastes, making sure we were happy with options she prepared for us as vegetarians. She provided for our needs as we brought in take away for dinner one evening. Liz graciously prepared generous and tasty take-away breakfasts for us as we had a very early outbound flight. Liz demonstrated sincere interest in our plans and any needs we might have. She is proud of her Scottish heritage and made us feel welcome as visitors to her home, her city, and her country.

Based on the other guest houses we passed as we walked and drove around Inverness, the location and careful keeping of the Acorn stood out as especially appealing. Any traveler staying at the Acorn Guest House will feel welcomed and happy they chose to stay.

The Acorn Guest House and its proprietors, Elizabeth and Grant were a highlight in our trip in Scotland. The home is lovely and well-appointed. Breakfast was delicious - highly recommend getting the full Scottish breakfast. The house is within walking distance to downtown Inverness and Elizabeth offered many recommendations for where to eat. They were also very personable hosts and offered us many suggestions of places to visit nearby. A wonderful place to stay!

This was a very late booking as our original B&B was going to provide ‘breakfast in a bag’. Covid was given as the reason but we have not had that problem at other locations. The subsequent booking turned out to be full but they helped us relocate to Acorn Guest House which turned out to be fine. Perhaps the breakfast would benefit from fresher pastries but overall it was a god experience with a friendly owner. Good value

I stayed for a few nights for a work trip and I’m really happy we were able to get these rooms at relatively short notice thanks to a cancellation. My room was well kitted out with everything I needed and even a few little extras. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great - really set me up for a long day. I’m quite fussy about cleanliness in guest accommodation and I think this was possibly the cleanest guest house I’ve ever stayed in. I think you’d struggle to get better value for money in this category of accommodation. Definitely recommended and I will visit again in future with my family!

I stayed at the Acorn on 29th/30thApril and enjoyed the great hospitality from the hosts Grant and Liz so much that I extended my stay for a further 2 nights. The Acorn is a wonderful and extremely friendly Guest House. It is in a prime location near Eden Court theatre and a 5 minute walk to the City centre. Yet it is a tranquil and a peaceful setting. The house is beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish tartan and themes and the en-suite rooms are both spacious and immaculately clean. There is a fantastic vibe about the place and Liz is a magnificent kind host… nothing is too much trouble. Grant is gregarious and incredibly good company. This was the best Guesthouse stay I have ever experienced in my 64 years and I have already booked to go back in early August. Trust me and be sure to get booked early as this magical abode will no doubt become a popular and in demand retreat! One visit and you’ll be a regular. Thank you Grant and Liz for the wonderful experience and hospitality .Steve P.

Liz greeted us with a warm welcome. Her beautiful Acorn home is conveniently located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and shopping and the Eden theatre. The Acorn home is warm and spotless. Liz provided us with all of the necessary amenities along with her pleasant conversation and local advice on where to go. She gave us breakfast choices each morning of our 2 night stay including what type of bread we prefer. She offers many options to accommodate the pickiest eaters. We can’t recommend Th Acorn house enough. Simply said it’s lovely!

We stayed only one night at Acorn Guest house, but would have liked to stay a bit longer. The rooms were clean and charming. Liz cooks a wonderful breakfast. She told us about a wonderful restaurant nearby, and directed us to the local bakery, where you could see the bread being baked, while enjoying your coffee. But most of all we enjoyed our conversation with Liz. We recommend this b&b to all travellers to Inverness!

One of the best B&Bs we've stayed in! The entire place was very clean and our room was spacious and comfortable. The owner was extremely friendly, courteous and hospitable - honestly she was one of our favorite parts about this place. The location was within walking distance of the city but tucked away in a cozy neighborhood far enough away for privacy and relaxation. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Inverness!

Pretty cottage a stone's throw from the town center on foot but quiet. Large, cozy rooms with impeccable cleanliness. The owner welcomes you and gives you information with kindness. THE BREAKFAST IS EXCELLENT (eggs prepared à la minute with salmon or sausage or avocado) plus pastries, toast.. perfect

On our way to the Outer Hebrides we spent three days in Inverness in the Acorn Guesthouse. We can highly recommend it.
The whole house is lovingly furnished and decorated with Scottish motifs. Our thistle room and the bathroom were spotless. There are several parking spaces in front of the house, which is in a quiet location. It is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station and the center.
Liz cooks her guests a delicious warm British breakfast and also caters to their individual wishes. You must try the avocado toast!
She is very helpful and has lots of tips and ideas for Inverness and the surrounding area. Thank you for the lovely days, dear Liz!
