Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to accommodate our group of 9 , resulting in everyone on this weekend break (Saturday to Monday)give 10/10 for the staffs hospitality. No request was too big and staff remained genuine at all times.

Ok where to start, my sister booked rooms at this hotel for her bridal party to get dressed for her wedding, everything seemed to be going well, until one of the staff members asked my sister what time she was leaving as they didn't want 2 bridal parties at the hotel at the same time. They then went on to write this on their Facebook page, Totally embarrassing my sister which ruined her experience! They also made up some story about how they should have told them why they were there (I wasn't aware checking I to a 5 star hotel required an interrogation) and that the professional photographer/videogropher was moving furniture to take pictures, which again was false. Firstly the photographer was a family member, no one seemed to mind him taking pictures at the time, no one told him he couldn't, but they went ahead and posted so many false statements on Facebook, when we complained both me and my sister were blocked from there page. They then went on to say if you're booking into their hotel you need to I form them the reason why and that bridal parties take priority (as long ad your function is in their hotel) Last i checked, every guest in the hotel should receive equal measures of hospitality regardless if you are there for business/pleasure or for any other reason. The level of disrespect this hotel has towards its guests was absolutely shocking, my advice if you're staying in greenock, avoid this hotel, not only did they embarrass my sister on her special day but to post it on Facebook was absolutely disgusting, just like their bathrooms!

Excellent service with very good staff. Also very friendly and are willing to have a good conversation when they have time. They also have a knowledge of the local area and are willing to help with points of interest. I would recommend both bars upstairs and downstairs.

I have complained via the Tontine's online contact form on more than one occasion about our visit to dine in October. But this review and rating is about the fact no one has replied, just ignored. The original contact was about the quality of just one of the 6 meals, so-called chicken tikka masala, the rice and bread. This was disappointing. In future if the Tontine's inhouse sausage rolls were widely available we would be there daily.

We had Saturday dinner in the bar area. The meal was lovely, my daughter and I had chicken enchiladas and my husband had fish and chips, the atmosphere was nice with other diners and people in for drinks. The staff were helpful and efficient. We would recommend and will return again soon.
