Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough.... myself and my friend booked a twin room to attend the theatre to see Sunshine on Leith. From the moment we arrived it was outstanding, our bags were locked away for safe keeping, our room was enormous. The facilities were great, a fridge, a wonderful bathroom, hot powerful shower. We sat chatting on the sofa by the window, the view was just beautiful. The staff, owners and not forgetting Phil the grouse made it a lovely break. The breakfast was super, a wonderful choice, and well presented. We will definitely be back, thank you for making our trip so pleasant. See you in 2024.

My wife and I and our two dogs stayed from 20th four nites in room 12. The room and setup were superb. We had beautiful bedroom, bathroom and lounge with doors on to courtyard. The bed is amazing (large). George was very accommodating and breakfast was very good and varied. I would strongly recommend for a base , location and top quality. I would go Back in heartbeat. Thank you

We stayed here for one night during a visit to Pitlochry to visit the Enchanted Forest. I booked a twin room for my sister and I and will say we were not disappointed. The room was very spacious with twin beds, a sofa overlooking the garden and beautiful view beyond. Very modern bathroom with hot water which was needed after walking round the forest. Also tv, iron and board, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water etc. Beds very comfortable also. There is a pre order form in your room for breakfast the next day which you leave on the desk once you have filled it in. Breakfast was amazing. Cereals, yogurts, toast, flapjacks, shortbread and also full cooked breakfast, omelettes, salmon and eggs to name a few things. Very tasty too. Ample parking provided to. Would defo stay here again if we venture to Pitlochry or nearby Dunkeld..thanks again

Recommended by son and I can understand why. Great rooms and breakfast, possibly only surpassed by the genuinely friendly service. Easy to find, good parking, but don’t forget that friendliness! Our son is due to return to the same room 3 days after us - says it all

We stayed two nights at the Claymore on our recent visit to Pitlochry. The staff we met were extremely helpful and nothing was too much of a problem for them. It is well situated on the village high street and offers easy access to all that Pitlochry has to offer. We plan to go back again to take in a few shows when the Pitlochry theatre reopens. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 2 night break in room 5, four poster bedroom, which was a surprise for my wife for her birthday. On arrival we received a friendly welcome, and were shown to our room. After messaging Gordon and his team prior to arrival, he had gone the extra mile to help me, and as we entered the room, a bottle of Prosecco was on ice, and a beautiful bunch of flowers were in a vase. The room itself was immaculate, and also stunning, with its lovely bed, bedding, and general lay out. The bathroom is also modern, and filled with some great toiletries. Two large windows also gave us lovely views across the hills. We had the added bonus of lovely blue skies and sunshine, which further enhanced the view. Everything you need is provided within the room, as stated upon booking. Breakfast is well organised, you tick every single item you want on a sheet, and hand the sheet in before you go to bed. The next day, whilst in the conservatory watching the wildlife, your cooked breakfast is served, and each item on your plate is locally sourced, and the dining experience definitely benefits from this. All the food is delicious. Don’t be shy with any extra requests, as Gordon’s team will do all they can to help, dietary requirements etc. Location is also a huge bonus, as you walk down the driveway, turn left, and Pitlochry Main Street is there!! Many thanks to all the team, we will be back, as you have set a standard others may not match…

We have stayed at the Ckaymore in the past and it keeps getting better and better. We stayed in one of the new rooms and everything was perfectly thought out. Love it. The room had everything we could want including outlets near each side of the bed, a refrigerator, a well stocked tea maker and a comfortable bed and a great shower. Will definitely return.
