Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Where else can you help yourself to cereal, toast, coffee & tea, fruit, washing machine & dryer any time you wish? Lovely friendly host who leaves you to do your own thing. Getting out of the car park was a bit challenging in my rental car, but the host moved her car to help. LOVELY garden setting, in a quiet area of Elgin, which is a good base for the surrounding area....Lossiemouth and the beaches, Inverness, Loch Ness.

Room Tip: I had a ground floor accessible room. I was amazed at how good it was on a budget.

Stayed four nights, double bed was very comfy with ensuite and the host, Wendy was lovely. The property is in a quiet and peaceful location away from busy traffic but within walking distance of TESCOs Supermarket, the local hospital and restaurants. Hope to stay again in the future.

Just spent 3 nights at Old Mill Gardens, this was my first visit to Elgin . I was visiting a friend who has moved there . I was completely blown away by the beautiful, tranquil setting of this utterly gorgeous house . Wendy , the owner is the loveliest person, so helpful, thoughtful and welcoming . The room I was in had everything I needed. A very comfortable bed, a fabulous en-suite , TV ,WI-FI, and so clean . The kitchen is available for guests to do their own thing. A good selection of cereals, bread for toasting and a selection of various things to put on it . Tea , coffee, really whatever you want . The setting , location and house is really superb . So quiet, peaceful and very relaxing , but so close to Elgin and all it has to offer . I have to say , when I go back to see my friend ,I will also look forward to going back to Old Mill Gardens and lovely Wendy .

Three of us from Israel stayed at Old Mills Garden for over a week for a convention at nearby Gordon Castle. We could not have asked for a better place. Wendy is a gracious hostess and her cottage is like a home away from home tucked in a tree-lined country road yet only a 10 minute walk from Elgin. Everything is immaculately kept including the beautiful garden where a resident pheasant family visited us every morning during breakfast. Definitely a memorable place!

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The owner Wendy was very welcoming and friendly and the facilities were first class. Wonderful breakfast with a brilliant choice cooked fresh. 10 minute walk from hospital and city centre. Will definitely use again.

What a welcoming place. Arrived quite late after a very long journey & Wendy could be a better hostess. Everything on tap for me to sort my food out, fantastic room ultra clean and comfortable. Had the best night's sleep followed by a wonderful full Scottish breakfast in the morning. If your up this way it's THE place to stay, highly recommend.

Had a very nice stay. The room is small but perfect for one night stay. Big bed, good WiFi and clean bathroom. Breakfast was good as well. The hostess gave us some tips on what to visit and showed us how to get there. I would happily stay again.
