Very friendly and welcoming landlords who are a lovely old couple that saved us and offered us hospitality when we were desperately looking for a B&B (difficult to find at the last minute when there is an international rugby match and the night of Saint Valentine) after our original one let us know that we could not stay at his...

I stayed at the Hydra house for only a short few days but had a wonderful experience. Beautiful people, home, and hospitality. I recommend this location for anyone who wants more than the hotel experience.

This was the first time I had ever stayed at a B & B, but I have to say that the appearance of the home made it look nice both inside & out however, the room and hallway were constantly cold throughout the day and night. If you decide to stay, be sure to wear socks, long sleeves, and a...

This place was really great- affordable with great breakfasts and the ability to live like a Dubliner. When I travel I like to feel like a member of the place where I am going and the Hydra House satisfied this fully: a ten minute bus ride to the City Center with friendly people and the fun of living in a...

This was my first trip to Ireland and I booked this B&B through the "Go Ireland" website. I'm so glad I stayed at Hydra House! The hosts, John & Mary, made us feel so welcome (we were treated more like family than guests) and gave us so much useful information about Dublin - local bus timetables, places to eat locally,...

This was my very first experience staying in a B&B and it couldn't have been any better. The O'Connor's are the nicest couple you could EVER meet. The are a blast to talk to and they welcome you in to their B&B like you are family not guests. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bus to Dublin is right...

I stayed here on a recent visit to Dublin, it was an ideal location for Croke Park and the Botanical Gardens. The hosts John and Mary were very friendly and helful with directions and taxis. The Irish breakfast was as good as I could get anywhere. Well worth the money.

John and Mary run an excellent b&b near the Irish National Botanical Garden. The house is historic and beautiful, the breakfast they served was hearty and delicious, and they were ever ready to give helpful advice about the city. The rooms are a tad cold at night but the beds have more than ample blankets and quilts to keep you...

“Rooms are quite cold so bring warm clothing, windows are single paned so noise does travel inside, and guests are given a key to the front door so don't be surprised if someone wakes you up at 1:30 in the morning fumbling with the keys trying to get the door opened.”
