The majority of the staff here are excellent and really want to make your stay memorable. The building must have been impressive in Victorian days, but is now very shabby and in need of refurbishment. Paintwork peeling, and carpets fraying. We had a large room, with uncomfortable beds, but the staff were very helpful in sorting out duvets to put...

Lots of tartan all over the hotel. bedrooms nicely done in it, and quite quirky. Dining room was very large "baronial style", but dreary, and the breakfast was very poor.... Congealed egg and tough bacon. Staff were very nice, and the situation was good.

Returned for a second visit and again had the afternoon tea, homemaking was excellent. Again the staff very helpful and we were surprised when they remembered us from previous visit. It's such a good place to relax and chill and watch the world go by. A good base for exploring.

This hotel is ideally situated for those using public transport, being a stone's throw away from both the railway station and the stops for the M91 Edinburgh - Inverness bus and sparse local services. My room was cosy in the unseasonably cold late May weather and the spacious bathroom had a bath as well as a shower, but I'm not...

On first impression, I loved the cosiness ofthe bothie bar and the atmosphere was lovely. The place was busy... we got lucky with the beautiful sunny weather. The kids ran off to play in the beer garden and we ordered a combination of children's meals and main meals. The food was very bland, tasteless and generally poor quality. I love...

The Atholl Arms is a little like a dowager duchess - attractive from a distance, but when you get a bit closer, the wrinkles begin to show. The small number of staff who directly serve the guests, work hard at all of the multi-tasking that they have to do. They are welcoming, cheery and want to do their best to...

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this Hotel. The Hotel is Old and full of character. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We arrived on Sunday 19th May and had the Afternoon tea which was very good, we then ate in the Restuarant in the evening and this was the Only down side... The kitchen...

Stopped here for lunch in the Bothy bar today 22.5.13. Very pleasant friendly barman . good food with wide choice. Highlights were the Angus burger, the venison olives, vegetables served al dente and chips which were crispy outside and fluffy inside. The Victorian building and style of furnishing add interest and charm. Will be happy to come back.

We stayed one Saturday night at this hotel and enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming and the reception/lounge area was very comfortable and cosy with a roaring log fire. We booked a "Superior" room and it was a large room with room for the double bed, sofa and two comfy chairs. The view was...

We stayed for two nights in this hotel and at £83 per night thought it was very overpriced. It has clearly been quite grand in the past but has now crossed the line from faded grandeur into shabby. The public areas are OK but gloomy with threadbare carpet on the stairs and dusty bowls of old pot pourri. Our room...
