Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is so cosy and comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome by Big Karen and her staff. Our rooms and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The room we shared was perfect for friends, with two separate but adjoining bedrooms. The beds were super comfy, we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was yummy, poached eggs perfect!! The hotel has a wee bar for late afternoon/early evening drinks, with comfy sofas. Just a perfect stay had by us all. Thank you guys, we will definately be back!!

During our recent stay at Acarsaid, we were fortunate enough to experience the outstanding hospitality provided by Big Karen and her lovely staff. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Her warm and welcoming demeanour set the tone for our entire stay. Her attention to detail and genuine care for guests was evident in every interaction. She was quick to address any questions or requests we had, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Not only did Big Karen excel in her role, but she also demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the local area, providing invaluable recommendations for dining and activities. Her insights greatly enhanced our overall experience. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The hotel itself was clean, conveniently located, comfortable beds and a great tea tray, but it was truly Big Karen's exceptional service that made our stay unforgettable. Her dedication to guest satisfaction is a testament to the quality of service provided at this establishment. We highly recommend Acarsaid especially if you have the pleasure of being assisted by Big Karen. Her hospitality truly made our stay a memorable one, and we look forward to returning in the future.

From the lovely warm welcome, to the really extensive (and delicious) breakfast choices, this place is exceptional value for money and a “wee gem”. We had a “room” for three friends sharing, which was actually a single room and separate twin room in the same “unit”. Spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with powerful shower, toiletries etc. kettle. Tea, coffee etc and some nice biscuits too. Very cosy, comfortable and great location for exploring Pitlochry. Would return in a heartbeat.

Cosy room with lovely subtle Scottish theming. Upgraded to a king bed and enjoyed the extra space. Great on site parking available and appreciated all the amenities provided. Had great chats with Karen whilst enjoying the cosy downstairs sitting area.

Another great stay at the Acarsaid. Stayed here for an event in the town, room was fab, clean and comfortable, proper coffee maker, tea tray, great bathroom (even provide toothbrushes and the tiniest toothpaste ever seen just in case you forgot to pack yours) Breakfast freshly cooked to order. They don't do dinner, but have a wee lounge bar with a cosy fire where you can sit and have a wee dram (or a wee G&T) A big shout out to Karen, from checking us in, to pouring a fab pink gin and then up cooking the breakfast the next morning, amazing lady.

A good, honest, reasonably priced, comfortable hotel with great staff and a remarkable breakfast. We stayed for only one night as part of our 'Highland Tour' with family visiting from Australia. Unbeknowen to us, they had stayed here before and were more than happy with our choice. Its convenient too with the town centre only a short stroll away. Great minds think alike !

We can't say enough about our stay at Acarsaid Bed and Breakfast. Everything was so neat and tidy. It was super clean and decorative offering wonderful views of this gorgeous town. "Big" Karen, as she introduced herself, was a delight. She offered everything we needed with a lot of stories involving much laughter. We enjoyed all the sitting areas to play cards at night. Karen instructed us on how to hike to the local dam that was spectacular. Charming is the word I think of when I remember our stay here.

Beautifully comfortable, wonderfully friendly and accommodating staff, free parking, nice breakfast, budget friendly. We stayed here as a last minute booking, tired after a road trip around the highlands. The receptionist had been there since 6am and still waited up for us to get something to eat before we retired for the night. She also added a £10 discount to our bill. The dining room staff in the morning were bright, humourous, and attentive. Overall experience was very good. Would certainly recommend to others and will keep it in mind for our next trip :)

Excellent stay!! A warm greeting upon arrival met the wonderful Karen who made us feel ever so welcome. The room was fabulous (room 4) great comfortable bed, lovely and clean bathroom had the usual essentials soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, toothbrushes, vanity kit etc.. as well as robes & slippers. Breakfast was fantastic! A warm friendly welcome from Hazel who every morning was cheerful & simply brilliant at what she does in the dining room. The buffet choices were plentyful , yougurt, prunes, cereal, cheese, meats, croissants and fruit juices The menu had your usual scottish breakfast, smoked salmon & scrambled egg, haddock & poached egg, kippers, pancakes , porridge etc and they do cater for special dietary requirements Breakfast Was cooked to perfection and set us up for our days so thank you! Our only criticisms is how long it took cooked food with the other staff member as well as her demeanor which seemed to be directed to every table most mornings. Overall we had a fantastic stay, spotlessly clean, close to the town centre, great breakfast.

I always read reviews so like to be honest. Our room was large with very comfy bed and pillows. Room was very clean except for the remote control for tv it was horrible. Kettle and coffee in room but no tea bags. Could do with a little decor update in corridors. Front reception rooms were lovely and so was breakfast room. Breakfast was great, plenty choice. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would stay here again
