We were both very impressed with our first visit to the hotel from the impressive approach road to the route from reception to the top floor and our superior double room. The room was spacious with great views of the garden an surrounding woods. Very comfortable bed. Gods reception free WiFi and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was of a high standard...

Appalling stay in old house where they had turned the heating off in October in the Highlands of Scotland. Thermostat in room did not work and after a freezing sleepless night they were very abrupt in the morning that it was our fault we did not play with the radiator in the room. Overpriced do not stay here.

A relaxing three nights of comfort and very good service. The superior room had a nice view over the garden with red squirrels as a bonus. Lovely breakfasts and beautiful dinners served by nice friendly staff. Perhaps the menu could have even more variations each night but there is an excellent choice. This is not a modern, trendy hotel but...

Nice cosy looking victorian house in a big private garden. Lovely bar/ lounge area downstairs but bedroom a bit dated with a mixture of wooden furniture and some flaky paintwork. Very poor shower (no flow and only tepid water) Dinner on-site was fine but very slow service on second night. Good breakfat though.

“The suite was perfect, but was baking hot and we had to turn all the heating off to be able to sleep comfortably. A bag of recycling waste was left outside our room for the entirety of our stay. These are small items that did not in any way cancel out our great enjoyment of our stay. Best regards. ”
