we walked in the lovely doors and we were back to the Victorian era, the hotel was warm and inviting , it seemed to wrap its arms around us, it had many of the original Victorian features a lovely lounge not a hint of stainless steel , only the the TV to let us know that we were in 2016,...

I booked this hotel as it offered a family room and was close to the centre of Pitlochry which was ideal for he Emchanted Forest. The hotel was lovely and really comfortable. Like someone else said it is like stepping back in time but in a really good way. There was not a tv in the room or wifi and...

Step back to an earlier era. However, absolutely not in a bad way, but to a time when the world was slower, simpler and more civilised. Great for a break away from the stresses of modern life. Hosts absolutely magnificent, and the House itself was immaculate. Expected Queen Victoria and her Scottish servant John Brown to appear at any time!...

We stayed here for three nights, and had a fine time. Service and hospitality is excellent, and the well travelled host is most helpful with tips for local sightseeing and stories from his own exploits into the Boreal wilderness of Northern Norway in the seventies when gravel was wet an tarmac was for soft southern folk.

Stayed here last month for the Etape, really only required a bed for the night, somewhere near to Pitlochry. My start time was at 06:30 so was trying to work out what I could take with me for a breakfast as did not expect to get anything made for me. Called a few days before and was amazed to hear...

Loved my stay here back in 2013 (not 2015 as the date says, sorry)! :) Owners were very helpful and told amazing stories about Scotland. Breakfast was delicious, my room had a gorgeous view of the gardens, and I got to explore Pitlochry while there based on the recommendations provided.

Of all the B&Bs we stayed in this was one of the most traditional. The room was comfortable, it overlooked the garden, with a big bed and a smallish but perfectly adequate bathroom. Our host was very welcoming and recommended that we should visit Applecross in Wester Ross, which was very good advice.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open from Mid-March to late October, Fasganeoin is an ideal choice for a holiday in the highlands. A warm and friendly atmosphere is the essence of our small hotel which is full of old fashioned charm and character. The hotel stands in one acre of mature grounds overlooking The Tummel Valley and hills beyond. The house is of special interest to Japanese. It is the house of architect Thomas Renny, whose great friend was 'Souseki Natsume' the great poet.(Renny was also a timber merchantto Japan & Russia in the 1800's with a fleet of ships in port Glasgow). Renny died in 1899. We have 8 individually furnished letting bedrooms with hospitality tray and hairdryer in each. Relax in our peaceful lounge overlooking the garden with a coffee and home-baking. Weather permitting, we are happy to serve you outside in the garden, if you wish. We offer secure private parking and a lock-up bicycle shed is available for our guests' use. We speak German fluently (Recommended in German publication : Baedeker Guide) We have cared for 'Fasganeoin' for over 40 years. Small groups welcome for hill walking. First hand information of hill and surrounding area walks given. We are featured in 'The Hidden Places of Scotland' by Travel Publishing Ltd on page 510.
