Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Owners very accommodating as my BA flight was cancelled last minute meaning my arrival was a day late! A warm welcome, spotlessly clean lovely room with toiletries. Tea & coffee in the room with access to more if needed. Breakfast was excellent, nothing too much trouble, everything cooked fresh to order, truly cannot fault anything.

Sadly I didn’t have time to sample the afternoon tea & fresh cakes which can be enjoyed in their lovely garden area.

Final point, my room had a walk-in shower, I know if I had brought my wife she would have wanted a bath tub, no idea if any rooms accommodate this?

Thanks so much for your wonderful review David. Yes indeed all our rooms have a shower and no bathtub except of the small single room. Hope to see you and your wife nevertheless at one point. Best wishes Anika

Stayed here as I was working in Inverness for a couple of days and I fancied staying somewhere nice and quiet. Cawdor House was a great choice!

Hosts Anika and Andy couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. The house is absolutely beautiful with a rich modern vibe in the decor. My superior room was bright and airy. The stripped back floorboards, big window and high ceilings made it feel light and cool. A comfy bed and an immaculately clean shower room ticked all my boxes and the wee jar of homemade shortbread was welcome after my long drive.

You can park in the street outside the property. I didn’t have breakfast when I stayed but when I was checking out and paying my bill, all the lovely home baking in the breakfast room/cafe looked fabulous so I imagine breakfast is excellent.

It’s a short walk to the beach, which is just gorgeous, or down the high street, or you could wander around the little streets in Fishertown down near the harbour. I even did a little wild swimming and I loved it!

I would definitely stay here again, no question, and I will definitely have breakfast next time!

If you are expecting Scottish hospitality, tarten carpets, and a full scottish breakfast this is not the place for you.
What you will get is a very warm european welcome from the eccentric german owner and his wife
The owner is an artist and some of his work adorn the bedrooms and public areas
He is also a baker as during the day one of the rooms serves as a tea room and appears popular There appears to be no carpets in any room including our bedroom what you get are polished wooden floors
The bedroom was clean with one of the owners works adorning the wall, each have a hidden meaning, try to guess what each meen.
The room was simply furnished in what could be described as in a Bohemian style
Breakfast was contiental with rolls ( own baked) cake .scrambled eggs, salami .cheese and salmon
no complaints, but would have prefered a scottish alternative
If you like your guest house to be a little querky, this is the place for you

A lovely warm friendly welcome on arrival confirmed we had booked our type of place. Andreas (Andy) and Aneka were excellent hosts, with their German twist on Scottish hospitality.
We had only booked for one night but after a relaxing evening we decided to stay a second night.
Rooms are very clean and tidy and your hosts are on hand to provide you with whatever your needs are. Having the cafe attached and with a licence allowed us to chill with a drink before we went in search of dinner.
Breakfast was a continental treat, and thank goodness a BnB that serves quality coffee! Overall, a wonderful short break in Nairn, which we hope we may be able to repeat before too long.

Cawdor House is a lovely, clean place to stay. I guess that's what we'd hope for any accommodation, but what sets it apart from other places we've stayed at, are three things:
1. It has unique, attractive features inside and out. A lovely garden outside where people can sit and eat / drink. Superb huge photo images - very colourful and artistic - taken by co-owner Andreas (Andy), who was a professional photographer. And lovely tasteful display cabinates for the cakes, etc in the cafe.
2. It has German/Austrian home baking as well as local produce beautifully presented for breakfast.
3. Most of all, the two owners are amongst the friendliest people we've ever met on all our decades of travel, both here in Scotland and globally.
So overall, an absolute treat to stay at.
Beyond that, Nairn and the surrounding areas are stunning and hugely interesting.

Our hostesses, owners Manuela and Anika, were very welcoming. Our late arrival and early departure next day for Inverness Airport (15 min. drive) was taken in stride and their hospitality was in full gear when they served us a fine breakfast at 5:30 am! The room was very comfortable for the three of us. In their renovation they have woven hints of modern with the traditional very nicely. Would love to stay at Cawdor House again. With more time, I would use their sitting room looking out over the front garden, or in the garden itself, and sip their fine whisky....

Fantastic b&b, wonderful food and the hosts can't do enough for you. All our motorbikes were parked up the side off the road. Rooms clean, beautifully appointed and slightly quirky. Breakfasts with a German theme but British twist. I couldnt stop eating. Breads and cakes all baked on sight - gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

If you’re looking for a lovely and peaceful B&B in a beautiful Scottish town, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Stayed here in June with my wife for a short stay in Nairn and was very pleasantly surprised. The inn was well located, the rooms nicely appointed with comfortable beds, and the women running it were very attentive and friendly. Would absolutely come back

Charming hotel in a great location. Great place to stay when visiting the fabulous Cawdor Castle. The room was lovely and breakfast was delicious. We were having trouble finding any Highland Cows to see but the owner Kristin told us where to find them and we were delighted!
