Detailed Reviews
We only stayed here for 1 night but would happily have stayed longer. Our room was clean and a good size with a huge king size bed and a comfy sofa bed for my son. The grounds were lovely, close to a river and some beautiful countryside. We didn’t use the bar or dining room as we were advised they were only offering a limited menu, but the friendly receptionist was happy to recommend places to eat in Perth and call a taxi for us. They delivered a good quality crussh breakfast to our door in the morning which had something to please everyone. It was much better than any of the travel lodges or premier inns I’ve ever stayed in, and considering breakfast was included didn’t cost much more and offered much better value for money. It’s obviously normally used as a wedding venue so maybe that’s why the rooms are being offered for such a good price at the moment but we would happily return.

Lovely big comfortable room with excellent service and plenty parking too.
Breckfast was great too.
The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been bottled water in our room. However drinking water was available in the reception area for you to poor a glass and take to the room. Yourself.

Stayed at the hotel with my 1 year old grandson who has many food allergies . Since the restaurant had a limited menu due to Corvid 19 they were very accommodating in warming up meals for him to eat in our room .
Prior to our visit we received a call explaining the protocol and changes at the hotel due to the two week circuit breaker and government guidelines during this unprecedented time.
The hotel public areas are very clean with lots of cleaning stations and the rooms are also very clean . We felt very comfortable staying there and would highly recommend this hotel .
Location great with lovely walks from the hotel and even pet friendly .
Fantastic breakfast served in your room .

We just left after a 2 day stay at the Huntingtower Hotel. I was really excited to stay here after hearing great reviews but have to say we were incredibly disappointed. To start with, the booking process itself was ridiculous, it took more than 20 minutes on the phone to reserve a room and on a premium rate number...On arrival, the hotel is set in a beautiful location in stunning grounds, but we were disappointed that our room was not very clean, marks on the radiator, in the bath and makeup on the door handles, the bed was poorly made, sheets not tucked properly and 2 of the lightbulbs were out. For dinner, we ate from their very reduced menu (burgers, macaroni cheese, curry or a Caesar salad) I had a salad which was less than average with overcooked chicken and soggy bacon. We were also disappointed that the bar was only open between 3pm and 9:30pm so the next morning we couldn’t even get a glass of water or a cup of tea other than having one in our room in the paper cups provided. I understand that Covid has prevented normal service but our experience was definitely far less than the 4 star we were expecting.

This hotel is located about 3 miles west of Perth in a nice location next to the river Almond. The drive to it, and the first impression when arriving is of grandeur. The ground floor communal spaces and rooms are very well appointed supporting the view that this is a building with a past of grandeur still hanging onto those grand days. The reception staff were very polite and helpful although we did have to wait half an hour beyond our check-in time to have access to our room. The room was large enough as was the en-suite with bath and shower over. The Queen bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of cupboard space. No fridge nor drinks cabinet however, expected in 4 star hotels. The grounds were extensive providing a nice perimeter walk alongside the River Almond. All else was unfortunately disappointing. Due to Covid restrictions face masks were required in communal areas and each day you entered the bar area you had to give your contact details regardless of whether you were staying there or not. This became irritating. Also due to Covid there was no breakfast service in the restaurant which was odd given that the restaurant was open for evening dinner. However, a standardised continental breakfast was provided to the rooms each morning. We did not like much of the content and thus much was wasted. Hot rolls could be added to supplement however with a choice of bacon, sausage or egg. We had tried each and found all to be disappointing. Bacon too hard, sausages tasteless and egg was fried and cold.
We had one evening meal in the restaurant from a limited menu. I had a burger and my wife a Thai curry. Again both disappointing. That was the only evening we ate in the hotel.
We were looking forward to our 4 night stay from their web site description but unfortunately came the conclusion that it did not live up to its 4 star billing. This is really a 3 star hotel. The service level did not match up to the grandeur of its building. We requested our room to be serviced on the second day. The bedroom was tidied but the bathroom was untouched resulting in a complaint.
Perhaps the hotel was struggling with too few staff to maintain it properly, but whatever the reasons, it failed to live up to its 4 star rating. I could not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again.

We just came back from a 2 night stay with my Mum and my dog. It was great that this hotel was dog friendly as always want to take him with us. We wanted to have a little break since we’ve been stuck at home during covid for so long.
On arrival it was evident we were one of very few families staying at the hotel which was good as we wanted a quiet stay.
The hotel is located in a lovely area of Perth next to the Almond River walk and it is nice quiet area.
The only noise issue we had was the floorboards but it was so noisy it kept me awake whenever the guests above our room were walking around.
They were up at 5 and 6 in the morning both days so I didn’t get a lie in. I know it’s an old building but the floorboards are really awful.
We ate in the restaurant the first evening. No alcohol was served (which we were aware of anyway) due to covid and there was also no music. We were the first to enter the dining room and other couples and families came in after. It was rather awkward due to the strange atmosphere. The food was nice but there was not enough of it. We both had the Thai green curry which had chicken through it but I think we were lucky if we even got 4 bits each.
In the room they had a QR code on a leaflet which took you to the menu but this menu wasn’t the one they were serving. The one they had on offer was very limited in choice. I would say the best parts of both meals we had when staying were the deserts as we thoroughly enjoyed them.
The only thing we found strange was room service had to be collected by yourself. I thought they would have brought it to your door at least and left it outside considering it was £6 extra to have room service. I had to go back twice as we had two trays. We had a chicken burger the second evening which came with chips and it was a steep price of 14 quid.
The bed was very comfy and the shower was excellent even though the bathroom was a little dated. Our dog enjoyed the bed as well as he slept on it with us both nights.
On the second day we decided to take the dog out for a walk and asked the receptionist if they had a map of the route since they state on the website there are maps to collect at reception. She did not have any but said we could do the river walk which she said would be around 2 miles. We headed off and an hour and a half later we were still nowhere near getting back to the hotel. We think she meant it was a 2 HOUR walk not two miles!
We ended up getting a taxi back from an area just off the almond walk path as the dog was shattered by this point. (He’s only little). We were glad to get back into the warmth and have a rest after that ordeal! Lovely walk but be prepared for how long it takes as we were clueless!
Overall we had a nice stay but the food was a little disappointing on the menu and that the floorboards were so noisy. We would stay there again if we were on the 2nd floor and hopefully we can go back when covid is no longer an issue.

