Dora is extremely friendly and willing to offer any tips and advise on exploring the area.
The rooms are lovely and bright and beautifully presented. We had a spectacular view from our window (room 5).
The location is great. It's located directly in front of a lake so, as you can imagen, the views in the morning are wonderful. It is a 5 minute walk into the main town and a 10/15 minute walk to the train station (perfect if you have Booked the Jacobite Steam train).
It's a short drive to the main points in Fort William such as Nevis Range, Ben Nevis and Great Glen.
I would definitely stay here again!
Our room was large and clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was a bit hard - fine for us as we have a hard mattress at home but for those who love a soft mattress potentially an issue.
The lady who served us breakfast (in the second house) was lovely. She was super friendly, helpful and definitely an asset to the Myrtle Bank team!
Comfy rooms, great location and reasonable price!
First impression was good. Not a bad size room classically furnished with a very large comfortable bed and lovely view. You had to walk through an adjoining single bedroom to get to the shower room. Omg the shower room was so small there was not enough wall space for even the smallest heated towel rail and so it was very cold. There wasn’t enough space to dry and dress in this bathroom so had to do that in the bedroom. We realised we were not paying for any kind of luxury but for a second room and an extra bed we never wanted or used
To get to the breakfast room you had to go outside and into the adjoining building where there was also a nicely furnished guest lounge. The first morning we were lucky as it wasn’t full at breakfast. The second morning we saw that some of the tables were very close and I felt very uncomfortable given Covid . The breakfast was very nice and served by a very polite but busy young man. This guest house is
actually three buildings but the third one has its own breakfast room. We stayed at three b&b s this trip but this one was a disappointment .
Our room was large as was the bathroom. Some shortbread and a chocolate was a nice touch and appreciated.
The young Romanian at breakfast was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast room did feel a little cramped in this time of social distancing. Only other comment was that breakfast was either cooked Scottish or healthy which was fruit, yogurt and cheese. In most places we’ve had a little fruit and yogurt followed by the cooked breakfast which would have been nice and we didn’t really need the cheese (a large piece)
Well what can we say...couldn’t fault it at all.
We got shown to our little apartment at the back of the main building where it was nice and quiet from the main road. The rooms were absolutely spotless and the greeting we got when arrived was lovely.
We were surprised that there was little gestures of tea and coffee in the room along with little chocolates and packet of lovely biscuits but it was most appreciated!
The breakfast we couldn’t complain, we were given a variety of choice and we picked the cook breakfast, it was amazing and we had choice of tea and coffee and toast and orange juice which definitely set us up for the day!
Overall if we came back to Fort William we would definitely stay here again and we will be recommending to our family and friends
Derek and Ailsa Whorton.
Dora was very friendly helpful and welcoming when we arrived.
The gardens were beautiful and our room overlooked Loch Linnhe - an amazing view!
The rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated.
Breakfast was lovely and we were served by Gail who was such a nice person and just couldn’t do enough for us. We met Margarita who was doing her cleaning rounds, again so nice and brilliant at her job.
All in all a fabulous stay and intend to come back!! Thank you!!
