Excellent hotel with amazing location located in the prestigious West end of Nairn with just a 5 minute walk to the beach and Nairn west golf course. I stayed here myself in a single room for 1 night. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by the staff. I had actually arrived before the designated check in time but this was no hassle and I was able to go straight to my room to drop off my bags. The hotel has recently been refurbished to the highest of standards, yet offers very affordable prices. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk away or 2 min drive, and access to the A96 main road is excellent. I'll definitely be returning, although next time I'll be taking my partner so we can try out the Clava Cairn room with the private hot tub!

We are a family of four and have just returned from a road trip around Scotland, we had a nights stay here.
It is a beautiful hotel, close to the town and very well kept, Very clean and tidy…however.
On our arrival into the reception area, we noticed a sign informing us that if nobody was on reception to go to the bar.
A gentleman came to check us in, he asked us to pay straight away, which I thought was unusual. He also told us that there will be no night porter available through the night. He gave us our key to the family room. We went up to the room and opened the door on a young man, nearly knocking him off his chair. When we got the correct key to the correct room we were pleasantly surprised, it was a lovely bright and large room with nice comfortable beds.
During the night I kept waking to hear music playing, I was thinking it was a party in a neighbouring garden and that it would stop soon, but it continued all night. At 5:30am I got up to explore where the music was coming from. It was actually coming from the bar and was rather loud. It eventually stopped at 6:45 obviously when the breakfast staff arrived.
At breakfast time we waited to be seated. We couldn’t see any staff so again had to find someone. We were taken to two tables and had to sit apart as the tables hadn’t been cleared from previous guests. We sat and waited for someone to come and take our order or tell us what we needed to do. We watched as other people waited to be seated, they had to wait until tables were cleared. We then watched them be seated and served. After 10 minutes I decided to go and find a member of staff to take our order. The member of staff was one young girl trying to serve multiple tables and the gentleman who checked us in, who was going between reception and serving breakfast. They didn’t seem to communicate. We noticed other guests were not happy with the service either, also having to ask the staff member to take their orders.
I made a complaint to the gentleman on leaving the hotel but found him to be quite blasé about the whole thing.
Very disappointing!!!

Last minute decision not to camp after the weather showed just how miserably wet it could be. The room booked 20minutes before I arrived, check in was lovely and friendly and the lady kindly let me park my motorcycle out of sight which I was extremely grateful for.
The room and ensuite were lovely, comfortable and clean. The only gripe would be the Nescafé sachets - they are vile! Nescafé should be ashamed of themselves... I couldn't find a fault otherwise.
The price was very reasonable and it was a very short walk to the town centre for some food or the beach / harbour area which was stunning when I was there; the weather took a turn for the better. Nairn was a big surprise, a flying visit left me wanting to see more.
I would definitely recommend this place for a travelling motorcyclist. Big thank you to the host!

this place is an old folks home turned hotel . Very little change the call button is still on the wall and the bed that goes up and down and different angles. The was a open packet of tissues left from the previous guest and sandwiches which went out of date ten days ago still in the fridge . The bedroom window looks right on to the beer garden so no privacy unless you close the curtains during the day. The bath room is a care home walk in shower with no screen or curtain and a light above the mirror with no case on it , im pretty sure steam /moister and electricity dont get on .

Just returned from staying here and I can honestly say it was an excellent choice. The hotel itself is located in an excellent location a 5 minute stroll to the beach with its stunning views and the lovely coastal path that takes you towards the harbour and nice park. The accommodation was excellent along with the food and drink. A special mention must go the staff member Caroline ( all members of staff were friendly also) but Caroline with her excellent humour and interaction deserves special praise. If you are looking for a great place to stay I couldn't recommend this place any higher.

I booked this hotel after reading countless reviews from happy visitors who seemed to have hugely enjoyed their stays in newly refurbished rooms. Clearly they didn’t stay in Room 9 then as it was a huge disappointment. Don’t be fooled by the balcony mentioned in the description - it’s just two chairs and a wobbly table on an area outside a door, shared with with the room next door and overlooking the marquee that covers the drinking area. Inside, the radiator had come off the wall, the curtains were strangely hung back to front, the wardrobe door was missing and the bathroom had no lock. The whole room is simply shabby and needs a serious overhaul I’m afraid.
The staff are without any doubt the stars of the show - they were friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but breakfast was good and freshly cooked though there was no fresh fruit and they’d run out orange juice by 8:30am. Again, the two waiters were rushed off their feet but were lovely, very polite and attentive and couldn’t be faulted

I returned as an old customer wanting to see the much hyped refurbished hotel. Bedrooms downstairs decor still the same. Was clean with good helpful staff. We paid upfront for half board and was then told we had £15 to spend for evening meal. This was not enough for 2 courses. We expected 3 courses having paid half board. Food was excellent & staff. Breakfast hardly anything to offer, no porridge or choice of cereal, no bake beans, sausages or mushrooms. No white bread for toast - Very poor. After leaving I found out we could have had the meal offer of £10 off Mon - Fri but was not told, instead we paid extra over our allotted £15 for 2 courses. Do not recommend to book half board. I used to visit 3 times a year, will not be going back to be ripped off.

Old triad visor comments made us wary in visiting , but a local told us the hotel had recently reopened , new chef etc. Turned out it was a great recommendation and by far best dinner of the holiday so far . Four of us all had excellent experience, and a wide and varied choice compared to other menus in town. The staff couldn’t have been better. Could improve the ambience with piped music and some decorative bit n pieces , but maybe being picky . Overall an super evening out , well done 👍😋😀

Excellent Hotel, very clean and bright. Covid compliant.

Staff are fantastic and the food is exceptional mind we just had he breakfast but did not eat until dinner that night as we were stuffed. Belly Buster.

The room we had was very clean to a high standard. There is a fridge (seems standard across the MacAli Hotel group), mini table top size, no noise from it, great size too.

Free Wi-Fi which was great signal and super fast

Very quiet area where the hotel is.

Free car parking

Still don't know the managers name but she is very professional, very friendly and I'd highly recommend this hotel and will be staying again at some point.

10/10 for what you're doing and thank you for having us and your food is exceptional too, thank you so much
