My room, a double-bed, was on the ground floor. Extremely clean and bed very comfortable. Great size, everything I could want in it, including an excellent shower-room. I'm not a 'bath' person, so this suited me well. Plenty of space for clothes; nice table and chairs area for sitting reading, and a decent TV. I always enjoy using the complimentary...

Went here for dinner with the plan of going to Eighteen 08 after. We were given menus just as we sat down and my menu had a cocktail list at the back. A waiter, Sean, took our drinks order then came back a few minutes later to say they no longer serve cocktails upstairs. Disappointed as they were on the...

A very disappointing lunch here for the first time.I usually have no complaints about the food here but there was five of us and none of our meals were particularly good.Lasagne dry, steak pie had soggy pastry and cold veg, salt and pepper chicken smothered in an over-powering barbeque sauce, fish with burnt batter, nachos passable.Don't understand what's gone wrong,...

Stayed at the Tontine Hotel with my partner for three nights and we both really enjoyed it there. All the staff were excellent and friendly, especially Rebecka! She was so helpful and we enjoyed the conversation we had with her. She also helped us by finding out about train stations for us to use. The whole hotel looks amazing with...

What a joy and great value for money. I booked this for a friends birthday and we had a lovely afternoon. This bar is new and part of the newly refurbished Tontine Hotel. The 1808 bar downstairs was lovely, comfortable seating and very nice decor and a lovely calm atmosphere. The afternoon tea consisted of 12 quarter sandwiches (you let...

I stayed here for 5 days over the festive holidays. The hotel has been upgraded recently to a very high standard. We stayed in a superior room in the main old building, which was spacious and stylish. The staff are very helpful and accommodating; when we missed breakfast they kept us some food. I'll definitely stay here again on my...

was visiting my father in Scotland and stayed at the tontine for one night. I have probably stayed there a dozen times with any issues. When I arrived this time I was pleasant surprised by a refurb that taken place. According to the waiter at a cost of £1m . Would not doubt that. They have added a cocktail bar...

Good Evening, First of all I would like to say I am disappointed in your review. I have spoken with the receptionist who has just completed her training who was working on the evening of the 31st, therefore just to touch on your points: We haven't been made aware of any problems with the t.v in the room you stayed...
