Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have over the past 8 years wrote a few reviews, but as beautiful that it has always been, this was the best. Pauline and I are totally in love with this wonderful hotel. Everything about your stay will fill you with relaxation. The new chef has new ideas, and we totally love his food. We both agreed that should we stop traveling aboard, this is the only wonderful place we want to be.. Beautiful thanks to every member of staff, more to the staff in the kitchen which nobody see...

Dear Ian and Pauline, It was lovely to have two of our favourite Dundonians back with us at the Green Park, and as ever, we are in your debt for your very generous review. You just missed all of this morning's excitement - a considerable tree fell down during the night, completely blocking Clunie Bridge Road. Thankfully help was at hand in the shape of legendary local builder Malky and his stalwart band. An hour later all was back to normal and you wouldn't have known what all the fuss was about. A very handy man to know. We hope that the two of you had a lovely journey back home and we very much look forward to your next visit. Best regards, Alistair

We are humbled that you chose us and even more delighted to read that all went well ! We will be sure to pass on your thanks to all who looked after you here. We hope that you all had a safe journey home and we look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards, Alistair, Diane and the rest of the team.

We have just had our second stay at Green Park and again had a super time. The staff cannot do enough for you . We were however disappointed at the change in menu and all the strange added extra ingredients, not for us, we had to ask for plain chicken for example. We still had a lovely time. Would we go back, not unless the menu changes I'm afraid.

Dear Fairygodmother123, Great to have you back at the Green Park and many thanks for your very honest review. We make a valiant attempt each day to be all things for all men, but it is foolish of us to think that this can be done. As it is I find it hard enought to keep Diane happy ! If you ever change your mind and opt to return again, please get in touch in advance so that we can have a go at tailoring a menu more to your liking. Best regards, Alistair

Near the end of October I was once again at this beautiful hotel. We have been going for a number of years now. This time my son decided to treat me to a two day break. Sadly hubby was left at home to look after the dog. 🥲 Everything was perfect. Room, food, atmosphere etc. lovely and peaceful as usual. My son enjoyed it too. We will definitely be back in 2024. Just too good to miss.

Dear ellybly, Many thanks for returning to us at the Green Park and for going to the trouble of posting a review. Your very generous comments are much appreciated by us all - and great to read that your son also enjoyed his time with us. Here we are off to a good start this morning, with a lovely sunny view to the hills. I even had to use the cars sun visor on my usual frantic run to the CoOp for emergency supplies. You can never have enough Actimel for breakfast. Thanks again for your repeat custom and please say hello to hubby and the dog from us all. Best regards, Alistair

We're just back home from our second stay at The Green Park this year, and have already booked to return next Spring. What makes The Green Park hotel so special ? The calm and welcoming atmosphere, the amazingly friendly staff who are always willing to help, the hotel is spotless throughout and comfort levels are second to none. What can we say about the food, other than . . . superb ! The breakfasts are the best we've ever had in any hotel we've ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Try the porridge with cream, brown sugar and whisky ! It will certainly put a spring in your step. The dinner menu is extremely varied and is sure to have something for everyone. We were spoilt for choice every night ! This was our first October visit and it is a wonderful time to be there. The autumn colours were spectacular. The views of the hotel and from the hotel were perfect. We can't wait to return next Spring. Judith & Alan Butterfield.

Dear Judith and Alan, Great to welcome you again and glad to read that you enjoyed your October adventure. The autumn colours are a great plus this time of year - and the bonus is that they seem to last a little bit longer each fall. This morning has brought the first real frost of the year. Our resident robin is outside reception, busy fighting off all-comers from a wee pile of birdfood. He would be better advised to eat the food along with the rest of the birds and to try relaxing a little ! Thanks again for your continued custom and we look forward to welcoming the two of you again next year. Best regards, Alistair

Not long back from our annual visit and so pleased to find the same warm welcome as always. It’s just lovely and the setting is spectacular. I also maintain it’s the best breakfast anywhere…. One thing is we guess there is a new chef? Am I right? The dinner menu seems to feature some new ingredients and slightly smaller portions. This is by no means a criticism as the meals we had were excellent. Our party of four enjoyed dinner immensely but we’ve not seen the likes of miso or “bang bang” on the menu at the Green Park before. A lovely relaxing stay and spoiled as usual. Looking forward to next years visit already!

