My partner and I traveled to Scotland to visit family, we booked into the Ayr travelodge for 6 nights originally but decided to add an extra night last minute(the night before we should have checked out) and the gentleman on reception was amazingly accommodating and managed to work it so we had the exact same room that last night, we didn't have to pack up our stuff and move to another room. We always book the Ayr Travelodge when we go visit family there. The bed is always comfortable, room always clean. Though due to the Covid-19 pandemic they aren't cleaning rooms everyday of your stay but the people on reception are always there of you need anything, fresh towels, milk, teabags, sugar.

Spent a couple of days here to get the kids away on some sort of break before school returns. Good value for a family room, £70-odd for two nights. Tim Horton’s next door for breakfast, looks like Frankie and Bennies won’t be reopening since lockdown. Retail park is a 10
minute walk for snacks/dinner/shopping. Good location for Heads of Ayr, Culzean and Ayr beach which is what we did for our two days. Given the coronavirus situation, hotel felt fresh and clean, plenty hand sanitisers, so it felt like the company had really put the effort in. Was delighted to get a bath as well as a shower in the room, but as with most Travelodges, power sockets are never where you need them...minor irritation. We could hear the folk upstairs walking about, which made us worry for the folk underneath us as our wee ones do tend to be a bit heavier on their feet, despite us trying to keep the excitement to a minimum, but hopefully there were no complaints.

I stayed at the Ayr Travelodge on the 2nd of November to the 3rd of November due to being on campus down in Ayr for 2 days, to save me travelling up and down from Perth I booked this to save travel worries. What a great stay it was, Helen on reception could not have been any nicer and kind to me, telling me help was available 24 hours and she made me feel so welcomed. Top class lady!! Beds were so comfy, plenty of refreshments in my room, no noise outside my room or on the entire floor. It was a very chilled stay and I will be back at the first chance!! Thank you!! :)

Checked into to our room, our room wasn’t even clean or set up so we then had to go back down stairs and ask the receptionist for another room. The receptionist didn’t seem too bothered that the room she had given us was all dirty and not made. She then gave us another room, went up and it was made up but not very clean. I also had to ask was the “breakfast boxes” gluten free and she didn’t know so she called someone and asked. The fact that there was no option for even gluten free and when booking the room online there wasn’t even a section that you could request gluten free and I had been charged for the breakfasts. The next morning we got woken up early by shouting from the housekeeping and overall not the best hotel, very dirty inside and will not be coming back.

The hotel was not cleaned to a high standard having found used false nails on the floor . Hand prints on the mirrors and walls . The bathroom floor was filthy . There was dust all over the lights and fittings. We were only given two towels for 4 people and had to ask for more twice . We had to ask for plates and forks to eat our takeaway dinner from and we were given one dinner plate, one saucer , one plastic plate and one side plate and 4 different forks that were not from a set . The mugs in the room had stains in two of them and the breakfast box that was supplied was very poor for the price of it . In any circumstance it was below par but in the current circumstances we are in we hoped the cleanliness of the place would be above average and it certainly was not . Luckily I took my own cleaning stuff with me and had to give the room and bathroom a clean before we could unpack. I spoke to a staff member who told me they were finishing their shift and they would pass it on but never heard from anyone else.

We're all having to get used to socialising and travelling again; this was our first trip since lockdown. Looks as if Travelodge has followed guidelines and done everything to deep clean properties before opening up again. There is minimal contact with staff now, plenty of hand sanitiser in place and social distancing signs throughout. No problems and everything went as expected. The onsite Frankie & Benny's has closed down and that area now looks a bit derelict, the next door Bannatyne's is still closed too so the surroundings aren't great at the moment. There's a little Tim Horton's though and breakfast there was fine, various other chip shop, Chinese, McDonald's and Tesco close by too.

This hotel is in a great location just off the A77; the rooms are quiet, beds very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. A Tim Hortons takeaway is adjacent to the entrance for breakfast. Covid 19 precautions are in place and were effective.

Stayed at this Travelodge for the first time last weekend and had a really nice time. Our room was very clean and spacious and had a comfortable, king sized bed. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower in it and there was a grab rail on the wall that was very helpful when getting in and out of the bath. I wish other hotels would adopt this idea and fit these rails in their own bathrooms!

Next to this Travelodge is a Gro restaurant and a Tim Horton’s that we used for breakfast. There is also a Bannantyne’s gym for the keep fit enthusiast. The slight downside is you that have to rely on a bus or taxi to get into Ayr or Prestwick.

Any staff we met were very helpful which was good to see. Car parking was right in front of the Hotel and had plenty of spaces. We will have no hesitation in using this Travelodge again when visiting the area.

Easy to book. A good price and the facility to cancel up to midday on arrival date for a few pounds more is useful in these times. Staff always helpful and friendly. Room as expected . Parking never a problem.

Thank you Travelodge for a wonderful 3 night stay in Rooms 217 & 219. Great sized rooms with sea views and good location for beach, shops and road network. Fab to find somewhere that is dog friendly and cost just £20 for 3 nights (sorry we left some sand in the room) as our dog couldnt get enough of the beautiful beaches in Ayr, Prestwick and Troon. Great that Takeaways can be delivered to the hotel and Asda close by. The staff were very helpful and made us all feel very safe during such uncertain times.
