Detailed Reviews
Stayed for 2 nights on 18/19 September for my birthday and had an absolute fabulous stay. It is a bit expensive for accommodation but for the location, the quality of the food, service, welcome and rooms (we stayed in a standard room and although compact and bijoux, was extremely comfortable), I would say makes it worth it. The food in the restaurant was better quality than a high class hotel we dined in on another night, all freshly cooked to order. The breakfast choices and quality were fantastic and plenty of choice for my fish loving husband. Covid-wise, there are numerous sanitisers throughout and a one way system which felt really safe. The staff are amazing, accommodating, welcoming and we will definitely return.

Having had 3 foreign holidays cancelled this year due to COVID we decided to have a 2 night break at home and after reading all the reviews we opted to stay at The Old Mill Inn and we were suitably impressed.
We arrived just after 11:00am and we managed to get one of the few parking spaces behind the Inn. Our room was available so we were quickly checked in and unpacked by 11:30 thanks to Jenny on reception.
There was a one way system and hand sanitizers were placed throughout the Inn inside and out and all the staff wore face masks.
Our deluxe room was on the first floor No.1 and was very tastefully decorated with chic furnishings, everything was in very good condition, there was a hairdryer, welcome tray and a Nespresso machine, bottled water and hand sanitiser, there was also a fan which we used as the room was quite hot. The bathroom was large with a separate shower and a luxurious large modern bath and good quality towels, there was also shampoo, bath foam, body wash and body lotion.
The room itself was quiet and it was also handy for the car park.
We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant which was very excellent, there was track and trace and a menu QR scanner on every table and the staff were constantly cleaning. Breakfast was also very good
The management of The Old Mill obviously look after their staff well as this was apparent in their attitude to their work, the service was first class, and all the staff were friendly, helpful and very happy.
Check out was also efficient.
Overall this was a great couple of days and we had fantastic weather for our 2 day stay which was a bonus and I would highly recommend a visit to The Old Mill Inn for a short break.

Had the pleasure of staying in the Old Mill Inn Pitlochry on 05/03/20.
Imagine the perfect mix of a superb gastro pub with amazing food and then a 5 star small boutique hotel just upstairs. I couldn’t believe my luck when I stayed in this beautiful hotel. My only wish is I would love to have stayed longer but my business trip was only two days. It is definitely one I will return to for a short break in the picturesque area of Pitlochry.
When it’s right it’s just right and this little treasure gets it right on all counts, hats off to the owners/ management , this is a guest experience to be very proud of.
The deluxe room was nicer than some of the boutique / nouveau hotels I have stayed in Greenwich village NY and hands down beats some 5 star rooms in London at a fraction of the cost for the quality and standard of the decor, linen, bathroom etc.
It’s almost that good I don’t want to tell anyone!!! But as a business owner I tip my hat to the owner of this hotel / restaurant. Superb!!!

The perfect place to settle for a few days.
We stayed here as part of 40th Birthday celebrations delayed due to lockdown. From the moment of booking to the moment of checking out we had the best experience. The team members we encountered were all lovely & super friendly especially the front of house manager (we stayed the 26th & 27th June).
We stayed in room 5 which I think is classified as a superior room & it was a little piece of Pitlochry heaven. The room was a great size with a comfortable king size bed & a very generous bathroom with a rain shower & super sized bath which was a lifesaver after some Munro climbing.
The room has windows facing both the parking area but slanted so you only see rooftops & the beautiful sunsets. The other has views of a waterfall & stream with lots of lovely bird chatter to wake you & settle you to sleep.
The hotel was fully booked but we hears no noise from the other guests & none from the parking area.
We ate in the restaurant one of our nights with our parents & cannot fault the food. Always well executed. The eggs royale for breakfast & the squid evening starter were my highlights.
It wasn't our first stay & it won't be our last.

We had a lovely two nights here once we could travel after Lockdown.
Our superior room was large and very clean and comfortable , with a bathroom which included a large bath and separate shower..
Dinner was lovely , especially the sea bass special , and being able to sit outside in the heated tented area was a huge bonus for pre and post dinner drinks.
We did however feel the drinks were overpriced with a Bottle of Pinot Grigio costing £24.95 , which was of very poor quality.
Breakfast was also very good with a great choice and perfect poached egg options .
We used a 5pm voucher plus the room supplement to pay for this trip so was good value , however the room prices have fair increased and concern is that this nice well run hotel may loose some custom.
The staff are a huge asset to the smooth efficient running of this hotel and ensuring you have a great stay .
Pitlochry and The Old Mill Inn are well worth a visit .

