Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful place with lovely staff who went over and above to make my stay a comfortable one. I had some issues with attending due to adverse weather and James could not have been more helpful. A stone throw from the town centre as well, highly recommend.

Beautiful property and our room was wonderful. James and Kirsty are excellent hosts. The breakfast was perfect with variety of choices, every day! James gave us great advice regarding local restaurants. He’s quite a character! The honor bar/lounge is a great concept. We would love to return someday and hope to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beinn Bhracaigh. Our hosts were warm, welcoming and very attentive. The accommodation was superb. Immaculate, very peaceful and relaxing with lovely views from the room. You were made to feel very much at home. The breakfast was delicious and good variety to choose from. Location was ideal for walking and exploring Pitlochry. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you James and Kirsty.

We received a warm welcome from James when we arrived. We had a lovely room with a fabulous view. There is also a lovely garden where you can sit and relax and enjoy the view. Alternatively there are a couple of nice areas in the house if the weather isn’t nice enough to sit outside. Both Kirsty and James were friendly and provided information and suggestions of places to go. Although coffee, tea etc was provided in the rooms, extras were left out in a communal area so you could help yourselves. There is plenty of room to park and it is a short walk into town. The only very minor pain was the fact that Wi-Fi was only available in one area of the house, however overall we really enjoyed our 11 night stay. Thanks to Kirsty and James for making us feel so welcome.

Definitely one of the best places & have ever stayed at - a king amongst B&B hotels! Excellent room with a great view over the town, very quiet indeed, well equipped and comfortable. Easy to find, just a few minutes walk into the town centre, off-street parking, an excellent 'honesty' bar, great welcome and superb breakfasts!!! Thank you James & Kirsty

We loved our 4 night stay here. Breakfast every day was very delicious and the honesty bar had some great whiskey's. We also liked the concept of the honesty bar. We were upgraded to room Spey, which was very spacious. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the room was very clean. The B&B lies on elevated terrain which makes for a great view. Pitlochry is a great little town with lots to do and nice walking opportunities nearby and we would definitely recommend this place if you're staying in Pitlochry. Many thanks to our hosts

After initially booking, I was a little worried about the number of rules sent through around covid. I for one, am keen to move away from them and live normally. In fact, I was so concerned that if I could have cancelled, I would have! I feared a restrictive, rule enforced environment which would ruin my holiday. However, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed and my fears disappeared. Kirsty welcomed us and showed us around and there were no restrictions mentioned. The lengths that she and James had gone to in order to accommodate my gluten and dairy issues was outstanding. I have never had a hotel go to so much trouble to provide gluten free cereal and dairy free options for breakfast. James and Kirsty have amazing attention to detail, everything you could think of has been thought of and provided. The house was outstandingly clean and well presented. The room and bed was comfortable and the views spectacular. If I were to provide just one down side, it would be the lack of WIFI in the bedrooms and throughout the house, especially as the mobile signal was very poor in the town too. This did cause a few problems, but nothing major. I would definitely recommend people to stay here, in fact I already have!

Response from James Watts, Owner at Beinn Bhracaigh
Responded 7 Aug 2023
Hi Markhartshorn, May thanks indeed for your kind review f such positive comments. Yes we do provide clients with as much information as possible about our property & the location, to ensure we manage expectations, from both sides. As you state we are always delighted to assist with dietary requirements, when provided with this information in advance. Yes the Wi-Fi is only located within the public space of our Honesty bar, being 150 year old property with walls a metre thick, this can be a challenge, which is why we state this on our property page as well as the follow up confirmation once a booking is made. We would love to see you both again - just be sure to book direct for the best rates. Kind regards James & Kirsty

Quiet location with spacious bright rooms. A nice view on the valley. We spent two nights in this house and enjoyed it. The village with restaurants and shops is about a ten minutes’ walk away. No problem if it is not pouring down! Parking in the village center is limited. We liked the bar at the house which works on a honesty principle. On the second day we had a flat tire and many difficulties to find a new tire and a garage to mount it. Without James’ help we would probably not have succeeded. Thank you James for your strong support!