Dear 2louises, Great to welcome all four of you back to the Green Park - and even better to read that you all enjoyed your time with us. Your positivity is such a boost ! Here at the hotel another chapter has indeed opened for us, with Graeme ( Pallister ) - late of award winning 63 Tay Street in Perth - having joined as our new chef. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Graeme on board. A more likeable, talented and hard working individual you will struggle to find. Many thanks again for your custom and we look forward to welcoming you all again next year. Best regards, Alistair

Too many superlatives and reviwers will say that the title exaggerates. Not at all. The wonderful friendliness of the staff, superb food in portion sizes that suit everyone and a bedroom with views of Loch Fascally that refresh the spirit. The hotel is a masterpiece of quiet elegance in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our next stay at The Green Park is already booked!

Dear bjallen18, It was lovely to welcome you back to Pitlochry and the Green Park, and to receive such a glowing testimonial - we all must have been on our best behaviour during your stay ! Here the autumn colours keep evolving, with the view from the Sun Lounge being particularly impressive. The only two people not to appreciate the change, are the 'two Pauls' who are responsible for clearing up the fallen leaves. One minute they have a lovely clear drive, then enxt they are back to square one. God bless whoever invented the leave blower. It is great to read that you have booked to return again in 2024. We look forward to welcoming you then - and we send our best wishes for the festive season in the meantime. Best regards, Alistair

A beautiful hotel set in fantastic grounds. My husband booked a Saturday night stay with Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (£160 per person per night = £320 per night!!) The staff were friendly. As soon as we walked in we realised that all the residents were of a senior age which should have been advertised or have been made known prior to booking. The room 32 was spacious and we had a side view of Loch Faskally. Even the bathroom was adapted for seniors with disability aids. There was no usb points in the room and the radiator was leaking which we mentioned when leaving. There was tea/coffee facilities with cakes and biscuits in the lounge in the afternoon and pre dinner sherry! was available prior to dinner. The daily dinner menu we felt was not varied enough. I chose the lemon sole and my husband chose the steak option which was an extra £15 supplement on top!! I would have chosen the steak but I could not justify the extra payment. The food was good but not enough vegetables on the table for two people. There was no dessert that we liked so we were offered an alternative. I hardly slept due to the fact that our double bed was made up of two single beds. Breakfast was tasty but lukewarm although we were told the plates were hot. We did mention all these comments on leaving and was told that they would pass it onto management. I believe we should have received an offer off the final bill.

Dear Vacation43671805419, First things first - many thanks from us all for taking the plunge and trying out the Green Park. That said, sorry to read that we weren't really the type of destination that you were looking for. I am a little bit envious of the two of you as I am fast running out of places where I feel remotely young ! Thanks again for trying us out and we hope that your journey home was a safe one after Storm Babet. Best regards, Alistair NB - Many thanks for pointing out the lack of a USB point in your bedroom. I thought we had one in every bedroom but you are absolutely right. We will get right on it.

It is a few years since I have had the pleasure of staying at The Green Park Hotel and on this occasion it was a birthday treat from my daughter, The hotel was as I remembered it with stunning views, excellent service, spotlessly clean rooms and an impressive selection of artwork around the corridors and public rooms. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the breakfast buffet selection has to be the best I have had in any hotel. The civilised pre-dinner sherry in the lounge allows you to choose at leisure from the menu and orders are taken once seated at a table of your choice in the bright dining room. The hotel gardens in early September were bright and colourful, the lawns beautifully manicured and there are several seats in strategic positions for those who wish to sit and admire the view or read a book. For those who require them the hotel also offers the use of motorised wheelchairs. Dogs are welcome and catered for. The general atmosphere is restful and relaxing and various courses are run during the year, as well as offers of transport and theatre tickets for those interested.

Dear 25traveller25, Many thanks from us all for returning to Pitlochry and the Green Park, and great to read that your birthday stay was a success. Your supportive comments are a real shot in the arm. Here it is a beautiful morning. My first executive job in the early hours is to clean any bird pooh off the outside tables and chairs, but even after all of these years you cannot help but take in the view over Loch Faskally towards the hills. We counrt ourselves very lucky to be based in such a location. Thanks again for taking the trip up from Stirling and we look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards, Alistair
