Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a afternoon tea voucher that we got at Christmas used on Thursday 22 feb in general the sandwiches and cakes looked and tasted fine but the scones that we were given were blue moulded we informed staff who were very apologetic and offered to change it but we were put off our tea and did not finish it and left we noticed the same thing happened with another couple and they returned their scones. We have used the rad group on numerous occasions and different hotels staying and afternoon teas but we won't be going back to the Fairfield hotel as it spoiled our day.

This is the 3rd time staying at this hotel. The rooms are great and the staff are so helpful and polite. We also eat in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast when we stay and it’s all been fantastic and helpful staff to help me with my dietary concerns. The only negative I have is the spa, it’s really outdated and very small but I heard they are going to be refurbishing it soon which would be amazing! Location location location is the reason we keep coming back! Nothing like a walk along the beach in the winter all wrapped up and the views are just gorgeous.

My 3rd visit. Lovely room number14. Only small complaint was-- pillows are old and lumpy. Everything else about room was excellent. Pool lovely but jacuzzi not working. Breakfast superb. Didn't have dinner as last time I stayed it was awful.

We had a fantastic stay here, just left and felt I had to leave this review. The staff are brilliant nothing too much trouble. The family room we had was big and spacious the bathroom was huge! Everything was clean and that’s all you are looking for when it’s a base for outdoor exploring! The kids loved the swimming pool. We stayed on a DBB deal the food was excellent! Only downside was the dessert, warm brownie sundae was basically a bowl of cream sprinkled with brownie crumbs definitely not worth the £7.50 price. It didn’t take away from our star though. The location is perfect right on the green at the beach, close to the big play park. Would definitely recommend.

We had lunch compliments of a voucher received at Christmas. The restaurant although dated, offers a fantastic view across the seafront. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Sad to say the food was inedible. The bang bang cauliflower had been frozen and suffered burning when reheated giving it a bitter flavour. Raw red chillies through the salad were an unwelcome surprise. The vegetable lasagne, again tasted like it had been frozen and reheated causing the pasta to become tough and unpalatable, the vegetables were mushy and the added sauce watery. All in all the food was very poor as it all tasted pre-frozen. I have eaten at another of RAD Hotel's premises and had similarly bad food. Perhaps they should give some thought to using fresh ingredients cooked to order rather than buying in mass frozen meals.

What a lovely, laid back 4 star hotel. Rooms were great with beautiful big bathroom. Food was amazing on both nights, as was breakfast. We got a fantastic deal DBB booking with the hotel. Only gripe was that some of the waiting staff need additional training.

We had a fantastic stay at the Fairfield! The room was exceptional with the most amazing view of the sea, green and Arran. The room was incredibly spacious, the bed so comfortably big and the bathroom was great. The shower was so good, I found it difficult to get off! I could have stayed there all day. An added bonus was the jacuzzi bath and a great way to relax after some long walks. The room was a bit frayed in the edges but feels homely rather than too clinical. The staff were excellent at breakfast and evening bar. We didn’t use the gym or pool but could see it from our room. Overall, a great hotel to relax, especially after a wedding weekend at the Lochside Spa hotel. The staff there were excellent as well, so the hotel chain has got customer service perfectly.

Went for New Year’s Day dinner in a party of four , one of party was coeliac and vegetarian , the gluten free men was a non starter , gluten free member had first course of four button mushrooms and a garlic sauce , the main course massive choice of penne pasta and vegetable chilli and noodles ( noodles ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE ) so that was a no no they then came with a vegetable tempura wow ! Where was the batter not there ! Disgusting ! They said what about a chilli stir fry what appeared on the table looked more like a vegetable soup the vegetables were swimming in oil , so we gave up the rest of the party had steak pie which was not impressive at all , it consisted of two roast potatoes a portion on mash potato , two carrot baton all very small amounts and a piece of steak pie with four small pieces of steak and a bit of pastry. In my opinion all they was is to charge you the earth for not a lot in return, Thr RAD GROUP HAS HAD ALL THE MONEY THEY ARE GETTING FROM ME ! Never again will I stay or eat at any of the RAD hotels again , I have previously stayed at Heatland hall and it was absolutely fabulous but after this experience at Fairfield hotel no more RAD hotels .

Went with a friend for afternoon tea and it was just perfect. The hotel is beautiful with stunning views, the staff were friendly and helpful. Afternoon tea was beautifully presented. No choice was given for sandwich flavour but luckily we both liked the ones given (egg mayo, coronation chicken, salmon with cream cheese and turkey). We were also given little china cups of the most delicious potato and leek soup, pork pies, selection of cakes and scones with tea or coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I have booked an overnight stay for myself and my husband for our anniversary and look forward to seeing the rest of the hotel, our room and trying out the leisure facilities.
