Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ideal for a local overnight stay. Use of the Spa from mid-afternoon check-in until midday after check-out is a great feature. The poolside area could have been cleaned a bit more regularly, but the Spa areas make for a relaxing stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff very obliging. The standard of the hotel has improved since our last visit of summer last year. Good to see that there is work taking place to further improve the infrastructure.

Took my wife for a birthday treat since she loves the area and had experienced a couple of previous visits for a drink and the stunning views over the water . We booked a spacious room overlooking the Loch. All staff were friendly and approachable. It is also a nice size of hotel compared to some others in scotland which in turn provides a little more ambience. We would certainly consider further trips in the future.

A wonderful hotel, with fantastic service. We felt at home in a castle suite, with gorgeous views around the area. The 7 course taster menu was exquisite, especially when paired with the wine flight. It truly felt like we'd escaped for a weekend adventure.

The hotel facilities were very good. The location quite superb. All of the staff were absolutely excellent - right across the board from start to finish. We were made to feel very welcome with nothing being too much trouble for our enjoyment. Will be back.

A wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel in Highland Perthshire for my husband's 50th. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel very welcome. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. The spa is well equipped and luxurious. The food at the brasserie is well presented and delicious. We will be back!

I can't praise the staff highly enough! We were a party of 4 with one in a wheelchair. We were greeted and helped without any fuss and made to feel very comfortable and welcome. Accessibility was excellent for the wheelchair. We ate in the 1892, overlooking the loch with fabulous views. Food was delicious and well presented. Brilliant place, definitely one to return to! Thank you for looking after us so well.

My fiancée and I recently enjoyed a night away at fonab castle and had dinner in one of the pods. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was epic with a delightful view over looking the Loch. Absolutely excellent stay and would highly recommend. We will be back for sure.

We only stayed here one night but the staff made us feel very welcome. The room was superb. We dined in the 1892 restaurant and had a very good crab pasta. Breakfast was from a menu rather than the usual buffet style. That was great except the service was a bit slow and they forgot about our request for toast. These are minor niggles for what was a rather delightful hotel.

We stayed for one night for a special occasion as we had often passed the hotel but never stayed there. The room was comfortable and warm but we had issues with the door lock which my wife was totally unable to operate and when we mentioned it at checkout the reception staff seemed aware that it was an issue. The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and we throughly enjoyed out stay there.
