Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great base for getting out to the Munros around Fort William. Good facilities and everything we needed. Very comfortable and warm. And having a drying room on site was a real bonus as the weather was wet to say the least!! Victoria was really helpful and flexible.

The accommodation was beyond our expectation it was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The views from the lounge windows over the loch were stunning. Parking was easy being just outside the front doors, another bonus was an undercover drying area and a drying room. I would definately recommend it as a place to stay.

This was a good place for me to stay over for 3 days with my two older kids. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. Great advice from the host on things to do, and the drying room was much needed after our soaking at Steall falls! Early start next day for a hike up Ben Nevis. The Alpine Loft was very reasonable, close to the Town centre and had everything we needed. Thank you.

The view on Loch Linnhe is just amazing! Friendly and responsive owner, communication worked perfectly, check-in straight forward. Very good value for money. We stayed as a family of 6 and had plenty of space.

My girlfriend and I have used Alan's rental services and it was second to none. Alan and his daughter Victoria have gone the extra mile by helping us plan our winter hike to the peak of Ben Nevis. None of the other rental places in the area got back to me after multiple calls but Alan did. He guided us with his recommendation on how to prepare for this trip, provided full rental service at an excellent price, and helped us with the weather forecast and even maps. The communication was rapid and valuable. I have not seen such care and quality service for a long time anywhere. I will use Alan's services in future every time when in the area.

Three of use had a 3 night stay in the Alpine Loft and it suited us well. The loft had everything we needed. We cooked in each night and if you don’t want to go to the town there is a small local shop, maybe 5 to 10minutes walk away. We came to Fort William by train then walked to Calluna self catering pulling our bags on wheels. Be prepared to walk uphill once you have left the high street. We enjoyed a walk to see the series of locks at Neptune’s Staircase. On the day we intended to go up Ben Nevis we were advised it would be unpleasant at the top so instead we walked as far as the loch then headed off around the mountain to the mountain reçue hut and then back down to Fort William via the golf course but we couldn’t have done the return section without our OS app as the obvious route would have taken us too far away from town.

Great place to stay with a group of friends! Dog friendly too. Clean house, with a well equiped kitchen. The bedrooms are a good size and the house is well situated for walks around (or up) Ben Nevis.

The house had all that 6 blokes needed for our week long walking holiday. The place is warm, clean and comfortable. Fort William has a number of the well known supermarkets as well as a selection of pubs, including Weatherspoon’s. The walking opportunities are immense, especially if you like climbing mountains. This is our third visit to Calluna. The weather is the weather, but there have been very few days when we couldn’t do what we planned
