Very friendly hoest and excellent breakfast. The rooms I'm afraid are not as good as the hoests. Not very clean and some of them small. our friends had a room on top, this would be for short people, tall one's can't sit in bead whiteout bangin' the head on the ceiling. The one we where in fist is only suitable for a small suitcase the other case would have to be on the bed. The nice lady let us have the bigger one. A chandelier with 3 bulps, only one working, but on the 3 th night someone above us dropet a heavy case and miraculous a 2 nth bulp came on, very funny. If you have a room out front out front then you get a nice view. The place is good for one night. Our
What a lovely guest house this is. Beautifully decorated, with marvellous views. And a warm friendly family. And a perfect Full Scottish Breakfast to set you up for the day. a great location too near the castle and main centre of town. Pet friendly too the Landlady even gave our wee dog some sausages for our picnic lunch. 5 Stars from us.
Cavell House is an absolute delight. It is ideally located, only a short walk along the banks of the River Ness, to the city centre. The room I had was larger than most B&B I have stayed in, and decorated delightfully. Spotlessly clean and terrific toiletries. Whilst I did not have the breakfast, I can only assume it would be a treat, based on the quality of the establishment. I would not hesitate to stay here again, nor to recommend my friends & family to do likewise.
A wonderful Bed & Breakfast in the City Centre of Inverness. Our Hostess & Owner, Camilla, was absolutely lovely & her rooms were very clean, Big & nice. Her breakfast was fabulous, & she cooked one of the best Scottish breakfasts we’ve had! We will stay there again, when we come back to Scotland!!
The hostess here was friendly, and nice. I was greeted when I arrived by a young man without a shirt, who said told me to wait, and shut the door. Within a minute or two the hostess came. This house is furnished with tons of lovely antiques, but is generally worn out, some items in places, really worn. Now, I do not know if all the rooms were like mine, but the wallpaper was a mess. And there was the smell of rotting wood. If you have ever done any housing restoration you would recognize the smell of that, and there was some black mold in my bathroom. The carpet looked new, but also had some sort of odor. Now, the other rooms may not have been like this, but mine was. The place was fully booked, I already knew because she had told me when I arrived. I tried to find another room in town when I went to dinner, because even though I had prepaid for two nights and would not get a refund, I was still willing to pay and argue with my travel company over it later. But everything was booked. I could not move somewhere else. So, I just decided to stay away from the B and B as much as possible. Just long enough to sleep, and take a quick shower. I spent my entire evening out walking before and after dinner, and the next day I was gone all day. I just due to the odor in my room, could not help but wonder what the areas I could not see looked like and how clean they were, and the first morning I ordered a full breakfast, not nearly as good as what I had at the other B and B's I had been at on this hike, so the second morning just had toast and tea. I really only gave this place 2 stars due to how friendly the hostess was. Very good conversationalist, and she has great tastes in antiques. But I personally do not recommend anyone go here, or in case my room was the only one like this, ask to see the room before you pay..…
