This was a mid way stop for us on our weekend travels, The hotel was easy to get to and there were plenty of parking spaces when we were there, I have to say the area it was set in did look a bit run down and by its best, but I wasn't staying out side so it wasn't a problem for us, Reception staff were very nice and helpful. The room we had was on the back of the lodge with a railway close by and again this wasn't a problem for us and only herd the very odd train passing when the tv or radio was off. Starbucks is right outside the front door but if your looking for more than coffee then its into town I'm afraid, 25 minutes walking (which we did) or about 8 minutes by car. Plenty of eating places in town Centre. The room we had was the cleanest Travelodge room we have ever stayed in over the last 20 or so years, and it had a fully working flat screen tv with a working remote and fantastic picture ( Travelodge Customers will get this) The room was well lit and very warm when we arrived witch was very nice as it was so cold outside, Bathroom was like new, clean and fresh and no leaking toilet (A rare find) The shower was just great !!! The room we had was just what we would look for in a room, Clean and warm and a nice bathroom. Our say was very nice and if we were in that area again would like to stay at Dumbarton Travelodge.

The staff were amazing, really helpful in assisting with local places to eat etc and everything was as spotless as they could get it. it’s a shame that the hotel was getting run down - carpet faded in spots all over and sun bleached, flooring coming away in bathroom, tiles with lots of filler in, bath turning a funny colour etc. travelodge are just getting worse in the state of their rooms and only stayed here due to convenient location otherwise would not have chosen

We used the Travelodge just to sleep as family were staying nearby. The facilities are very basic, the carpets are well past their best, faded and grubby. We were checked in and welcomed by Steve who was warm and friendly. The bed was comfortable but there are no pillow protectors on the pillows which are of very poor quality. The bath is very small, impossible for an adult to get wet above the waist, we couldn’t access the free 30 mins wifi. Coffee was truly awful, advise bringing your own. The difference between Travelodge and Premier Inn is vey noticeable and prices similar.

Dear Customer services
On 1st April 2023 room allocation was room 7:
when I made the booking at Travelodge which I made online, I rang immediately after booking and explained I have a 12 week old baby and they said I could have a cot free of charge.
I arrive to find an extra single bed in the room.
In the UK a cot is a safe bed for a young infant NOT a single bed despite this is the word used by Americans. Travelodge though was not in the USA but in Scotland!
The staff were also told prior to my arrival I had a small baby!
Someone needs to deal with this so it does not happen to others!

5th April 2023 - also Dumbarton, room allocation was room 6:
Again asked prior to arrival ( at time of booking I rang to check) for a cot for my baby and again got a single bed.
However even worse!!! - the floor of the room had stains from dog mess scattered all over it. The floor was filthy. The room had fleas - my partner had a bath and washed a flea off himself. My own dogs have Advocate every month so do not have fleas. Surely before letting out a room you could arrange to get them flea sprayed before subjecting customers to this awful environment. You charge £20 a night per pet, but this should surely mean the rooms should be clean and free from pests? Even my dogs did not like to sleep in that room. They are used to a clean environment.
This was a disgusting room to have to stay in with a 12 week old baby!

Cosy rural hotel, similar to the motorway services style, perfectly situated for Dumbarton, Loch Lomond or Glasgow. Particularly ideal if you are driving, but the hotel is well served by the frequent Glasgow to Balloch (Loch Lomond) First Bus service which runs from early to late, seven days a week. If travelling towards Glasgow, you will need to double back in order to use the crossing for the bus stop on the other side of the constantly busy main road. Dumbarton East train station is just over a mile away, but can be walked via the pavement alongside the busy main road. There are no restaurant facilities in the hotel, but a breakfast box service is available at reception. There is a Morrisons in Dumbarton with full breakfast (meat, vegetarian or vegan) from 8am. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel car park which opens from 7am. Staff are friendly and always happy to help with enquiries, recommendations etc. Rooms are basic, but clean and spacious. There is a railway line at the rear and trains pass frequently, but services stop between approximately 11pm and 6pm. I was never kept awake by the noise. Views from the rear-facing rooms are spectacular.

