In general we had a pleasant stay there with all the amenities that you would need. The hotel is itself located about 10 minute’s walk from the main shopping/ restaurant area of Fort William

Because of the current situation we had little interaction with the hotel staff other than checking in/ out or going on our way. Depending on the day any of the interaction was met with some enthusiasm or very little (luckily it was the first one)

Room was comfortable and clean and serviced every day unlike some of the other hotels we stayed at during our stay. Not sure why we received fresh towels everyday despite trying to follow the policy of not requesting fresh ones

We also did not partake in any meals on the premises (none were included in the price of our stay) as we had already pre-booked our meals elsewhere. The hotel does offer breakfast, main meal as well as packed lunches

Parking was limited at the hotel, but an overflow car park was available a couple of minutes down the road

Minor inconveniences included:
With no Air Conditioning we tried sleeping with the window open. But in the end we closed it because of the noise coming from the chiller unit below the window. This you could eventually get used to, but the most annoying thing was that someone smoked in the vicinity. This raged from normal cigarettes to the “weed” variety (despite this being a Non-smoking hotel)
Shower pressure was low
Another annoying thing was the scaffolding directly outside the window which looks like it hasn’t been in use for some time.

Would I stay there again? Not really, as I don’t think that it justified the rather high price (£145) per night for the accommodation

Another trip to Scotland, another perfect stay.

2nd stay at the Nevis Bank inn, same room, same team, same perfect customer service and hospitality, despite COVID the team excelled again this year.

That pretty much sums up our second stay here in suite 36, the only thing really to add is before we left, we booked next year.

Ok maybe a little more detail for those who want to know more.

first the COVID bit, hand sanitisers on all major doors, screens in reception, they removed the bar sofas and distanced the tables and to make it even better they put screens hanging down from the ceiling so each table it totally isolated, we felt totally safe and totally isolated.

All staff wearing PPE, keeping their distance, and always thinking of the customer first.

So now you are thinking, no sofas for a drink, nope, they are still doing drinks but at your own personal isolated table.

Breakfast was ordered the night before and served within minutes of arrival, for an extra amount they will also do you a pack lunch, and it’s yummy I might add (especially up a long hike up Ben Nevis).

Dinner service was as always perfect, great food, great service, you won’t complain.

I suppose I should say a bit about forte William, it’s been our home from home for a few years now, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, some say a bit rugged / industrial, but it can’t be a fairy tail with Ben Nevis as it’s back drop, direct translation from the Gaelic name “Beinn Nibheis”. “Beinn” is a common Gaelic word for “mountain”, “Nibheis” is usually translated as “malicious” or “venomous”.

It’s a big mountain, but will watch over you while you stay 😜

Can’t recommend this accommodation or this team enough, we haven’t been disappointed, We don’t think you will either.

We visited the Nevis Bank Inn for one night for my husband's 50th birthday. We booked directly with the hotel who were very accommodating and able to offer much better rates than those advertised on any of the Internet booking sites.

We arrived via the Caledonian Sleeper so arrived into Fort William just after 10 in the morning. The hotel allowed us to drop our bags into our room early which enabled us to spend the rest of the day unencumbered by bags.

We had booked a small double but I can only assume we were given an upgrade as I have never slept in such a large bed. The bed was extremely comfortable with quality linen and pillows.

The room was very spacious with a good sized bathroom. The water for the bath was very hot and plenti⁰ful. I loved the towels as they were massive and wrapped around me. (Curvy girl towels sometimes not adequate).

The room had good tea and coffee making facilities including biscuits although we didn't make use of them.

We had our evening meal in Brown's restaurant and it was simply delicious. My husband had the Haggis bon boys to start - a revelation as we'd never tried haggis before but these were delicious. I had the tempura Cauliflower which was fantastic. Main course: ox cheeks for my husband and I had the Salmon with Scallops and Chorizo. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. Although by now we were both quite full, we allowed ourselves yo be tempted by a rum soaked plum and frangipane tart served with marzipan ice cream. It was divine.

We enjoyed a bottle of Rose - White Zinfandel which complemented both meals.

A fantastic night's sleep was followed by a great breakfast once again served in Brown's. The choice was

I am leaving a review during what must be a difficult time for the hotel, and this hotel has some pros and cons as we see it over a full weeks stay.
A big plus for this hotel is its helpful staff and cleanliness. The sheets were changed every day except the Sunday. The staff are very quick to serve meals, and always enquire about your day. Its a nice touch and they respect covid 19 safety by masks on everyone in the hotel, except when eating. There are sanitiser stations everywhere.
We occupied the disabled room on the ground floor as it was all they had for a full week stay. That was fine, but a big negative was that smokers congregate directly outside our room, and their smoke came through our bedroom window making the room and our belongings smell of smoke.
The bathroom window backs on to a tumble dryer service area which you hear the noise from the kitchen and driers.
Because of Covid we were asked to leave all windows open but this became impossible to do and people stood outside our room talking at all times gave us little privacy or any fresh air. Reception was told but nothing done. A sign or dedicated shelter perhaps?

