Stayed here end of last year and after staying in a couple of other disappointing places since, thought I need to give credit where it's due. The place is spotless and cosy, the food is good. The owners make it though. Finlay is very sociable and friendly. It's one of the few privately owned hotels I'd be happy going back to.
I found staying at the Sunbank House Hotel a great experience. As the name says, it is kind of a house, specially cozy and comfortable, where you can find a friendly and warm treatment by the staff and owners. Besides that, the room and facilities were warm, extremely clean and organized. The food was tasteful and very well made. It has contributed to the "house" feeling. Regarding the Covid situation, I found the hotel provides a safe environment, following the necessary guidelines. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Finlay, for the great time spent at the hotel!
We were due to stay at the station hotel in Perth and were disgusted to say the least. Arrived without warning at this place and were caught acting furtively in the car park. Finlay invited us in and booked a table at the local Indian for us and even gave us a lift into town as dinner was finished for the evening. Lovely, clean, welcoming hotel and deserves every success in the future. Thanks.
Where to start? From the warm personal welcome, the cosy comfortable room, the nespresso machine, the view of the garden and across the city, sparkly bathroom with piping hot water and white towels, right through to the very nice evening dinner and fresh cooked breakfast - we enjoyed it all despite the rain. The Covid rules were clearly explained and well managed too. The only downside for us was we couldn’t have a good glass of wine with our dinner but that’s not Sunbanks issue it’s current regulations. We stayed in a superior room as we like a large bed, we had a view of the garden and could see the road through the trees but we were not troubled by any road noise ( good double glazing). Thanks for a great stay
Sunbank is on the bank of the Tay facing the city. The team are very friendly and take Covid very seriously. The hotel is scrupulously clean throughout. We chose to have dinner there because of the local restrictions and it was very good. Would recommend this as a good place to explore Perth and the surroundings.
