My understanding is that the hotel has recently had a refurbishment which has been done very tastefully with thick carpets and pleasant wallpaper throughout all of the common areas. We were staying for 5 nights and initially spent the first 3 nights in a standard room at the back of the hotel. It was adequate with modern furnishings, how ever...

One night here, very quiet as middle of winter, great views from the hotel, centrally located and warm! Staff very friendly and efficient, meal in the restuarant was lovely, breakfast traditionally British Rooms are comfy but small (well small for a big fella like me with his partner!) Car parking on the site and close enough to Glencoe, Loch Ness,...

First impressions are good as you enter this lovely old building. The staff were friendly and professional enough (although everyone was foreign or English). As we made our way through the dining room to the lifts it was as if we were transported out the back of the lifts to the Travel Lodge, Holiday Inn or similar. Not that there...

The room was spacious and modern with a very large bathroom and luxury walk in shower. Good choice at breakfast which was cooked very well and fine for vegetarians. Great location overlooking loch and convenient for town.

We just popper through and decided it was too cold to stay in the campervan and we just got engaged, so we rocked up and the lady on reception was lovely and helpful, even showed us the difference between standard and deluxe rooms, if you want a bath take the standard room :). The hotel was very clean and warm...

Stayed here with a group of walkers last August. We booked about six months prior to arriving. we were very disappointed to find our rooms were at the back of the Hotel overlooking a rubbish tip. The rooms were tiny and half the items did not work. Reception was not in the least helpful. We realised we were in trouble...

We stayed here on a spur of the moment it wasn't prebooked. Beautiful room, very clean. Decor was lovely. We had a meal here which was very good. Afterwards on going back to our room to find it feeling a bit cold we were promptly provided with an extra heater with heat the room up in no time. Breakfast was...

We were just passing through here really and stopped over for the night. I had a room on the inside of the hotel - it was quiet and I slept great. My room was really clean with everything you could need. All the staff were really nice and hospitable too - reception, bar, restaurants - really great service. I liked...

Everything was clean and the staff were pleasant, so for that the price was fine. Way more money is spent on the common areas than the bedrooms. Our room was right under a creaky, noisy walkway, the internet went in and out (not good for those of us determined to watch a movie even after 30 attempts), and the bed...

I was dreading arriving at this hotel after reading the reviews, but luckily for us we had booked a deluxe double room. This room was incredibly spacious, king bed with crisp white bedding, ironing board, iron, hairdryer, toiletries, water, dressing gowns and slippers. The room was clean, and was cleaned every day whilst we were there. Breakfast consisted of croissants,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cruachan is designed with a traditional Scottish Highland façade and whilst the hotel has been, continues to be, sympathetically upgraded and modernised internally to provide all modern comforts, it has not lost its original character. The hotel has an enviable location overlooking Loch Linnhe and beyond the loch to the Morvern Hills. Guests can sit on the terrace outside the hotel in the summer, watching the boats on the loch and enjoying a quiet drink. ... more   less
