Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Poor service. My husband and I arrived on a Monday afternoon as my husband had a hospital appointment the next day. When we checked in we were told there would be no food available (but we were welcome to order in from Dominos Pizza , fish n chip shop or a Chinese) ! until Thursday night....I was leaving that morning! At least the room, bed and bathroom were all clean. However as we didn't know the area at all, we had no idea how far away these eateries were , and if we'd be charged quite a bit extra for delivery. Again, not knowing the area we had no clue about going out to get anything to eat and as my husband was there to go to hospital the next day for a hip replacement (and in quite a bit of pain due to a 3 hour train journey as well to get here) we ended up just making a cup of tea in the room and having a biscuit each. Left early the next morning for hospital where I managed to get some breakfast once I saw him settled onto the ward. I then ate 2 more dinners and a breakfast there, only returning to the hotel for my bed! Each time I returned and left the ( which was neither particularly early or late each day) I saw no one....neither staff or any other guest(s) and so felt very much on my own. (Marie Celeste comes to mind...) On the morning I left there was 1 person on reception, along with 2 workmen who were much more interested in their own conversation than whether or not my stay had been alright! It was a very strange feeling and not my best hotel experience.

Arrived to check in after 3pm to a nice welcome from a lady in reception who gave us our room key and directed us to our room, lovley hotel entrance inside with a nice staircase and nice function rooms. We arrived into our bedroom and were amazed at the size of the room and the bathroom is such a brilliant size and shower is a brilliant size and the massive window we had with a brilliant view especially for two airplane spotting people that we are ( we watched the planes all night which we love) the hotel staff have been so lovley since we arrived. The man came and fixed our TV remote for us and they were very apologetic but they didn't have to be. We've read so many bad reviews on this place but honestly we have had nothing to complain about since arriving. We love our room . The staff are lovley and we will most definitely be back and asking for the same room. For a 2 star hotel its pretty decent and very cute to stay in we love this place and its our first visit Thank you all staff!!!

rude staff including owner at family wake. paid for bar to be open- told we had to wait until after food and drink served (for health and safety). when asked if they could open it anyway, got told no as it was in the t and c's. considering it was a wake, found them to be very unhelpful

Poor standard throughout the place, ignoring staff - Stephen you need customer service training on how to speak with people. I will never be back. Food was the worst ever. When we complained Stephen’s attitude was terrible, raising his eyes to the ceiling.

Stephen the manager is an ignorant man. Stay well clear of this place. Food is terrible and the manager doesn’t care. His attitude is appalling. Then he jumping into his BMW parked in the disabled bay!

This hotel is a dump, food is terrible and the rooms are so small you have to squeeze round the bed to get in and trying to check-in was ridiculous as there were no staff about and we waited 20 before anyone arrived and if we had known what it was like we would have turned round and left.

Had a meal in the lounge bar. Despite it being almost empty, the waitress "forgot" to come back for our order. One of the starters and two of the mains left a lot to be desired. The fish was bland and tasteless. Appeared as if it had been frozen but they claimed it was fresh. When you cut into the macaroni it became an oily gooy mess. They blamed the cheese used!!!Not touched but no offer of a replacement dish. Only offered a sweet when complained about the mains. Had to ask for drinks. Very dissapointed as we have used the hotel many times. Only saving grace was Charlie in the bar, who was friendly and approachable. Hopefully it was an off night for the hotel but it is unlikely we will return to find out.