Dear Bacardi56, Thank you very much for staying with us recently and for taking the time to add a review. It's lovely to know you enjoyed your post-lockdown break. Due to Covid-19 we extended the validity for voucher holders so they wouldn't lose out on their stays and as such your break was exceptional value for money at this time of year. These voucher deals are intended for use in the winter when our tariff is lower. We're very fortunate to have a loyal customer base who come and stay in the summer months and as you can see from our reviews, they believe we offer more than just a room for a night, its a whole experience. Best wishes, Team Old Mill Inn

Just returned from another wonderful stay at this Inn. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and work hard to ensure that their guests are happy! The rooms are spotlessly clean and well decorated and unusually have plenty of sockets! Lovely homemade Scottish shortbread added everyday to the tea and coffee making facilities - a nice extra touch! Also locally made toiletries provided in the bathroom so if you like them you can purchase your own from the shop on the Main Street!
We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner in this Inn and the food has always been excellent! The location is very central and there is a small car park behind the Inn. Great live music at weekends too! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Inn and look forward to returning!

We recently stayed for 3 nights and it was our first trip since the lock-down restrictions were lifted in Scotland.
The hotel has been professionally set up for social distancing. There is a one way system in operation, all tables are adequately spaced out and there are hand sanitising stations every few steps.
The food was absolutely first class. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel - all of which were excellent; beautifully presented and tasty.
The staff are all lovely and can't do enough to help.
Our only minor niggle is that our room (no. 14) was very warm and quite noisy due to its location. We were given fans, but they didn't make much difference. Next time I would ask for a different room.
Overall, a wonderful break and we would definitely return!

And we were there! My partner and I again enjoyed the welcoming hospitality of the Old Mill Inn. The Team are amazing; totally committed to creating an enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing environment for their guests.
Accommodation is outstanding, absolutely clean with all toiletries sourced from Highland Soaps, introducing the evocative scents of the Highlands and Islands.
Mealtimes are a joy. Choice foods are carefully prepared and presented by a chef who takes obvious pride in his creations.
With the current emphasis on health and safety during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Old Mill Inn staff were consistent in their approach to guest welfare. Steps were taken to ensure that facilities were opened in strict accordance with Scottish Government guidelines.
Pitlochry, even at the end of April when summer has yet to arrive, has plenty of places of interest to explore.
We look forward to our return.

Had a two night stay at this hotel, where we had previously dropped in for dinner and drinks, and we will definitely return.
Booked by phone and after that communication with the hotel was clear and regular.
Our room was on the top floor overlooking the beer garden and was spacious, clean and well equipped. The Prosecco was in the ice bucket with chocolates alongside as promised on the deal we booked under.
Check in was efficient and we were shown to our room by the receptionist with everything explained to us.
We ate at the hotel on our first night and the food was cooked fresh on ordering. We were served our meals in the time frame we expected and had no complaints at all about the quality or taste. The same could be said for the breakfasts. Great service and food.
In the present climate it was pleasing to see all staff members without exception wearing face coverings and the cleaning regime in the public areas were definitely being adhered to. We had drinks in the beer garden and the table service was excellent.
Parking is available behind the hotel with access from the High Street through what looks like a pedestrian area adjacent to Pringles shop. The car park itself is an adventure due to there being no markings and several buildings around the parking area, but our car was safe and covered by CCTV.
Overall a great little hotel and recommended.

We didn’t know what to expect with Old Mill Inn accommodation. We had eaten here a few times when passing through Pitlochry but we were so impressed by what lay behind those ancient walls when we checked in for our first overnight.
The bedrooms (We had Room 1 and Room 7) were so modern, comfortable and spotless. All mod cons even down to an integrated Bluetooth system that you could play music in bedroom and bathroom. Nice seating area to sit and relax (Which was good for an after 10pm curfew drink) We did pay for an upgrade on both rooms but I don’t think you would be disappointed with a standard room.
All staff so friendly and helpful nothing was a hassle. Breakfast was delicious and would highly recommend the French toast with bacon and maple syrup!!!
Evening meal was also delicious. We were slightly disappointed as didn’t realise Sunday Lunch wasn’t served all day (I suppose the clue is in the title) but our second choice was not a disappointment.
Will definitely be back!

It's casual, we just had on smart jeans as did most of the other people who were dining.
It's a Nespresso coffee machine and there is also a welcome tray with Nescafe sachets as well.
Hi Rosie,
We prominently (on every table) have QR codes for Track & Trace/ Test & Protect registration so I am confused as to why this wasn't noticed by you. It is siliconed down onto each table top and our team are all fully aware of how to operate it and give instructions if a customer doesn't know how to use QR codes. It is not mandatory for our diners to complete the Track & Trace/ Test & Protect information but it is for us to promote the use of it. The one way system is in place for our customers to use to avoid congestion in pinch point areas. Our team are fully aware of how to safely use the doorways based on our risk assessment in order to serve food & drink efficiently to our customers.
Thank you for your concerns, I hope that this has addressed them and that you enjoyed your drink when you were here.
Best wishes,
Team Old Mill Inn
Hi Optika, The Old Mill Inn serves food all day from 12pm until 9pm. From November to April the kitchen may be closed between 3-5pm so best to call ahead and check if that's when you plan to visit.
Hi Bernie M,
