Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The small hotel in the centre of Nairn. The hotel occupies an old-fashioned building. We enjoyed this stay. The price was affordable. The hotel is located not far from Inverness, which was our primary destination. The hotel owns parking next to the church within a couple hundred yards from the hotel. The traditional breakfast is served in the hotel.

Very clean, great breakfast. Quaint hotel with older decor but clean and tidy. Denise seems to run the place alone, but runs a tight ship and very pleasant lady with a no nonsense approach.
Conveniently placed in the high street.
Would stay again for sure.

Denise’s place is lovely, recently modernised rooms, she offers a friendly welcome and professional service. Room was very comfortable with everything you would expect including speedy Wi-fi. Bed comfortable also. Breakfast cooked to order with wide selection. Parking available across the street or on-road. As this is a central hotel expect night noise, didn’t bother me but may be an issue if a light sleeper from the Nairn revellers!

My friend and I have just returned feeling very refreshed after our five night stay at the Waverly Hotel with free parking. Our room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. Denise cooked the most lovely breakfast to order. She was so friendly and even gave us cakes to enjoy on our way home.

I have to say after been shown to our room we then had chance to look at what kind of night we may have and then we started to find the problems listed below.
1.beds and mattresses were split and probably 20 years old
2.The toilet was a shared toilet and you would expect a lock on the door.
3.The heater provided when plugged in seemed to blow a fuse probably due to it been rusty and very old.
4.The beds were the most uncomfortable beds i have ever slept on in my many nights away.
5.The bed sheets on both beds were also ripped and really needed to be in the bin not on the bed.
6.We found that the old windows had a gap in them were you could actually put your hand outside without opening the window.

All summed up i think if this place was modernised and some love and care went into it then it could be a great place to stay, but i would say to anyone who needs somewere to stay unless these improvements are made then dont make the trip here.

Whilst trying to find accomodation for the Scottish Open Wed 11-15th July 2012 i enquired about rooms at this hotel. I required 2 rooms a twin room for the Wed to Sat and a single room for the Sat night., I was surprised the hotel was so cheap and did consider it. I then phoned to check if rooms were ensuite and informed they werent and the owner said this would be no good for me which i agreed as i wanted en suite. I then went on to book other suitable accomodation for the duration. I then received a phonecall from my partner whilst up in Nairn. The owner of the hotel left a nasty message on my answer machine demanding where was i as i had rooms booked. I had never booked rooms as the owner well knows, Further more to my fury the owner has phoned me at home again day after Open finished and asking why i didnt turn up and being nasty on phone. I informed her i never booked rooms owing to not being ensuite and informed her she knew of this, she denied this and then went on and hung up on me. I would advise any one to stay clear of this hotel as the owner is a disgusting rude person and i would defintaley advice anyone to stay clear of it. Why the owner phoned me after i had come back from my trip puzzles me. Travelllers beware of making enquires or you will be hounded by her!!!!!!!!!!!

I prepaid for a night's stay here, and did not qualify for a refund, so I think I should be able to share my thoughts on Waverly Hotel. It took a while to finally get someone's attention and was shown my room. After I saw it and then asked to see a different room (none others available) decided to turn in the key and go elsewhere. I knew in advance that there would be a shared bathroom down the hall, however I did not find the room nor this establishment suitable for my needs. The windows and furniture in the room were grimy, the office was in disarray, and the car park for the hotel was around the corner, and I had to pass by a burned out car that was full of graffiti. Was glad I could get away from there.

After a long drive through wind and snow I thought it would be polite to call ahead and let the waverley hotel know that we might not be there 1030pm. The woman on the phone told us to forget it and not bother showing up at all! I told her our situation, and also the fact that my wife is 6 months pregnant! She couldn't care less! I told her to refund our payment and she just chuckled and said that we didn't book through her. She ruined our new year's, caused us unnecessary stress and if I'm perfectly honest, does not deserve to work in this industry. What she done should be illegal and I really hope that anyone reading this avoids this "hotel" at all costs

Came across this lovely B&B while driving through Scotland and was a real find. Its not fancy but if you want a comfy, cosy stay this is for you. Some noise from the seagulls and road if you are at the front of the building but just ask for a room at the back.

Good price at £26 pppn. Breakfast excellent with good quality ingredients. Denise the owner was super friendly and even did some washing for us. Would definitely go back