The breakfasts are good with plenty of choice, no complaints at all there. However evening meal choices have changed from the website we saw, and been reduced during covid to fewer selections that are not particularly good value (especially the steak meal at 28.45 each) It was okay but well overpriced for what we got on the plate.
I was also surprised that the soup does not come with a roll and butter, and I had to ask.

On one day, we had to send our soup back due to stringy fibrous veg, just after another woman had sent her fish pie back for being cold in the middle.

The chefs ham broth soup the previous day was excellent.

The hotel does give very good in room tea/coffee facilities with biscuits.

The last con we need to mention was the parking. We found it a lottery to get a space, (which is not guaranteed) next to the hotel. There is another few spaces available across the road, but local builders are using it, and boxed our car in one day. We waited 30 minutes with the car horn going to get our car out.

The hotel is well located for Glen Nevis, and ten minutes walk from the station in Fort William.

I must again applaud the staff during these covid times as their vigilance put our minds at rest during the whole of our stay.

I spent the jubilee weekend here with my daughter as we were in the area for her to complete the Ben Nevis challenge! We were blessed with both excellent weather and the choice of hotel we made. This made a very comfortable base for us both. The room was so large and generous with two double beds spacious table area with room for all that comes with travelling. The bathroom was modern with shower/bath. The room was beautifully cleaned , fresh towels each day with full replenishment of tea/milk/coffee each day. I had the full Scottish breakfast which was excellent as was the evening meal. The waiting staff were efficient and accommodating both at breakfast and on the Saturday evening. Both ladies on reception were helpful and informative about the area. I would 100%recommend this hotel for comfort and ease of access to both the town centre of Fort William and the many walking areas sat around the stunning loch. The staff here definitely make this place a little bit special!

We are a family of 3, including a 15 year old.
First of all, Fort William is a lovely town and we look forward to returning.
Checkin was quick and easy, and the gentleman who assisted us was friendly and helpful. After unpacking in our room we discovered a down duvet which one of us is allergic to. We should have mentioned this in advance but forgot. It was easy to have the duvet exchanged for a synthetic one.
The room had a door separating the main bedroom from the living area with a comfortable pullout couch for our daughter. The bedding, throw pillows, Scottish wool blanket, all added to the comfort of the room. The bathroom was well equipped with full size soaps, lotions and shampoos.
Our breakfasts were included. There are pastries set out, and you can order from a breakfast menu as well.
We had an early departure and found you can order a packed lunch until 9pm the day prior. We did so and it was waiting for us at our checkout time.
Everyone we encountered at the Nevis Bank Inn was great. Friendly, helpful, accommodating.
I would not hesitate to return and to recommend to friends and family.

We had a 2 night stay, service was great - arrived over 2 hours earlier than check in and booked in within minutes. Room was spotless, finally a hotel room with a bath! Comfy pillows and bed, only thing to improve- hairdryer, having to hold a button to keep air blowing and then the air wasnt very powerful, upgrade needed. The food in Browns restaurant was delicious, pea risotto with Salmon was fantastic, breakfasts had plenty of choice. Staff were always on hand and friendly. 10 min walk to town centre and train station, on bus route. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Although arriving early we had a light lunch that was really delicious and our room was made ready early. Very much appreciated as we were tired from our journey. The quality of food was excellent and served with courtesy and a smile. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Very hot water for a bath or shower and the room was very clean. Would thoroughly recommend and will look forward to returning soon.

Hotel is set out to treat guests purely as a cash machine and not welcome them as important guests.
Some front of desk staff couldn't even be bothered to wish you a good morning.
Rooms are smaller than Premier Inn and if you are unfortunate to have a front room then you are on a noisy busy main road.
There is no lounge area to sit and socialise at the end of your day, so you either go outside or sit in your room.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as there are much better and cheaper places in Town which is a 10min walk straight down the main road.
Cinema cafe is outstanding for food and drink and is very very reasonably priced.
If I was to visit Fort William again it would definitely be a local B & B for comfort and welcoming attitude compared to this Hotel.

We travelled as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 11. Staying 2 nights.

On arrival, the reception staff were very welcoming. We left our luggage in the reception and they booked us a taxi to nevis range to start our holiday, calling us when our room was ready.

The room was massive. 2 king sized beds. A table and chairs, dressing table and tea and coffee facilities. The beds are extremely comfy and we all had fantastic night sleeps.

The room has a TV, but it is small and difficult to see from the beds. There are limited plug sockets and none by the beds.

The bathroom has a bath and overhead shower, toiletries and towels. Lovely big towels.

Other reviews reference a smell, there was no smell in our room. The walls are quite thin if you are a light sleeper use ear plugs.

The breakfast is a choice of cooked to order or buffet continental. Usual range, cereals, fruit yoghurt, croissants and juices. Again the staff are really friendly, offering us advice on where to travel to and generally chatty.

We ate in browns resurant one evening. The food was fabulous. The best salmon I have eaten cooked to perfection. The children's meals were massive, huge portions which they welcomed after a long day burning off energy.

People/guests use the garage area in bad weather, as there is no hotel provided shelter. It is however directly next to guests in the disabled room. They get smoke in their rooms if their window is open.