Stopped here for one night to explore nearby Loch Lomond. It is in a very convenient location and we found it to be cheaper than most other local hotels. Staff very friendly, check-in quick and efficient. The hotel is looking a little tired and could do with some cosmetic work to update it but we could not complain for the price we paid. Room was very clean and covid precautions have been taken throughout the hotel. Overall would recommend this hotel for a stop-off or as a base for a few days of hiking in the local scenery.

I always choose Travelodge for my business stays as I know I will get uniformity of standard, and can arrive at any time. This can be very handy as I am a pet transporter and circumstances of a long trip can mean a delayed arrival. This particular Travelodge is well-placed on the outskirts of the town, with a garage and carwash, plus a Starbucks right there, for breakfast on departure. It is quiet and clean. This was my second visit in a month.

I have been staying in Travelodge Dumbarton on a few occasions recently in January and February 2023 and would highly recommend for business or leisure.

I don’t often leave reviews but on my last stay on this occasion I feel I must as the customer service I have received has been above and beyond, after checking in after a very long journey I was greeted at the reception by a lady she was very friendly and helpful with regards to car parking and local attractions in the area! After checking in I asked if I could have an ironing board and iron delivered to my room and within minutes it was personally delivered to my room. The rooms are large bright and very clean!

Many thanks again to the friendly staff working there you are an asset to the company, keep up the good work.

James

Had a 4 night stay. Staff great, very welcoming and approachable. Shame I had someone who sounded like they were doing jumping jacks in their room above me for the whole stay (which is saying something as i always use earplugs knowing that Soundproofing is never great at any of these places). Bed was very comfy and the room spacious and clean. In stripping my bed (as I always do before checking out as it seems like the decent thing to do to help out on the room turnaround) I noticed my duvet was stained in blood and other “secretions”…never what you want to find especially not when you’ve slept under it for 4 nights. The most annoying thing was that the TV would only get a signal for 3 channels and when I reported it I was told they knew about it (and that other rooms were affected) but that the manager had chosen not to do anything about it and seemed to be waiting for enough complaints to be made. I was offered a room swap if and when there was a free room, only they were fully booked at the time so I’d have to check each day. I didn’t have time for that as I had day trips planned. I don’t go away to watch TV but some offer of a complimentary breakfast or something at least would have gone some way to easing the annoyance. I suppose you get what you pay for, but with prices rising it’s becoming increasingly appealing to pay extra to stay somewhere a little more customer focussed

The hotel was very quiet, especially given the close proximity to the road. We couldn't hear traffic and noise from other guests was minimal. The reception staff were welcoming and very helpful and although the room could have done with the scuffs on the walls and skirtingboards painting over, it was generally clean, tidy. Although the hotel was not well sign posted, the free parking was gratefully received and is right outside the hotel. There's adequate space in the rooms to store belongings and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've slept in. Didn't like the non-slip bath mat (I don't find them hygienic) and the back of the telly hadn't been dusted in MONTHS but over all the room was clean, well ventilated and we would gladly stay again. A bonus was the petrol station, restraunt and starbucks all outside the hotel for convenience.

What do you get for breakfast? Is it suitable for a vegetarian? Thank you

Travelodges do not have provide meals or a restaurant. They are simply a double bedroom with excellent bathroom facilities a TV, internet and include tea and coffee making facilities. The reception has spare coffee. tea & milk capsules plus a vending machine for snacks. Most lodges have a café near by but check for ipening times as not open 24 hours. Hope this assists.

Hi, both options are easy to access from here. We have a train station a mile away with trains running to Glasgow every 20 minutes and a bus stop opposite the Hotel with buses running to Glasgow every 30 minutes. Thanks
