Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently tastefully refurbished, the Havelock retains its charm and ambience in a fantastic location within Nairn town. Rooms are as comfortable as current Covid19 restrictions allow. Staff are very friendly and diligent in maintaining all cleanliness rules. Great choice of lovely beer gardens, food and sea views. Well worth a visit.

We were out for a walk and came across The Havelock. Decided on macaroni for lunch - wrong decision. We got a small bowl of watery macaroni , and 2 small slices of Garlic Bread, costing just under £12 pp. The portion size was like a kids portion, and not worth the money! No sea view as stated in previous review, tho that didn’t bother us.

As part of a group that wanted food and drink my wife who is wheat and dairy intolerant was offered a gluten-free vegan pizza as her only option.
What was presented was a gluten-free pizza base covered with tomato paste and vegan bacon. Nothing else! No vegetables, herbs, seasoning or anything!! Absolutely disgraceful! The £10 paid was returned but my wife went hungry.

Response from Havelock Nairn, Owner at The Havelock
Responded 27 May 2022
I'm sorry your wife did not enjoy the option she selected. The Vegan pizza was prepared as described on the menu but we would have been happy to add any extra toppings if requested. There were, in fact, six other suitable dish options available and we offered to amend any of our other dishes to suit. Naturally, we refunded the meal but sadly despite our efforts to please there was nothing further we could offer which was acceptable to her. This was disappointing as we have a well deserved reputation for offering a wide choice of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices and are always happy to prepare special dishes to order.

Overall, absolutely great weekend. The Hotel is very Covid ready. The room was great, no 5. Bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. We ate one night in the hotel, which can be busy, so recommend booking. The food was lovely. Staff were great, both in the bar/restaurant and Morag at breakfast was very attentive. Breakfast was as much as you want. Lovely. Overall a great trip. We will use this hotel again and have no problems recommending it.

Wonderfully honest small hotel. Clean warm simple rooms with piping hot water.

Lovely staff who attract lovely locals in the bar. A great pit stop with quality simple food in the restaurant.

Well sighted in the town and if you’re lucky like me you’ll get a sea view … don’t forget to walk to the Sandy beach!

100% recommended

Really good service. Food took a bit longer but tasted great. The delay in service was expected due to the eat out eat in. Really well organised and felt safe. Recommend to everyone. Staff were lovely and friendly. Will return
