Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an excellent stay here as a family of 4. Its a comfortable base from.which to explore Moray coastline. Paul is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the benefits too of a generous welcome pack. We visited Findhorn Foundation and walked to the beach from there. Also visiting Findhorn Village, enjoying coastal walks and seeing sea loins. Other places worth a visit is Lossiemouth, beautiful village and beqches at Hopeman, Nairn, Roseisle, Forres and Logie Estate.

Stayed here for a week, I stayed in The stables which was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Everything was immaculately clean. Lovely quality bedding. I arrived late and the lamps were on and the radio which was a nice touch. Lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee and shortbread. Fresh flowers also. Well situated for lots of excursions in the area. Paul was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely return

We have never visited such a lovely Cottage and surroundings. We stayed for two weeks and cannot wait to visit again The Cottage and country surrounding were just beautiful and we had views over the fields from our windows, . Paul was so helpful and could not do enough for us and very welcoming. The Cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable.

We had booked to stay at the cottages as part of a wider family event in the area. Just 5 days from the start of the booking we had to cancel due to the pandemic, kids to evacuate (before borders closed), etc. On contacting Paul and Debbie, they were not only understanding and gracious about it they also refunded our “non-refundable” deposit, which is no small thing in these uncertain times. Whatever else not only have they won our future custom but also reinforced our opinion that there are a lot very decent people out there, including Paul and Debbie. Thank you.

We have just returned from 2 weeks here visiting family in Elgin. It’s perfectly located to the beautiful sites the area has to offer and easy access off the A96. The views are breathtaking from the cottage - we stayed in The Mill. The welcome by Paul and Debbie was lovely. Fresh flowers, cakes and a full tea basket. The kitchen was so well equipped so much so you could even bake a cake here if you wished! The games room was a welcome bonus for our two children who loved just popping along to this at any time of day. Although not the cheapest in the area, we will most defiantly return here!

We have been holidaying in Carden for about the last 10 years, most years with a visit in the spring and autumn. The attraction for our family has been the outstanding cleanliness and comfort of the superbly equiped choice of natural stone cottages. The area has endless opportunities of a vast amount of pursuits whatever we have wished to do and over the years the only dissapointment has been leaving but we just book our next visit with Paul & Debbie which gives us a hankering to get back to the idyllic area. This beautiful steading is superbly located just off the A96 between Forres and Elgin. It's in a great position for easy access to wonderful countryside and lots of tourist things to do. The wildlife on the doorstep and the views north to the firth were outstanding. The quality of the cottage absolutely made our stay. We were greeted with a lovely welcome by hosts debbie and paul. They left us lovely flowers and chocolates (which is standard apparently - everywhere else we've stayed we have had to preorder this and pay extra). The cottage was so well equipped, particularly the kitchen...plenty of utensils, teatowels, pots and pans etc. Lovely fresh linen in the bedrooms. Plenty of proper fluffy towels that are big enough for those of us on the chunky side! Plenty of hot water and lovely and warm on a winter's day. The wind was blowing a hoolie but there was plenty to do at the cottages when the weather turned....a well equipped games room and plenty of books and DVDs to borrow. And for better weather...a lovely outdoor chess set in the gardens. Didn't try on our stay but there are also tennis courts on site. The hosts were super helpful on advising which local eateries to try and their recommendations were spot on...peppermill in forres for lovely lunch and red lion at forres for first class evening meal...gets known locally as the beastie! All in all a perfect stay which had all the home comforts we wanted. Thank you Debbie and Paul. Be back next year.
