This B&B is great. Our room was not only spotlessly clean but thoughtfully appointed-our bed linens were beautiful and the room felt well cared for. We stayed in a room at the front of the house with a seating area looking out over the lough which was a real treat. I cannot fault our stay on any level, Noreen was... More

For my second visit to Donegal, with my husband along this time, I wrote to Noreen to ask about availability and received an immediate and enthusiastic reply. She remembered me from a visit three years ago with my cousins and welcomed a return stay. As before, we arrived and were greeted warmly at the front door and were given our... More

The outlook from the Arches is spectacular -simply breath-taking. Even though you have to drive into Donegal town it's not a big hassle once you've done it once and it's nice to have the tranquility of this location. Inside the house lives up to expectation with lovely rooms, great hospitality and a yummy breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there... More

The Arches offered everything we hoped (friendly host, great location and beautiful interior/exterior) for in a B&B. The inside was new and immaculate...just take a look at the shine of the floor in the breakfast/dining room and you'll see what I mean. It is a quick drive into Donegal town but is in such a beautiful, tranquil area on Lough... More

This B&B is hidden off of a winding road overlooking Lough Eske, but the drive is worth it to discover this gem. Noreen is friendly, no-nonsense and a friendly, but unassuming host aimed at making your stay perfect and unforgettable. The rooms were lovely, large and inviting, as were the bathrooms. We had a few teenagers in our group and... More

The Arches is a wonderful place to stay - beautifully presented, extremely clean, quiet, magnificent view, manicured garden and a wonderful host. The breakfast was great - especially the omelette. Only 10 minutes from Donegal town. Will certainly stay there again if I ever manage to get back to Ireland (from Austalia).

We have been going back to Noreen at the Arches for 19 years now and cannot recommend it highly enough. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless, breakfasts excellent and the whole house welcoming. There are wonderful views of Lough Eske and beyond from every room and it is a good base for touring Donegal and the North West. You will... More
