Stayed here for one night. Beautiful hotel. Not lavish but contemporary with a classic touch. The staff were fantastic catering to my every request including James who had a welcoming smile plus full of information about where to eat out and what local events were on. The room was beautiful and spacious with a small balcony overlooking the city. Extremely...

Thanks for reviewing you recent stay at The Clarence. It's always a pleasure to know a guest has enjoyed their stay with us and both in terms of the hospitality of team members here and your enjoyment of your room. Your feedback about the lift is noted and we hope that this won't deter you from returning to The Clarence...

The room was large and beautiful - a combination of old wood doors, hardwood floors mixed with all the modern touches such as lighting, towel warmer in the bathroom, and a wonderful comfortable bed with great linens. Also a large built in armoire type closet with plenty of shelving and drawers. Comfortable leather chair by the TV, desk and table...

Perfectly adequate rooms, very small - but you expect that for places like Dublin. Stuffy with the heating on, the room we had was at the back and looked out over the utility void, so nothing pleasant there. The rooms were dated, bathroom could do with updating and everything just looked a bit tired. Staff were pleasant and the location...

We stayed two nights. the staff couldnt do enough for you and so central - just round the corner from all the night life of temple bar and only 10 minute walk from the shops. Great bar and lovely breakfast. would definately stay again and recommend to anyone

The staff are really helpful and welcoming. The hotel is clean and warm and a pleasure to stay in. We have been here many times for long and short stays and it is always top class. There is a top class restaurant on the premises and a lovely study for relaxing on with a drink or food from the bar...

Perfect location and very friendly and service minded people. Breakfast was not up to expectation and price, food in restaurant not top class and coffee always cold. Hotel is beginning to get shabby. Was much better on our last visit.

It's great to read you enjoyed our friendly service during your recent stay at The Clarence. I will ensure your comments regarding breakfast are passed on the Cleaver East. It's disappointing to read you believe the hotel is beginning to get shabby. While it is 20 years since the last major refurbishment continual attention and care is given to the...

Good hotel, great location, beautiful breakfast fare and rooms with possibly the most comfortable beds in Dublin. The lack of parking is a negative as the nearest park is 8 minutes walk from the hotel in a public car park. There also seems to be a real lack of staff which is a shame in what could and should be a top...

It's a pity to read that the lack of on site parking proved to be a negative factor when you recently stayed at The Clarence. We offer valet parking so that even though our parking is offsite, the impact is negligible. Your feedback relating to your dissatisfaction with the catering in the meeting rooms has been passed to the management...

I checked into the Clarence on 11/22 for 6 nights as a solo traveler to see my favorite band, U2. Staying at this hotel was a part of a bucket list trip for me after beating cancer. I was a little hesitant about after reading some of the reviews. The staff were so friendly and helpful. .I stayed 3 nights...

The Clarence is in a great location in Temble Bar but just seems to be missing the attention to detail that would make this a great hotel. We stayed in December 2015 over the weekend. The check-in experience was good and we enjoyed the quality feel of the hotel (quality fittings etc.). However, once we got to our room, there...

Stayed at the Clarence for a couple of nights. The room was pretty good, a bit overheated and there seemed to be no way to turn it down. There was a chiller machine but it switched itself of all the time, and as there were no instructions it was impossible to get it working. We had a message from my...

It's a pity to read you did not find the room as comfortable as you would have liked during your recent stay at The Clarence. We do not sell champagne by the glass due to the rare occasion we are asked for it, which would result in considerable waste however we sell Prosecco by the glass. I'm surprised to hear...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Clarence boasts fifty bedrooms and suites, along with our world famous Penthouse Suite. Our rooms range from Classic through Deluxe and on to our River View and Garden Terrace Suites. Our furnishings are simple: classic Shaker oak, beds dressed in cool white linen, sitting elegantly in contrast to a palate of vibrant cardinal colours, rich drapes and luxe carpets. We aim to provide all the simple needs of our guests and we offer 'round the clock room service and all rooms have complimentary WiFi as standard. Our city centre location means car space is at a premium, but we do have a small underground car park that can be reserved for a small nightly supplement. It is also worth noting that our location does mean that the area can be lively at night, especially at the weekends and while we have taken every effort to reduce noise, it is not possible to block it all out. Please do consider this before booking. Within the hotel complex there are many drinking and dining experiences, from the chilled out bliss of The Study to the super stylish Octagon Bar, the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or a laid back nightcap. We also have Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne's Cleaver East restaurant within our walls and we are very proud that Oliver and his team provide all catering at the hotel, so whether it's a late night bite in your room or a Full Irish breakfast the next morning, you know your food will be of the highest standard, made from the freshest produce, closely cared for by Michelin starred hands. In the bowels of our building you will find the luxurious cocktail and food bar The Liquor Rooms, home to Dublin's arts set and the first ROI bar ever to be nominated in the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. On our first floor, overlooking the River Liffey lies The Cleaver East Suite at The Clarence, which can be reserved for special occasions, from large weddings to intimate business meetings. ... more   less