We booked a four night stay in one of their cottages and paid top dollar for the privilege but the hotels use of the term “cottage” borders on misrepresentation. The accommodation is nothing more than an ageing timber cabin with signs of neglect wherever you look (see photo of plastic roof !).
The furniture had been renewed but the carpet was worn and dirty and the walls lacked any meaningful insulation resulting in noises from the adjoining “cottage” being very audible which was quite embarrassing at times.
There was no housekeeping although we were told there would be on request. We made the request , several times, but it fell on deaf ears with result that we had to make our own bed, take out our trash and complain to get fresh towels which was very disappointing given that this is said to be a four star hotel. Fortunately there was a Tesco store nearby and they had towels on a price promotion so we were able to buy a batch of them and solve the problem.
The only plus point in our stay was the breakfast and the breakfast staff.
On checkout I made my disappointment known to the staff but I was met with complete indifference by staff who seemed to be well used to listening to complaints from unhappy guests.
This hotel is part of a chain ( Jury’s I think) and this experience has convinced me to NEVER AGAIN book one of their hotels.

Good Afternoon Explore62343099231, Thank you for staying at Leonardo Hotel Boutique Huntingtower Perth and for leaving a review. It is truly amazing to hear that you loved the breakfast and staff, which were very important on every guest stay. We are very sorry that the staff were unresponsive. This is not the service and accommodation standard that we usually have and your remarks are taken very seriously. We are working with our housekeeping teams to ensure that this issue does not re-occur and we hope that we can welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future. We stayed at Leonardo Boutique Huntingtower for 2 nights in August 2021. The shared spaces in the hotel were lovely, however the room itself & the way our feedback was handled was really disappointing to the point we feel compelled to leave our first review. The toilet brush was used and dirty, there was thick mold along the showers edges, and the walls were really quite a mess. All together, we were left feeling like we were in an unclean space. The staff at the front desk were lovely when we informed them, and promised to look into the option of a room transfer while also arranging for a cleaner to revisit the current one. However, apart from a toilet brush change, everything else stayed the same. There was no note or follow-up with us to ask about the room and whether we were satisfied, or whether or not it was possible for us to be changed to a new room. When we repeated our concerns the next morning and at the time of payment (which was difficult as non-confrontational people), there was no further explanation of what had gone wrong or offer of refund / compensation for our two nights, which we felt would have been appropriate for the situation considering the costs. All in all, sadly, we would not recommend this hotel, least of all for a romantic getaway.

Good Afternoon kbleymann88, Thank you very much for your stay and for taking the time to review your stay, we are happy to read that you found the communal areas of our hotel to be lovely! I sincerely apologise for the room and bathroom not being of our normal cleanliness standards. Unfortunately external factors outside of our control have made it difficult for us to deliver our usual standard of product and service. As you have no doubt become aware, the impact of the pandemic, the shortage of available labour, and faced with supply chain issues continues to present significant challenges for the hospitality industry. I am very sorry to hear that you found the service to be below the highest standards we set for ourselves. We will be working with our teams to improve this and we really hope that we can welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future. Kind Regards Melisa Customer Experience Team

Despite booking and confirming a double room on arrival we were advised they only had a twin, somehow after 30 mins of persuasion they found a double. It was at the back of the hotel over a car park by the Function suite and lorries started arriving at 0600 to unload products and this continued - NOISILY- until about 0845.
The room was NOT CLEAN (despite COVID-19)and TV reception was very poor ( on a really ancient 20”TV)
In their literature they say the hotel has free WiFi everywhere but when you arrive you get a letter with bits of info amongst which it advises that the WiFi is patchy ( you bet! very, dropping out all the time )
Phone reception isn’t great either.
We won’t recommend or return
Would suggest a Premier Inn or Travelodge are far better value.

Unfortunately this hotel didn't live upto its expectations. It's a pretty grubby, outdated hotel. There was a lot of visible dust in our room. Not just dust, but the skirting clearly hadn't been wiped for months. The shower wash had been topped up but looked like it's the same bottle that's been used for ages, and it had stuff floating in it so that was a nope from me. Cleaners left someone's rooms tray on the landing we noticed as they were cleaning on our way out, we happened to notice it was still left there (with leftover food on it) when we got back from our day out in the evening. On our first night we had to eat there as it was late. The food is pretty average and way overpriced for what it is. I'd have had a better meal at a whetherspoons. Pretty gutted, felt like we had wasted £77. Our room wasn't cleaned on the first day ehich is fine but we then had to ask for more milk and toilet roll.
It's certainly NOT Boutique like the name suggests.

Please note that rooms are cleaned on request, to keep with our environmental commitments and I know our team would have been delighted to support with any issues that arose. We do apologies that you found the bottle of soap not be great and will inform the staff imminently to change the bottle so the problem will not reoccur.
