This was a several days booking that couldn't have been more successful. The location next to Scone Palace is perfect for a wide variety of pursuits. The modern architecture sits well in the landscape and offers 21st century comfort. Acres of easy parking. The attention to clients by the extremely helpful and hard working staff and management, second to none. We were made feel like true VIP'S throughout our stay by the attentions of John and young Ewan, thank you! Will highly recommend, will use again and wish them a brilliant future. Last but not least, must mention their superb restaurant, even as a destination on its own. We have been coming to Perth for business for many years, sometimes staying at much more "starred" establishments, but our dinners at The Lodge are now at the top of our list of "happy eating" memories. Thank you Chefs, and so was the stay itself.
Trust this review, I am demanding, hard to please, grumpy customer!!

Once we found the hotel, (windy and rainy) what a fantastic hotel!,,, first the greeting from the reception,so warm and friendly, and of course helpful.
The room, looked new, really nice and warm, and cosy.
The only problem was trying to fill the kettle, very hard to do with out spilling the water. (Old person problem).
The meal was wonderful, with my fish really nice batter.
My wife wanted a small meal so ordered fish cakes, was told very small, but the chief gave her two (to us very large cakes) plus all the trimmings, once again fantastic wish all restaurants and hotels could think like that!!
On to breakfast, I keep using the word fantastic but sorry it was,,, cooked to order, wow how good was that, did not need to eat all day until home at 9.30.
The morning reception, sorry no name was really helpful and Friendly, a nice touch.
I travel all around the country, and stay in lots of hotels, this hotel must rate as on o the best

Excellent service,

Bob which I think is his name, Checked us in and we then had problems with key cards but was more than happy to resolve. He then cooked an excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner home cooked by his partner and himself. (Bolognes was by the wife apparently...)*5

Arrived and had to share a room with the driver but they only 25 rooms, excess had to stay in the town. Only one towel for my know shared room but Bob delivered a towel, himself, in an hour as the dry cleaners didn't deliver on the day. Whilst still taking all the check it's.

I booked two nights here some months ago on the hotel’s online booking system, having previously stayed here several times. When I recently phoned to amend the booking I was told in no uncertain terms by an extremely rude manager that I couldn’t possibly have a booking as there is a race meeting on and the hotel is closed to the public. Clearly there has been an error in their booking system . My husband is disabled so finding alternative accommodation at one week’s notice was not easy.
I realise that mistakes happen and an apology would have been nice but, despite sending a copy of my “ impossible “ confirmation I have heard nothing .

I am just relieved that we didn’t arrive on Saturday night to find that we had no room as my booking confirmation clearly is meaningless. Beware
Very disappointing as we previously enjoyed staying here but will never book there again.

We booked last minute so ended up paying £184 which may have impacted our opinion because this hotel is fine, it has a comfy bed and pillows, however it was definitely not worthy of paying £184.
Check-in was slow and we were initially given a room someone was already in! We slept with a wedge behind the door in case anyone accidentally got given our room later on.
Breakfast is included, but was flavourless and the bacon really dry.
All-in-all, if we'd only paid the cheaper price, it probably would have been fine, although I'd still skip breakfast.

Our choir of 36 stayed at The Lodge recently and we had a great time. Bob and his team went out of their way to ensure that we had a fantastic stay and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with good facilities and the meals were excellent. We appreciated the peace and quiet of the location at Scone Palace Park and Perth Town Centre was just a short drive away.

Stayed at the Lodge whilst attending a gymnastics competition at Bells Sports centre. First class service, great chilled out location and everything catered for on site. Front of house service simply wonderful from the lady and young man catering to our needs. Everyone extremely friendly which makes it a great relaxed place to stay. Rooms are extremely comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Bob’s delicious sticky toffee pudding and the outstanding chef making breakfast at a time that suited to a late Saturday dinner was wonderful. My daughter was delighted with the specially made delicious chicken pasta on the Saturday after a competition and before the next days competition. Looking forward to our next visit . Peaceful location and with everything on site, no need to have the hassle of trying to find places to eat whilst avoiding the busier centre of Perth. Only a five minute drive to Bells sports centre and a great location for sightseeing.

The food we received, after waiting 50 minutes for sandwiches and soup was cold, tasteless and below average.

The service was shocking and the staff were rude and unhelpful. Had to send my steak sandwich back to the kitchen as it was cold after a 50 minute wait and there was no apology for this.

Would not recommend we were the only table of 7 people in the whole place

A lovely stay from start to finish. Stayed for 3 nights for Rewind. Traci and the team couldn't have been more welcoming; let us check-in early and made us feel really looked after during our stay. Our breakfasts were delicious, piping hot, and tasty - made to order. Bar prices great.....not the usual hotel rip-off costs.

In terms of the room, it was fairly small, but we had everything we needed and was lovely and clean. Plenty of sockets, mirrors, coat hangers, etc. Most importantly, beds are really comfy.

If you're at an event in Scone, it is difficult to see how you could do better than stay there. Already booked to return.

Are there plenty of dog walks near The Lodge
Answer from Fraser F

There was indeed . The area immediately behind the hotel is earmarked for the bypass I believe, but for the time being you can walk your dog freely there and they can get a good run too. Regards Fraser

Is it within walking distance to other pubs etc?
Answer from The Lodge
Perth, United Kingdom
Hi Gillian, the hotel is situated in Perth Racecourse premises, which is very close to scone place. There are a few pubs up the road in Scone which is a 15 minute walk, but to get the nightlife in Perth a 10 minute taxi ride will get you there. Manager
