Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4 with a dog. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are very basic and could do with a serious update. The breakfast was good, and we were able to order from just eat and eat in the bar of an evening. Overall it was a good stop on the way to the highlands but I felt that it was still quite expensive for what it was.

Booked 3 rooms which were clean and not a bad size. Due to the warm weather you needed a window open, it was OK at the back of the hotel but friends neer the front couldn because of the constant traffic.
The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. A nice size car park.
We caught the bus into Glasgow which was easy as the stops are right next to the hotel.

Thought I MUST right a review regarding The Milton Inn where my partner, myself and our two dogs have stayed MANY times (at very short notice also) allow us to check-in when we arrive regardless of time, food is excellent, catering for me my dogs and partner who are all fussy eaters is no mean feet let me tell you!! Breakfast is always superb setting you up for the day for sure! Liz who makes your breakfast 95% of the time should get a promotion for loyalty, excellent service and working over and above her call of duty on several occasions.
We are always booked into the cottage to the side of the INN (note it's The Milton Inn those complaining about it being or not an B&B) we have NEVER had a problem with rooms in anyway if you consider, I am disabled, need to be close to amenities etc admittedly its a bit road noisy BUT it's convieniently bang smack on the A82 (can't have it both ways) if you want it stone dead quiet then don't pick an Inn with a pub and on a major arterial road ?? Thought that would be common sense really!!
Really can't praise Helen, Jim & his daughter Liz and the other cooking/cleaning staff we have always wanted to come back, finding somewhere that will take a disabled traveller with two dogs is NOT easy anywhere let alone almost in The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park , we have also NEVER felt were being treated any differently in regards to our dogs than we would if we did not have them, impressive in this day and age.
We have always parked our car round the back, which means you can always see it, out the bedroom windows or bathroom in some units, happy to see they have now started the revamping of all rooms in the cottage anyway supplying an excemplary offering for the money folks which is what it boils down to, at the end of the day, IF you wish waited on hand and foot, and your meals at three times the price for the self same food, then go to Cameron House but don't moan about an excellent service offering as its really not fare.

Regards to all the staff Dougie Yvonne McPherson-Hamill and Georgie & Mollie our Cavaliers from Fort William Highland Scotland - hope to see you again real soon if my health picks up a little, winter is never really good for me

And Ps Lonebusinessman who in this day and age does not have a mobile phone? I doubt if many hotels now have working phones in their rooms, a storm in a teacup what you've complained about by in large is trivial, if you as you claim you do travel often you would know this !!

This was Faulty Towers Bollywood style. When we arrived the premises were locked, a woman who did not understand what we were there for appeared and called someone who showed up 20 minutes later, by this time 2 female European tourists had also arrived to book in. The 4 of us were taken to a side entrance and taken to a lobby area at the top of the stairs, after listening to a protracted speech about why the place was locked, we were given a set of keys to room 15, then 5 minutes later had them taken from us and were replace by room 10. We asked if the restaurant or bar were open and told no, this was despite the website and a large sign outside the hotel stating that they were. When we finally got into the room it was cold so we tried to get heat into the radiator to no avail, we then tried the wash hand basin and shower which also ran cold. My partner called the hotel phone number to report the issues with the heating and hot water, to be told that all the other rooms had heat and hot water. When she pointed out that ours didn't, she was met with a could not care less attitude, at that point we decided we were not staying a moment longer. There were one or two other less important problems, like there only being one saucer, one biscuit and stained bed linen.

Booked in for a buisness trip, had a quick shower, which was a dribble at best and the shower curtain fell down (wind out cheepo type) and headed out for dinner.

Came back and went to get I to bed to be greeted by a millipede and on further inspection found red and brown stains on the bed, along with a selection of hairs, non of which belonged to me!

At this point I also noticed the smoke detector was missing and had mains cabling hanging down along with the light cover, whatever shelf that was in the bathroom had been snapped off aswell.

There is no one on site to deal with issues so dialed the number, took a few attempts before someone picked up and said nothing could be sone and to sort it in the morning! Called back after she hung up on me a few times to no avail.

As I was leaving the owner turned up and accused me of all sorts, ie, ripping down the shower curtain, yes the £1 adjustable tube that falls down with every use, and b leading in the bed that I must have slept in despite only bei g in the room for 25 mins in total!

He then began to get very confrontational and with that I left.

Ps, mattress was also knackered, general standard of decor is low and the carpets are sticky.

The best way I can describe this hotel is a social club, on a main road, that has had no money spent on it this melenium!

Worst stay ever, room was filthy and duvet was damp . Changed room to a slightly cleaner room . The television was not working and there was paper towels jammed in the window to stop drafts
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If it was not for the fact that Glasgow was full with COP26 I would have stayed somewhere else

Never again! It is like something from a horror movie, filth.
We left after 1/2 an hour.
Don't consider this place.
I wouldn't let a dog stay in this absolute nightmare of a place, the best I can say is the road out is amazing.

We booked this 'hotel' as a base for a trip to River City studios in Dumbarton due to the lack of available hotels at the time of booking...Oh what a BAD decision it turned out to be! We arrived to what essentially is a pub and were greeted quite warmly by bar maid who told us we had to pay for 2 nights in advance, which we did and then were asked approximately what time we'd be for breakfast! Next an older 'gentleman' who was fixing a table in the bar 'prior to the karaoke' said he would show us to our room. This turned out to be a room in the Farmhouse Room building, where, as it turned out, the owner (Older gentleman) opened the door, threw the key on the bed and said ' here's your room and you may want to move your car from the car park to outside your room so you can keep an eye on it 'and walked out! Alarm bells rang!
The room was a tiny space, which included litter under towels on bed, a patched up PVC window which let in plenty of noise and draught from the A82, a noisy macerator in the toilet, a tiny TV, with no instructions for use, tea and coffee but no biscuits! No Wi-Fi in room only in pub!
We decided to have a meal and drink in the pub in the evening, which was ok and the staff were very pleasant.
The following morning we were greeted in the pub by noisy kitchen staff and waitresses shouting and laughing, with the kitchen door wide open for all to hear. The buffet breakfast cereal and cooked breakfast was adequate but not very relaxing, hence why we didn't take up the option the next morning!
For the money we can see why people have given this place a decent review score but essentially it is a pub 'playing' at being a B&B and we definitely will not be going back!

MILTON INN - never again. Worst food and service I've ever suffered in my entire life! We've just come back after visiting the Milton Inn for a nice easter lunch. They do a lunchtime menu where the meals are £5 so I just chose the fish and chips from that. When it came I took one bite and almost choked on the amount of huge, hard bones in it. Seriously, never had fish like that, EVER. I had to spit it out. The waitress came and took it back to the chef. A minute later she came back: "The chef says it's because it's from the cheap menu." !!!! So I replied with something like, "I'd expect it to at least be edible." So she took it back again and we could hear the chef shouting in outrage at the fact I hadn't just forced myself to eat it. The girl - whose face was tripping her the entire time we were there - brought it back to me AGAIN! I told her I didn't want it and didn't want anything because I knew they'd just spit in it or something (I didn't say that, but that was my reasoning).
So I had to sit there with nothing while everyone else ate theirs.
The waitress never once apologised - in fact, she stood at the bar telling her pal all about it, every so often sniggering. The place was quiet (no surprise!) so we could hear her talking about us, it was really quite a bizarre experience.
Honestly, I've never known anything like it. I can only assume the place is shutting down so the staff just don't care about complaints or customers returning.

There is no lift but you can access your room by a side entrance which will lead you directly to your room. it is handy as it is opposite the hotel car park. Masalla Twist is close by and is excellent ( If you like Indian food).
