nice is a good word to describe this hotel. It is clean and efficient with friendly staff. It's a pity we had to wait so long for our food to arrive but it was very enjoyable when it did. Placed in a very good location...More
We stayed here as a family for a 3 night stay. The rooms were clean and were roomy for the four of us. Service was good and my daughters liked the two twin beds but our double bed was very hard. Also the TV stations...More
A great hotel in a great location. If you are coming from the airport on the coach, it stops about 2 minutes walk away from the hotel. Its location just off the top end of O'Connell St and is perfect for all the bars and...More
Stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend and had a fantastic stay. The room was a good size, lovely big bed, big bathroom, big wardrobe, iron, ironing board, big extra pillows, tea and coffee with a kettle, decent tv, little table and a desk....More
We two 'seniors' stayed from 11 to 19 June and again from 24 to check out on 27 June 17 at the Academy Plaza Hotel. To be honest,we were a little behind in our planning and our choices were a bit limited! It was between...More

assume you are arriving into Dublin Port? taxi best bet as it is not far.. there is a bus option but you would have to check routes to top (North End) of O Connell st when you reach port. .

We stayed in a triple-occupancy room, which we think is pretty enough for a family with parents and a teenage child.
When we went to The Temple Bar in late March, we shared the table with a couple (from US, I guess) and their teenage daughter. The parents enjoyed beer and the daughter had coke. I remember it was about 9 PM, and the father let his daughter try a sip of his Guinness Beer. In Doolin when we dined in a restaurant/pub, there were a young couple with their toddler boy, as well as a German group which had a girl, for whom the whole pub sang Happy Birthday To You for her 15-year-old birthday.
