Well the previous reviews don’t lie. From the minute we booked our stay Liz gave us the most exceptional service. There was a wee bit of a mix up regarding availability of a room that was pet friendly but Liz was fantastic and phoned me straight away to sort it out. I think in future I’ll just book directly with her rather than using travel sites as she was able to explain the set up of rooms etc. We stayed in courtyard 3, lovely spacious room with an extremely comfy bed and all the amenities you’d need. The place was spotless, including the large ensuite shower room which had excellent water pressure in the shower and lovely smelling toiletries. There were dog bowls and a towel for our pup which was such a nice touch. We’d brought our own but really good to know for future stays as it saves packing them. Delicious homemade shortbread with our wee tea tray (as well as Yorkshire tea which is my fav) which could be replenished every day if you needed it. Liz is so well organised given the new Covid restrictions and rules. We felt super safe and well looked after. Now to the best bit - the breakfast!!!! We love our food, and we know good food. One of the previous reviews said the breakfast here compares, if not exceeds, 5 star hotels. This is true! We’ve stayed at Gleneagles and regularly go to Turnberry and this is equal to if not better. In particular the best scrambled eggs I’ve l ever tasted and the porridge was delicious. Not something most places get right. All credit to Andy for that!! Liz is so well prepared and has the table all ready with your tea/coffee/juice/jams all dependant on your personal preference. There is a quiet, almost private, beach just a 5 minute walk from the house which our dog loved!!! This place is also a great choice for golfers, which we are not but have family who are and would highly recommend. Liz knows her stuff when it comes to the local area and recommendations which she gives you before you arrive so you can plan but also is on hand during your stay.
In summary a great wee break. Fab location for exploring that part of the country. Better hosts you couldn’t find, they are clearly extremely experienced in the hospitality industry and make you feel welcome and well looked after which is what you want. We can’t wait to come back soon.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an incredible place to stay. 5 Star luxurious gorgeous boutique accommodation with amazing hosts who know how to look after their guests. We were made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment we first booked this accommodation to the moment our visit ended.

Our quiet Courtyard room was beautifully furnished and very spacious. The room was more like a suite than just a bedroom with a sofa and chairs too. There was a separate door from our room out into the garden where there was garden furniture for us to sit out and enjoy. There was a fridge in the room which even had fresh milk and bottled water for us to use. The bathroom was well stocked with the most amazing organic products from The Highland Soap Company which we loved so much that we visited the shop to stock up on these lovely toiletries to bring home.

Breakfast was a treat, a menu that had plenty to choices to choose from. Everything is made to order from the freshest and finest locally sourced produce. The quality of the food was outstanding. We were served the very best smoked salmon that we have ever tasted. Our breakfast filled us up ready to start our day.

Can’t fault the wonderful hospitality from Liz, Andy and their team. We look forward to returning to Sandown House

We've just returned from a 4-night family stay at Sandown House, and can honestly say it is the best B&B we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Beautifully furnished, luxurious rooms, spotlessly clean, every detail fully thought out. Liz and her team are just the kindest, loveliest, most thoughtful and welcoming hosts, and the breakfasts are magnificent, with every possible taste catered for, and clearly no expense spared on quality ingredients. Everything exceeded our expectations, and when you add this to the spectacular surroundings and close proximity to so many beautiful beaches and walks, it all added up to a completely fabulous, memorable trip, which we will definitely be revisiting.

This was our first break away since lockdown and it was amazing. We stayed in an upstairs courtyard room with a balcony. The room was spacious lovely decorated and very clean. The balcony was a great addition to enjoy the early morning sunshine or a drink in the evening. There is also a lovely garden with tables and chairs for guests use. We have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in Scotland including Gleneagles and the highest compliment my husband could give Liz was her breakfast was as good if not better than the one at Gleneagles. Liz is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble for her. We were visiting family in Nairn so we will be back and won’t waste time looking to stay anywhere else than Sandown House. Thanks again Liz fir a marvellous stay.

We stayed in Sandown House in mid October and everything was absolutely 5 star plus! We had a gorgeous room in the courtyard which was huge, spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The beds were super comfy and very high quality bedding. Bath and shower were great. We had a very warm welcome from Liz and Andy, who went out of their way to help us, especially in light of the Covid restrictions. They even allowed us to eat our takeaway in their beautiful lounge and delivered champagne and strawberries to our room when they discovered it was our Ruby Wedding. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality. The breakfast choice and quality was terrific, I just had to get that granola recipe! We have stayed in a number of top hotels across the world and I can honestly say Sandown is up there!

If I could give 6 stars I would, Liz & Andy have the most beautiful home and welcomed us in with open arms. We stayed in a the main house in a double room. It had tea & coffee making facilities, along with bath & shower gels ( hairdryer, bath robes ) all being nice quality. Our room was nicely decorated with a gorgeous comfy bed topped with gorgeous cotton bed linen with Scottish tartan finishing touches. Liz & Andy also have the breakfast menu of dreams full of utterly delicious options all cooked to order.

This is the best B&B I have encountered in the British Isles. First class, spacious, spotless well equipped room with huge comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom. You can see why it has a Scottish Tourist Board 5 star rating.

My wife and I booked for a couple of nights away in Nairn with our dog, and Liz couldn’t have done more for us. Very welcoming and great comms from the off, was able to make recommendations for dog friendly restaurants, which were spot on.

Breakfast, which is included, is all cooked fresh to order and is exemplar in terms of choice, quality and preparation. Perfect full Scottish with perfect poached eggs (plural - not that one egg nonsense) and amazing traditional porridge served with cream and a dash of single malt if you fancy it! There were a host of other choices available to suit any dietary requirements. My wife had the vegan breakfast which was delicious too.

Perfectly located 7 mins walk from beach for a walk along into town, and the view of the night sky from the garden is outstanding.

Couldn’t recommend this B&B highly enough, we will most definitely be back. Thank you.

I stayed at Sandown House for 2 nights with my 19 year old daughter and elderly parents and we were all in awe at the incredibly high standards of everything at Sandown House - we couldn't fault a thing.

Liz and Andy are so friendly and welcoming and they cannot do enough for you. They are masters of the trade and obviously love what they do which makes for an exceptional guest experience.

The wonderfully spacious rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished to the highest of standards and everything is spotlessly clean. We really appreciated the thoughtful little touches like homemade shortbread and fresh milk along with a selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate; the fresh flowers at breakfast and real orchids in the rooms; the Highland Soap Company toiletries; the heated bathroom mirror; a card for my mum and dad's anniversary; the sausage bap each morning for my daughter; the outdoor seating areas, including the swing; the paintings and pictures of local scenery.

Breakfast was fantastic! A huge choice, all freshly cooked to order and served piping hot. You do not go out of there hungry!! A lovely, peaceful environment to start the day with relaxing music playing a and a chat with Liz while watching Andy in the kitchen doing the cooking. They make it all look effortless.

Everything at Sandown House lives up to the 5 star status. It's incredibly difficult to get those 5 stars and keep them but they are well deserved.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandown House and look forward to our next visit (hopefully soon).

Thanks again Liz and Andy. Xx
