Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just returned from a wonderful 5 day stay at this guest house. We have visited several times since Cathy and Steve opened in 2016. Every visit is perfect. Breakfasts are very filling and the rooms are immaculate. Lots of little touches such as toiletries and shortbread. Perfect location and thank you for even arranging the sunshine (and snow capped mountains). We will be returning.

Thank you for your lovely review. It is always a pleasure to welcome you back to our home. We are really pleased that you had such a perfect time. From enjoying our hearty breakfast to our comfortable and clean rooms, and the locally produced shortbread. We do also sometimes get some blue in the sky and when the snow is on the mountains it really does make it look even more incredible!! We would love to see you again very soon. Kind regards. Steve and Cathy.

Cathy and Steve were the perfect hosts, we couldn't have asked for more from this Guest House. Spotlessly clean, amazingly comfortable, above and beyond service, and a wealth of local recommendations and knowledge. We had everything we needed, and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely and there were plenty of options available. Thank you so much, we would go out of our way to come here again!

Steve and Cathy are fabulous hosts. They arranged dinner reservations at their recommended restaurants for our stay and gave us advice on what was walkable in the area. We stayed in the family room, which was a few steps down from the entrance and marvelously cool since it was unseasonably warm. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and bird feeders.

Thank you for your fantastic review. We are really pleased that you had such a great stay with us and found our locality easy for your walking needs. We very much appreciate your kind comments towards us in regards to our hospitality. Yes, the weather has been extremely unusually Scottish with temperatures hitting above 30 degrees at times, so we are pleased that we were able to keep the rooms cool for you. The birds do get very hungry and we seem to have even more this year than previously, but it is lovely to watch at breakfast, as long as Domino doesn't chase them off!! Was lovely to meet you, hopefully we may see you again soon. Kind regards. Steve and Cathy.

It's really cute, cosy, very comfortable, great location. Actually, I'm really glad we ended up staying here. Photos won't do it justice. This hotel is in immaculate condition and well looked after, which makes it look like it was only renovated yesterday. Some Scottish hotels have a tenancy for being a bit "tired" (part of their charm/history?) Thankfully this was certainly not the case here. I can understand why they are currently rated number 1 on all the main review sites. Fresh room,. Felt very comfortable. The room, while modern in design, was cosy while having all the facilities you'd expect. And more- they ad hot chocolate in the room!! Bonus points The only thing I'd say is there should have been plugs on both sides of the bed. (These days people and their phones/tech!) The bathroom is modern, very nice and presented very well. Breakfast is served in the conservatory, which overlooks the lovely garden and their pet! area is spacious and fresh while feeling cosy and well looked after. Breakfast was REALLY good every morning. Good quality and delicious. Perfect setup for the day, and the hosts made sure we had everything we needed. So the important part- perfectly located for access to the 2 main reasons to be up in this part of the UK: Foot of Ben nevis (short drive no matter where you stay) Very short walk to the Jacobite railway/Hogwarts express Short walk into FortWilliam town to enjoy the area and down to the loch As well as the neptunes steps, the walk to Steall waterfall (absolutely worth the walk. It's stunning), Glenfinnan Viaduct, The road in front of the hotel was quiet. I'm really glad i didn't stay overlooking the loch with main road traffic constantly streaming past. Great car park at the side of the hotel, which you'll be really grateful about. There is so much more to say, but I'd like to keep it simple: Would I stay again? Absolutely! So clean! We had just finished the WHW and felt guilty going in, but our host was so nice and even did our laundry. It is right on the WHW, just before the end. Bed was super comfortable, breakfast was great and we even got a wonderful to go breakfast the second day as we were leaving early. Picked up our rental car the second day and there was plenty of parking space in the yard.
