We booked 3 rooms for 1 night for a wedding at Fingask Castle. The hostess was lovely and chatty and organised with us to serve the wonderful breakfast outside in the courtyard. All 3 rooms were very comfortable with a lovely powerful shower and all rooms had a fridge and hob and tea coffee facilities. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed for 4 nights in room no.4 which was very nice and clean with good facilities. They provide a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster which enabled us to make breakfast and snacks. The shower was brilliant and bed comfortable. It's a good base to stay when visiting the Perthshire area and above.

Excellent all round for the price. Very comfortable and warm, kitchen very functionable as long as you dont intend to cook extravigant meals! Only drawback was that there was nowhere locally to eat. Had a takeaway from the Inchure Hotel which was very good, only to find out later than they would accept dogs

The Courtyard is a fantastic b&b, we would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to family and friends. The accommodation can be compared more to a small apartment than to your typical b&b bedroom. We found the fridge and microwave really handy and also loved the style and layout of our accommodation. Lots of space, and absolutely spotless. The breakfast in the morning was superb and the owners of the Courtyard were lovely. Great place to stay in Perthshire, especially if you're looking for a base to do some sightseeing, as Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow are all within an hour or two's drive. (We stayed there after a trip to Glenshee, which is also about an hour away).
There is a fantastic wine and cider shop just a short walk/drive away with a small park and cafe and some interesting wood carved structures - also worth checking out if you are in the area.

I recently stayed here while I was in Scotland watching the Ryder Cup. The accommodation is very difficult to find, even with a sat nav, mainly because the Scottish Tourist Board has refused the owners permission to erect a sign on the main road giving directions to the place.

However, if you are coming from the South you will come to a Shell petrol station on the main road. About 300 yards after the station you need to take the exit and go right over the carriageway. Follow the road round for another couple of hundred yards and you will come across the entrance to the Courtyard. You can see it as you look across the carriageway from the petrol station but it looks strangely like a lot of old farm buildings.

Anyway, once there the accommodation is spilt into a number of separate chalet type properties, each with sparking space outside the front door. The owners of the property were very friendly and sociable and that reviewer who claimed different clearly didn't know what they were talking about. My accommodation consisted of a two room property as I was meant to be taking the daughter to the Ryder Cup but she never came so that was another story.

The property was very clean and tidy and well equipped with a microwave and small fridge. A reminder though, that if you are visiting you might need to bring your own milk, unless you like your coffee black. The second bedroom was spacious too and there was a separate bathroom with an ample shower. As for breakfast, I arranged this with the owner when I arrived. She was full with other Ryder Cup guests and was more than able to accommodate me and my needs.

Breakfast was serves in the main house where there is a large farmhouse table in an open plan area and the owner cooks breakfast for you in the corner. There were cereals and toast with coffee etc and the owner is a fantastic cook. I sat there with two dutchmen who were touring round Scotland when I visited.

Overall, a delightful property which should be advertised more. Shame on you Scottish Tourism for not allowing them to erect a directions sign. One word of advice, however, is that you need to check when you book in advance that you have paid. When I booked online I left my credit card details and thought that I had paid months in advance. However, it transpired that although my card details had been taken no money had been paid so I had to settle up on the day I left. This was not the fault of the owners, but the site that took the details in the first place. I was not worried about this and was happy to pay, and the owners have card paying facilities, it's just that the property is miles from a bank.

For the golf enthusiast it's a great place to stay for Gleneagles, and the owners are booked up already for the Open at St Andrews.

In summary, great place, lovely owners, wonderful food and very quiet, even though it's only a few years from the main road. Would stay there again without any problems. I was going to put some photo's on here but having already read some of the reviews my pictures are no different from those already there.

This is my second time at the Courtyard and it won't be my last. It offers a very high standard of accommodation in a beautiful rural setting which is only minutes from the motorway ( not that you would know as it is so peaceful).
The owner is absolutely lovely with the warmest welcome and a delicious cooked breakfast .

My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend and had a great time! The wee cottage we stayed in was lovely. We had a fridge and microwave that came in really handy. Fridge for alcohol and the microwave to cook a cheap noodle meal after accidentally ordering a very expensive takeaway from a not so good local restaurant (Rattrays.)

The owner was extremely nice allowing us to check in early and leave 2 hours after check out in the morning.

The cottage was very clean, the bed was very comfy and we even had free Wifi! I would recommend this place to anyone! 5 stars 🌟

This is the first time I have ever posted a comment on here and having just attended the Aberdeen oil show,I wanted you to know how much I rate the accommodation and especially the people.I travel globally for my company stopping in various hotels from 5 star to well less than 1 star.
I arrived 5 hours early and they were all so helpful which is what you need after a 7 hour drive. The rooms are top class and so clean,Wifi, chairs more than enough coffee and tea and the people can not do enough for you.
All I can say is i will be back in January '14 and also next september which is alot more than I can say for some of the 5 star I have stopped at.
Top class people and location amazing
Having seen the negative feedback I can only assume he must be talking about somewhere else.
Thank you 'Courtyard' for a fantastic stay .

When you book accommodation from overseas you rely almost entirely on the website and in this case there needs to be some updating – firstly directions- its very hard to find to the point of irritation – this was raised with the owner and in addition the signage when you might be getting close – very poor, you could drive past the driveway numerous times before you get lucky
It’s a great location when you settle in and with beautiful views makes it an easy place to be and reaffirms your choice, however the owners have not left any charm from the original stables which is a real shame – this would have added much needed character
The accommodation is newish- it is not clean/ spotless by definition and this is unforgivable, it is tidy only and has funny/weird ornaments strewn around???? That does not fit in.
Accommodation is spacious, great for luggage and general moving around space there is underfloor heating in the bathroom which is a treat and comes on at the owners doing not yours
The parking is great safe and secure
From the reviews the locals seem to like this kind of thing and we thought we would too, but there is an air of only the minimum is done to make your stay comfortable
We had to chase toilet paper, and towels which is not hospitality our bins were not emptied daily, no attention to detail, dusty, sticky surfaces, old drink circle marks from previous guests
Owners are happy to take your money but do not follow through
Breakfast was a strange affair – you have to eat within a very small window of time as nominated by the owner- and not too early because that might disturb the routine?
For example you have to advise the day before what you eat- that’s ok, but on the day a very small selection of items is available, you sit in the kitchen at the owners table while she fries it all up- hope you like lots of oil, and then you get cold hard toast, no offer for more fresh and hot, not a generous situation, better off having breakfast in your room at least you will have what you like at whatever time you like
The bed is a twin zipped bed with a hollow/ dip in the middle- bad
There are no face cloths or bathrobes, only 1 water glass when you are booking for 2 people, the clock did not work, very plain décor – no attempt to go that little bit further and make it comfortable and attractive- not a real B&B, no sugar, no tea/coffee provided and the communal situation was uncomfortable, the owner I thought seemed uncomfortable herself like she was going through the motions and could not wait for it all to be over
