North Alves Holiday Park is set in the grounds of a once fully working 19th century farm. It is surrounded by stunning open countryside and located only a mile from the lovely ancient Forestry Commission owned pine forest and beach at Roseisle, with it's many walks and Forest Playpark/BBQ area. Our aim is to offer all of our visitors a real, rural feel during a stay with us here at North Alves, keeping to the true farming roots of the site and the surrounding area, whilst being so close to the beautiful Moray Firth. We like to think a stay here with us offers the best of both worlds. A lovely quiet location off the beaten track in the lovely rural Moray countryside whilst having one of the many gorgeous beaches in the area, a mere mile away! Being situated approxiamately 1 hours drive from Inverness (The gateway to the Highlands), Aviemore and The Cairngorms National Park, the campsite is a wonderful base to venture further afield for the day if you wish. There are also various activities available locally for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits like walking, water sports, golfing, quad biking as well as many more... If however you prefer a more relaxing pastime like wildlife watching, the Moray Firth is famous for it's various sightings, including dolphin and seals. Perhaps even a visit to one or more of the many distilleries located on the world famous Moray Malt Whisky Trail. We are perfectly located for all these activities and many more and are an ideal base for touring and exploring Moray and the Highlands.

First time back at the campsite for nearly 2 years... such nostalgia. Sam and Lee were very welcoming as always - such a beautiful family site; safe, peaceful and lots of stuff to keep the kids entertained! The facilities were great. We needed for nothing during our stay! The kids loved feeding the animals! The free bag of animal feed on arrival was a lovely touch 👌 Sam and Lee continue to amaze us with their vision, hard work and love for North Alves Holiday Park... it just keeps getting better every year. We will definitely be back for another stay! Easily our favourite campsite - a home away from home!!! Thanks for such a lovely wee holiday!! See you soon.

We have just had a fantastic 11 nights camping at North Alves. The owners gave us a great welcome even though we were late arriving. The pitches were big and well spaced. The facilities at great. Toilet block clean and tidy with fantastic showers. A nice sized site, within easy distance of beaches, some fantastic walks. Only 10 minutes from Elgin and Forres by car. Happy to recomend and will definitely be going back again This place is a hidden gem

Just had another great stay at this site. It’s such a quiet location, yet close enough to amenities. The site itself is set over two fields, low and high and a perfect mix of touring and static caravan, with tents welcome. It’s around 6 miles from Elgin and tucked nicely away from the main road to make it peacefully quiet. The site is very well kept and the owners are friendly and welcoming, without being intruding. It’s a great place for a peaceful retreat, however kids will have a great time. The site is well equipped for both. Both touring and static pitches have ample space between and the play park with ‘kid friendly’ nearby walks keep the young ones entertained all day and into evening. The new addition of the fire pit is a nice touch. In the centre, built in a dip to ensure conversation doesn’t travel. For an adult keen on walks or a family, there are numerous places to go. From forest walks, Abbeys, Pictish forts and standing stones. Not to mention the local villages and beaches. RoseIsle should have a paragraph to itself. If traveling from Aviemore with a tourer, I suggest heading for Elgin (20miles longer) but much easier. Highly recommend.

We booked our holiday way back in may after friends of ours recommended it highly. We arrived last week and although the weather was atrocious and remained so practically all week the campsite was fairly busy. We stayed in the tent area in the centre field in what the owners called the crop circles. They had an undercover area to sit and all the amenities were close at hand and were of the highest standard. The owners were so friendly and made sure our stay was enjoyable by answering all our many questions wide and varied. Bet they were glad to see us go. All in all we have had a great time in a great site and will be back again....sorry.

We stayed at this campsite in a tent with two children at the beginning of July. It was such a great site that we returned for a further week ! It is such a lovely quiet site with superb clean showers /kitchen. The kids loved the games room and outdoor play area. The site itself is very well presented with well manicured areas and areas where the owners are encouraging wildlife including a pond ! which was great to see butterflies/dragonflies again. a credit to the owners we will return

Booked to stay here recently , regretted the decition as soon as we drew up has deteriorated from previous years ,long over grown grass with circles cut out for tents this surely cannot be healthy , we couldn't sit outside without being plagued with insects , wasps and bees due to the long grass , who on earth decided crop circles were a good idea , do the owners not know that ticks and lime desease are on the increase , I'm sorry but the unkept look really put us off and we won't be returning

Response from samlee04, Manager at North Alves Holiday Park
Responded 4 Aug 2019
Dear Alison, Very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your 3 night stay here at North Alves and fully understand if you do not wish to return in future. Can I take it that it was just mother nature herself that has made you feel this way?. Was it the very small area of meadow with neatly cut areas for tents to pitch, which you were using last year, that encourages wildlife to visit? Incidentally these areas of wild grass and flowers is something that the government themselves are highly encouraging these days. Can I take it that its the wildlife that has spoiled your visit. I ask these questions as there is no mention of anything else in your review to say otherwise. Were the Showers and toilet facilities poor, did the campers kitchen not have adequate facilities, was the electric pitch you were allocated for your TOURING CARAVAN sub standard in any way or surrounded by long grass. Were we rude towards you in any way. Was it the fact we didn't allow you to have many extra vehicles on the site with no further charge, NO we never said a word. Was it the fact we didn't allow you to pitch your tent in one of the crop circles a day early at no extra charge, NO we never had a problem with that. Did we come banging on your door at 11am when you should have been vacating, NO we gave you an extra hour before mentioning this. Did we come to you having received multiple complaints from other campers on site of you going into there pitches and trying to get them to join your party, No we just stuck up for you. Was it the fact that when you came round to the camp to make your booking and pay your deposit on the 15th July we steered you away so you couldn't see the camp, NO you came down the same road and saw the same camp and still went ahead and booked ODD surely if as you say as soon as you drew up you regretted it. Or was it just purely the flora and fauna in a rural campsite during very warm and humid conditions the reason we received the poor rating? I ask these questions as this is the first we have heard from you about this in the 3 days you were here and your review seems a little vague at best. Surely the best course of action would have been to approach us on one of the many times we passed and mentioned this and we would have kindly offered you a full refund, or even better still on arrival so we could have done the same and you could have found another campsite with no flora and fauna. Regards, North Alves Holiday Park.

We visited for a week with our touring caravan 3 kids and our dog. It is a beautiful site run by lovely paople. Sam and Lee were so helpful and friendly. The site is well kept and clean. The toilets and showers are spotless and probably the best site showers we have seen. There is a games room and play area and a good dog walking area on site. We would highly recommend this site and will return again soon.

Stayed at this campsite again this May, and was not disappointed. Very good standard of site, so well kept. Lovely to see all the animals again too. Always feel welcome here and so handy for all local visitor sites. Forres only a few miles away, A choice of wonderful beaches and great local restaurants with local produce. Looking forward to my nest visit.

It is a perfect little caravan and campsite for our camper van and awning. Hook up was very easy and affordable. The kitchen for campers room was very useful. The facilities such as toilets and showers adjacent were all well maintained, plentiful and spacious areas. All the animals were a real bonus. Great dog walking provision was provided too. Great, welcoming hosts. Highly recommended!
