Detailed Reviews
If you're looking for affordable luxury then look no further! The Grange most certainly has the 'wow' factor! For the same price as a generic chain hotel in Fort William you can get a luxurious hideaway with beautiful quirky and thoughtful personal touches. With the added bonus of having more space, being peaceful and having a delicious homemade breakfast delivered to your room in the morning (by the wonderful host Joan) which you can enjoy in the room or on the patio whilst soaking up the stunning mountain views and Loch Linnhe.
We stayed in The Garden Room and it genuinely feels like you're in the countryside (we even had a baby deer pass the window) yet just minutes walking distance from the town.
I honestly can't recommend The Grange enough - it's everything we wanted and a whole lot more and it's great to support the smaller businesses who work so hard in this industry.

The Grange B&B, in Ft William, Scotland, is, quite simply, the nicest B&B that I’ve ever experienced. Every detail is skillfully provided by the proprietor, Joan, right down to the little doggie door stops which held open the “secret door” leading from the living room to the bedroom. The place was kept immaculately clean and well appointed, with unusual attention to every detail. Our room was ready even though we arrived far ahead of schedule, as we kept in touch throughout the day via e-mail, and Joan made sure we didn’t have to wait.
Furnishings, fixtures and accents were tastefully updated, including a rainfall waterfall shower system with rain massage body jets in the spacious bathroom, which was just off the large bedroom. The bedroom had a private terrace overlooking Loch Linnhe and the beautiful nearby Scottish mountains.
We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, with plenty of diverse options, brought to our room each morning, and filled with all manner of variety. It was a great way to begin our days there.
The B&B is a short walk to a pedestrian-friendly downtown, where there are a variety of restaurants and shops, a couple nice museums, and lots of businesses catering to the trekking and climbing crowd that frequents to take advantage of the proximity to Ben Nevis.
Should we ever make it back to Scotland, this place will be our first choice for lodging. Joan was a delight, the scenery was spectacular, the food was great, and the B&B itself simply cannot be improved.
Of all the places we stayed in Scotland over a two-week sojourn which included Edinburgh, Glasgow, Skye, Inverness, St. Andrews and Ft. William, The Grange B&B was the best value, and frankly the most luxurious of all our accommodations.

My wife and I spent 4 glorious nights at the Grange in September. We stayed in the terrace suite, which is a large, beautifully-furnished 2-room suite with a super-king bed, complete with two terraces, one looking out on Loch Linnhe. The owners, Jenny and Neil, are terrific hosts, who respect your privacy but are happy to provide helpful advice and of course their wonderful breakfasts. The Grange is located in walking distance to good restaurants in Ft William, and we used it as a jumping off place for hiking in the Glencoe Valley, touring Loch Ness, and exploring the far reaches of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend!! We booked the Garden Suite, and it was absolute paradise. Separate from the main house, it had a private patio, spectacular views, large bathtub in addition to shower, and a luxurious bed. Host Joan goes above and beyond, personalizing your stay and delivering freshly cooked breakfast to your room each morning. The grounds are beautiful, and it is also a scenic 15 minute walk into town. We loved our stay here, and can't wait to return!

We stayed at this property for two nights in July. It is at the top of a steep hill with sweeping views over the loch. Approached via an electric gate, once inside the grounds the Terrace Suite, where we were accommodated, has it's own private entrance with outside seating at both the front and rear. It's once you step inside that the full splendour of this accommodation becomes apparent. The Terrace Suite is formed from a couple of rooms at the rear of the main property with a modern extension forming the lounge. the craftsmanship and attention to detail is impressive; we wish we'd stayed for longer to enjoy the full benefit of the property. A nice touch was the welcome bottle of prosecco. Breakfast is brought to the suite and comprised a good choice of both hot and cold dishes, served in generous portions. When you can bear to leave, Fort William is a short walk away either on the low road by the loch or the high road past the local shop.
A word of warning: if you want to experience the absolute delight of a stay at this property, you'd better be quick. The owners are contemplating retirement!

The Grange, Fort William, is not only a beautiful house with wonderful views, it is the perfect place to stay to explore Lochaber.
We stayed in The Terrace Suite which has three large rooms - bedroom, sitting room and bathroom - plus two private terraces, one with stunning views over the pretty gardens and Loch Linnhe.
The rooms are beautifully and luxuriously furnished with lots of personal touches to make guests feel at home, and the breakfasts are both delicious and imaginative, catering for all tastes.
Joan and her team give guests a very warm welcome and are on hand with help and advice to make your stay perfect. Can’t recommend The Grange highly enough!

Superb hospitality from Joan and John..
The Victorian house and its location are stunning with south views over the sea Loch.
Joan’s home cooked breakfast was excellent, and her Mother’s honey and marmalade are first class.
We were extremely lucky with the weather, to make full use of the patios furniture outside the rooms for breakfasts and to enjoy complementary pre dinner Proseccos.
Rooms are fully equipped, with quality towels, bedding etc and immaculate cleanliness.
Easy walk into town for seafood restaurant (Crannog), pubs, train station
A great advert for Scottish hospitality

5 star accommodation with a 5 star host. We were welcomed by the owner and shown around her amazing Garden Suite which we wholely reccomend. We were then left to our stay which was lovely to get some peace and quiet.
The place wasn't just clean it was surgically clean. And this high level of attention to detail was evident throughout the room.
The shower and bath were particular highlights as was the private bistro table on a private patio overlooking the lock.
On arrival we were left a bottle of prosseco in the fridge with chilled glasses and the bed is one of the most comfortable things in the world. Literally didn't want to leave it at the crack of dawn to climb Ben Nevis.
Thank you!

1st class accommodation at The Grange Fort William. We stayed in The Terrace Suite which was a beautifully decorated large room, a separate lounge with plenty of storage in both. The whole place was immaculately clean. Super King size bed, double shower cubicle, a patio set on the courtyard and a view of the Loch to die for. Jenny and Neil couldn't do enough for us with a lovely welcome, excellent breakfasts (lots to choose from) and several great recommendations for local attractions and places to eat. Only a ten minute walk into town. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

The Grange Garden suite is a real Gem! It's spotlessly clean . Joan (the host) has really thought of everything you could possibly need in this haven The view is stunning and the breakfast which is delivered to your door is so good!
We cannot fault this Gem and to top it all you'll be given such a warm welcome and send off.

Hello, we booked our own in advance, this is a small guest house not a hotel as such, that being said the owner Jean is so helpful you can always ring her for advice -
Be aware certain trips and resturants book up well in advance so I would want these sorted before arriving.
I have passed your enquiry to Joan who will respond a little later.
Thanks for your enquiry and best wishes.
