Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My daughter and one of my sons and I stayed at SILVERHOWE over the weekend of the 2021 Etape Caledonia. The whole experience was excellent. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, and our breakfasts were fantastic. Trudy and David were very experienced with the requirements of cyclists and organised everything, including an early breakfast, to meet our requirements. Highlight for me was the friendly and welcoming approach from the hosts!

We managed to secure a last-minute booking here for one night, which was quickly arranged by the owner Trudy via email. The price was very reasonable and when we arrived, we found a lovely, large house with a pretty garde and ample parking. Our host greeted us at the front door, had explained the breakfast and lounge facilities and had us on the way to our room which was very clean, spacious and well laid out with nice views of the rear garden. After we returned to the house later that night, we both slept like logs in the peaceful surroundings. Breakfast the following morning was very tasty, freshly cooked whilst owner David spoke with us and other guests. We couldn't say one bad thing about any element of our stay and woukd definitely recommend David and Trudy's B&B to anyone thinking of spending time in the Pitlochry area.

Finding the Silver Howe was easy - situated on Perth Road, the 'old' main road before the new A9 bypassed it. Easy parking. Friendly welcome, with a free town plan supplied, along with a host of suggestions of things to do / places to eat. (There are a number of takeaways in the town, though guests are asked to have these in the breakfast room rather than in their rooms - it's a fair request.) Good cooked breakfast - selected on the morning, rather than pre-selected the day before. TV (slightly limited choice of channels, maybe due to the location down in the valley), en suite shower/WC, somewhere to park the laptop and work, although the stool was a bit on the low side. Plenty of power points to recharge what needed recharging. Close to the railway line, but it's not like there's a constant stream of rail traffic at all hours. Verdict : would be happy to come back here.

The owners were lovely, welcoming, really helpful and went out of their way to ensure I had a great visit to the area,, I stayed for 4 nights and had a spacious twin room with en-suite. This place is on the edge of town, close to some woodland trails and just a short walk to the town centre. Lots of choice at Breakfast. Very good value for money. Thank you.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast representing very good value for money. The room was clean and spacious with separate en-suite, the breakfasts were very good, and the owners could not have been more welcoming and were also very informative about local attractions. This all led to me having a super break. This will definitely be my first choice for any future breaks in Pitlochry.

Stayed for one night in August while motorcycling across Scotland and the owners were very nice and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you've been accommodated. The room was super clean, the wifi worked, and the breakfast was a really good treat- they put a lot of different food out for the guests. The bed was really comfortable and B&B was quiet. David had room in his garage for my motorcycle which gave me some peace of mind. Really friendly owners, too. If you're on a motorcycle, this is the place to stop. Very, very biker friendly.

I spent two comfortable nights here in a very spacious en-suite room complemented by a great Scottish breakfast. The house was on the outskirts of Pitlochry but it was just a 15 minute stroll to get into the centre of town. They cater for Hikers & Bikers here and have a drying room in the grounds of the property which was very handy indeed.

This was our first stop on our motorcycle holiday touring the North Coast 500 route. The owners David and Trudi could not have been more helpful or welcoming. They greeted us as we rode in, which is always nice and showed us to a lovely, spacious, warm room which was more than adequate for our needs. David makes sure that motorcycles are kept dry by putting them into the garage. There is also a drying room if needed. (Always a bonus). The breakfast was super and we had a smashing table that looked out onto the garden and very popular bird feeder. David and Trudi were vey friendly and David have us details of a great route to follow for the very best views. It was a shame to leave. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy their friendship and facilities which made us feel so welcome.
