Beautiful location and accommodations. We loved the view from the room. The food for the evening meal as well as breakfast was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We spent only one night at the Ardrhu House in Fort William and wish we spent longer. Alex and Kaitlyn were amazing hosts. We loved the cozy yet elegant atmosphere of the whole place. The views are amazing and the glass room that we were able to eat breakfast in while looking out at the water and mountains was incredible. We loved the grand room with a fireplace with real wood logs and comfy couches. A perfect place to sit, relax, drink wine, play board games, read or just chat with our friends. The food and drinks were delicious and nice variety. Ardrhu House was one place that actually looks in person as it does online. I loved it here and could have stayed so much longer.

This place is in a beautiful spot and they capitalize on it by falsely advertising their accommodations. My wife and I booked for one night with another couple. Our friends were given the “garden suite” which was a tiny windowless room right next to the kitchen. For almost $400 it was a complete scam. Our room was decent but our bathroom was across the hall. A really weird and uncomfortable place with a great view. This place should just be honest about their rooms and charge less for the subpar “garden rooms”. The breakfast was the worst we gad on our 2 week trip in Scotland. The dinner was mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Afternoon tea was served in the conservatory with a spectacular view of the loch. Sandwiches were delicious accompanied by a small cup of soup. Scones were light and freshly baked with jam and cream. A selection of cakes and pastries along with strawberries and raspberries were beautifully arranged on the cake stand and tasted as good as they looked. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Really enjoyed our visit to Ardrhu House.

My husband and I, along with another couple, booked this hotel during our two week trip to Scotland for my birthday celebration. This was the worst and most expensive hotel on the trip by far. We checked in and were shown the downstairs garden room. It was basically a converted kitchen storage room and public bathroom next to the kitchen, dining table and observatory. I was laying in bed listening to the clanging of utensils, dishes, cups, water turning off and on in the sink, people in the kitchen talking and guests asking questions. The bathroom has two entrances, one from our room and the other which was covered by a shelf in the kitchen. You have to keep the doors locked at all times. I was trying to take a nap and a guest walked in on me thinking my room was the bathroom. The other door led to the outside and the only thing I could see was the white wall…..ZERO VIEW. The room was decorated with very random decor with no thought put into it at all. The bathroom was dark, with no mirror above the sink and no glass in the shower. The sink did have two grab bars on either side above the sink???? If you want a romantic evening, it’s NOT going to happen in this room…EVER. Everyone can hear everything you are saying. To make it worse, the hotel has these Google dots everywhere so it’s always recording…..some guests complained about this as well. The dinner was ok. The breakfast was the worst we had the entire trip. They don’t have a bar. They are not accommodating for food allergies. One member of our party had allergy issues and at breakfast they asked for allergy free food and were told they didn’t have any and blamed my friend for not letting them know in advance. Her spouse pulled up the email where he asked and notified them well in advance and they said they would have no problem with her request. The hotel went and looked for the email to “prove” they hadn’t been notified. However once they discovered it was their mistake they all of a sudden came up with tons of options for my friend. Our friends room was nicer but the bathroom was across the hall. The only reason this place has two stars is because they have a gorgeous view and I didn’t find bedbugs.

It’s a lovely lovely place with gorgeous surroundings. Don’t come expecting a hotel style - it’s lovely and informal and the rooms are gorgeous. Very dog friendly and surrounding area is amazing. HOWEVER - if bringing a dog be careful as there are mushrooms going in the gardens which I wasn’t warned about (im sure they don’t know - I did flag!) and resulted in a bit of an urgent trip to the vets because my dog ate one. Just be careful and consider keeping your dog on a lead

Room Tip: If you have a dog the garden rooms are super handy. Watch out for mushrooms in the garden.

This is a wonderful little guest house, beautifully decorated and in a stunning location. We stayed in the new garden room as we had two small dogs with us. this gives you direct access to the gardens which was perfect. The room is located underneath the hot tub which is switched on at 9am and is a little noisy if you were wanting to sleep in, but most likely you will want to be up for the delicious continental breakfast which includes bagels, croissants, cheese, ham, fresh fruit along with the usual yoghurts and cereal. We had been in Scotland for a week when we arrived here and at no point had we been given the option of such an extensive continental breakfast just standard cooked breakfast of which we were quite bored by this stage. In addition a cream tea is served in the afternoon which is included in your rate and is also delicious. Dinner needs to be ordered in advanced, which seems standards for the small hotels in Scotland. We ate once during our two night stay, the menu is limited but the food is very good - not as pretentious as fine dining but better than pub food. We had a rainy day and there is a super cosy lounge for sitting and reading, along with a unique armchair looking over the loch in the turret and a glamourous conservatory for drinks or afternoon tea. There is also a small spa and a hot tub looking over the loch which guests can use in the evening. Highly recommended.

Delightful hotel in a beautiful setting. We loved looking out at the loch from our room's window --- felt like we were directly on the water. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we wish we could have stayed longer!

The hotel's main selling point is its location on the banks of Loch Linnhe. It has fantastic views .... when the weather is clear. We had a warm reception by the young Canadian couple, who were only too pleased to help; they were very friendly and chatty and offered us a cream tea in the conservatory; a nice touch upon arrival. The whole house and the lounge in particular is a very quirky, eclectic mix of styles with an 'arty' feel. My OH and I stayed in the Emperor room overlooking Loch Linnhe. Again, like the rest of the house, it had mixed decor but was really comfortable with great view of the Loch. It was warm and cosy. The only downside to the room was the private bathroom being across the hall, separate from the bedroom. The arrangement wouldn't suit everyone and although I found it a mild inconvenience this was offset by the size and splendor of the bathroom itself. The food is perhaps the only let down for the Ardrhu. They have a strange arrangement of asking you for your meal choices from a limited 3 course menu a week or so before you arrive. Although I didn't ask, I did wonder (given the staffing arrangements) if the meals are actually prepared off site and brought in from elsewhere. The meals themselves were ok, but not fine-dining. For starters we had the squid and brie and cranberry parcels, followed by the confit duck and sea bass. My OH said the duck was excellent and a match for any we've had in France. My sea bass was passable. My cheesecake dessert was good. For 3 courses, £45 a head seemed expensive. Breakfast is another odd arrangement. There are no warm / cooked dishes, only a selection of cold (albeit good) 'continental breakfast' style dishes you can eat in the conservatory. Again, this wouldn't suit everyone but it was OK for me. Overall, it was a nice place to stay but not great VFM. We stayed in a 1-star Michelin 'restaurant with rooms' a few days earlier, and had a comparable room plus their 8-course tasting menu for less.

From the minute we drove down the driveway, Ardrhu House, overlooking Loch Linnhe looked like a beautiful manor in a fairy tale. We were welcomed right away by the wonderful staff with tea and cake. The room I stayed in was quiet, well appointed and with every convenience. I would welcome the opportunity to stay there again.
