Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place and family who run it. Took our booking late Friday night while we were travelling and were very accommodating.
Just a shame we arrived too late to try out what looked like delicious Italian food!
But breakfast in the morning was Goldilocks spot on, not too much and not too little.
The USB sockets in the room were a nice touch and very handy, especially by the bedside and this is something a lot of places still overlook.

We were staying quite near here for a couple of days and decided to find somewhere to eat, other than the hotel we were staying in. Not easy, given Covid restrictions. We just chanced on this wee hotel restaurant and were delighted when they said they could serve us dinner that evening.
Extremely friendly staff and a superb Italian based menu. I had the biggest prawn cocktail I’ve ever eaten and it was fresh and delicious. My main course was equally delicious- veal in a lemon sauce.
Would thoroughly recommend this place.

I stayed here as was a good location to the railway station and bus station. Wasn't needing breakfast on the first morning there so they very kindly provided me with a packed lunch and left it in the dining room for me to collect in the morning. The second morning I had a cooked breakfast and it was very tasty.

The room was comfortable and more than suitable for me.

I will defiantly consider staying here when back in the area :)

Went here for dinner and had a wonderful 3 course Italian meal. All family run and we ended up having drinks with the family later. Incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. We tried to switch our hotel for the night to stay here but alas they were full. Will definitely be staying her on our next visit.

I had booked this hotel for 1 night as I was at a function elsewhere the same evening. Welcomed by the owner (to my embarrassment I don’t recall her name) and after a very pleasant chat/overview was shown to my room which was huge, large comfortable bed, sofa, dressing table, full length mirror. I asked for an iron which was brought to my room within 5 x minutes. When ready to leave I went downstairs and asked about taxis. Straight away the other owner, Enrico, called and booked a taxi. The restaurant is Italian, and though I didn’t eat there, the menu looked very appealing and I know they were fully booked with 40 covers.
What was so sweet was although they were clearly very busy they took time to make me feel welcome, chatting, giving me their time prior to service.
The next morning again the owner came out to the car park to wish me goodbye and welcoming me back in the future.
Next time, and there will be, I will make sure I book for the restaurant and make my stay a little longer

We were a part of a group of 9 who popped in here on a Friday night. The hospitality, food and drink was wonderful. The owner/wait staff were friendly, helpful and entertaining. It was so enjoyable, we walked back the next night and took 10 more friends!

We were travelling down from John O Groats on our Road Trip and looking for a simple B&B for wife and I and 13 year old son. A family room at this place cost me £100 and as it was getting late at night I reluctantly accepted this rate. Room OK but foosty smell and in need of a clean up and modernising. An ancient tv with snowy screen squeaky floorboards and threadbare carpets. The meal in the restaurant was good and I paid an additional £70 for this and breakfast was also acceptable. The Italian Manager seemed to be constantly outside at the entrance smoking and people had to wade through this cloud of smoke to enter or exit. All in all it was just OK but definitely overpriced for the room.

Attracted by the smart exterior compared to the limited choice of restaurants in the area my partner and I entered the front door through a group of three smoking staff members (they did smile and move apart for us but there was clearly a back garden area where it would have been more appropriate for them to be if they were not on duty). The on-duty staff were friendly. The interior decor was dated but initially I felt very open minded towards this. However our fish main courses were both overcooked and considering a large part of the menu was devoted to fish I expected the chef to be able to cook it properly. The waitress forgot to bring a second glass of wine, despite there only being three tables in the restaurant the whole time we were there. This place has potential but the staff, service and quality of the cooking let it down. The pricing was ridiculous for the food quality - way overpriced!

Visited this restaurant for the second time in a couple of years. We expected to receive similar service and meals that we had experienced on our previous visit. Sadly, although we could not fault the quality of food, the service was quite patchy. Despite requesting that our family get together could be recorded by spending a few seconds taking a photo on our mobile phone this was apparently too much to ask. We had the meal in the consersvatory but this was a huge mistake. To be fair, it was a sunny and warm evening but this must have happened in Nairn, the Brighton of the North, before. Sitting in the sunshine was unbearable and yet, there were no blinds or fans to make the diners more comfortable. How hard can it be to resolve this problem? In summary the food was excellent, the service patchy and the consersvatory is to be avoided on sunny evenings at all costs. We would return for the great Italian food on offer but would request a table away from the consersatory on a sunny evening.
